  2. Make table cells clickable instead of just the content.

    Make the table cells clickable for Interactive PDF. Currently only the content inside of a table cell is clickable so it doesn't work as a button.

  3. Page jump links

    Hi! Just finished a document for a client. I had to export it to pdf and create all the page jump links in Acrobat. InDesign wouldn't let me keep the links I created when exporting to pdf. Hyperlinks, yes they work great. Page jump links for documents? We NEED this for client brochures, flipping books etc. I will be giving this artwork to the InHouse team so it's very clunky to have to give them the Packaged InDesign file and a pdf that contains all the selected areas that link to page jumps.   4. Add items during packaging

    I hope you can also include additional files during packaging. When we package files, we usually include 3 PDF files (Print Quality for Readers, with Bleed for the Printer, and Low Quality for uploading online. In addition to the PDF files, we add another file which is the cover of the publication in JPEG format. Hope this will be added in the future. Thanks.

  5. Fully support Metric units of measure for ALL Adobe applications!

    ALL Adobe products should allow type sizes to be specified using Metric units of measure instead of Imperial units of measure. This would avoid errors from converting between two different units of measure.

    This website (https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/metric-typo/) also recommends the use of a publishing 'metric point' equivalent to .25 mm because it corresponds to the dot pitch of many computer monitors.

    There is also a unit of measure called the English Metric Unit that is equal to 914400, which would make it easier for your programmers to convert between Imperial and Metric units of measure. Please see http://polymathprogrammer.com/2009/10/22/english-metric-units-and-open-xml/

  6. Automatic page addition or subtraction when links are updated

    Dear Team,

    My organization uses InDesign to compile our tender documents which vary from about 200 pages to 3000 pages in pdf format. These documents tend to change in terms of the number of pages with each tender. It would save a lot of time if InDesign would check for the new page numbers and add or remove the pages accordingly when updating links. Currently if I update my pdf file to have a few more pages, InDesign does not recognize the extra pages and therefore excludes them all together. I have to manually add the pages which is time…

  7. Add Button Functionality for the Ability to Toggle Conditional Formating Layers

    It would be amazing to be able to toggle the layers under conditional formatting with Buttons. We have an Instructor Guide and a Participant Guide in the same document and the customer wants everything in the same document. Then the learner or teacher would be able to toggle the text with a button in an interactive PDF.

  8. Allow more customization in Export Tagging

    I love that InDesign can convert my paragraph/character styles into CSS for me when exporting to epub or xml. But it would be really handy if I could customize what CSS gets exported.

    For example, I might have a "ChapterNumber" style and a "ChapterTitle" style in an 8.5x11 book. In InDesign I might set ChapterNumber to have a space below of 1 inch. This looks great in an 8.5x11 print book, but when the book is converted to an epub, the spacing gets converted from "1 inch" to a very high margin spacing in the CSS. Consequently I…

  9. Add feature to Buttons and Forms

    In the Text Field, if there could be an option for auto scalable type, which would automatically scale while writing in a interactive PDF. This would allow the writer to write without exceeding the set text field, which could later be printed instead of hidden when printed, when the scrollable option is selected. The current options are set, scrollable or set font size. It would create a more dynamic set text field.
    Also a prompt description in the text field which disappears when writing.

  10. Interactive text field options that do not exist in InDesign, but do in Acrobat.

    I make a ton of interactive PDFs in InDesign. Why can I not set things like character limits or centered text within InDesign so I can save the settings in the .indd file? Instead, I am forced to make these changes in Acrobat. This means that any changes to the .indd file require that I remake the PDF format changes in Acrobat. EVERY TIME!

  11. High Res Tif's not rendering

    High Res Tif's are not rendering when imported into an InDesign document. V15 and v16 rendering engines need to be updated.
    When a High Res Tif is inserted and expanded (zoomed in) it does not render in High performance mode but looks like Fast screen mode.

    I have verified this with Adobe InDesign Technical Support that this is not a user setting, but an engineering bug. It is not a resolution issue as the file looks fine when exported to a PDF.

    I'm working on a very long document -- a book with about 300 component files (2-4 pp each). They're all in the book window... but once you're past two or three dozen files, the organization of the book window becomes difficult to view and comprehend. I'd like to print out the contents of the book window (PDF, CSV, spreadsheet, text, whatever) so that I can review what's there and see how best to organize it.   14. Keep non printing elements visible on screen

    A lot of documents I create, are for both printing and onscreen publishing (.pdf). In the .pdf's, I like to add a divider to spreads, to make clear that two pages are show. When setting the 'Non Printing' Attribute for this divider, it dissappears on screen. Maybe ther should be an 'Invisible' check box for that, and a 'Non Printing' option for objects that are visible, but do not print.

  15. Repair Print Booklet please

    Anyone finding this post will have the same question: why is it so hard to create an imposed .pdf in InDesign? Is it due to license wars?

    I know, there is a workaround via .ps and distiller, but this fails, since there is no flexible generic ppd available. If your home printer only prints A4, you are not able to create an A3 .pdf to print at a printshop. Insane.

    Please, Adobe, bring (back) this functionality to create imposed .pdf's at any size with the Print Booklet function, even when no printer is available.

  16. Export correct unicode spaces to epub/html

    Logging this as a new feature, but it could also be a bug? Also logging this under "EPUB" since thats most important to me, but it also affects "HTML"

    Currently the only space characters exported by InDesign are the regular space and the non breaking space. All others are converted to regular spaces on export. These spaces should be retained in the epub, since they are supported by reading systems and in many cases it is typographically incorrect to use regular spaces.

    Spaces with direct Unicode mappings:
    Normal Space U+0020
    Nonbreaking Space U+00A0

    Em Space U+2003
    En Space U+2002…

    I create decks for brands and companies, and we often need to use interactive elements like videos and gifs — so we need to publish them online.

    Because of smartphones, the design of most websites now, and the way people read PDFs in 'Reader', people expect to be able to scroll rather than clicking left and right.

    I'm having a lot of requests now to create documents in non-adobe programmes, like Readymag — purely because they offer scrolling.

  19. Prevent multiple sound files on a page from playing at the same time in an Interactive PDF

    Have 2 buttons on a page in indesign cc 2018, each starts a sound file playing, if reader clicks on one and then the second both files play at the same time. I want to click on one button and have it play a sound file and turn off the other sound files if they are playing. Think of it as a menu of sound files in a list but I want only one to be allowed to play at a time.

  20. Share for Review - Image Quality

    Bring the optimized quality of Share for Review images up to the level of acceptable web-based image optimization at 100% size.

    I understand the need to optimize images for high-performance quick reviews. However, the current setting is far too low. Upgrading the image quality to an acceptable web-image optimization will help reduce feedback loops with concerns from stakeholders over bad image quality.

    In my review workflows using Shared for Review, I am now constantly exporting and sending separate PDFs to reviewers to prove image quality based on concerns from the Share for Review representation.
