Allow us to create PDF (or postscript file) for thumbnails.
Currently InDesign will not let me create a PDF of thumbnails for a document. This would be valuable because I could then send a compact PDF file to a colleague for layout review, before sending the full PDF.
Alternatively, allow the creation of a PostScript file. Right now, if I try do do it in the printer menu, it disables the thumbnails options; if I try to use it via the Printer… button, it seems to work — even asking me to pick the filename — but does not create the PS file.

I wish InDesign had an export PDF to thumbnails feature. I hate having to go to Print > save it as a postscript file > and drop it into Acrobat just to make a PDF.

I figured it out!
From InDesign, choose print, and then set up the dialogue box like the attached image for the printer and PPO: I chose printer as postscript file and THEN chose PPO as my actual printer (this wasn't the default, and the default had the "thumbnail" box greyed out which was why I never used this function).
It then allowed me to choose thumbnails! I set it up the specs I wanted (you can change orientation etc, too) and clicked save and chose the location. It then made a postscipt file which I could distill in Acrobat! It worked like a charm!

yup, I have exactly the same request. Come on Adobe, really can't be that hard. Please can you make it happen?

I see the original post is 2.5 years old. We are trying to do this for a client instead of printing out individual digital ads. My print dialog box says Not Supported when I try to create a PDF of the 3x3 thumbnails.
InDesign, why are you not responding to this?

It is crazy that this feature is not available.

This is an idea that should have been implemented long ago. We can print thumbnails, but cannot export a pdf with thumbnails? Why is the same thumbnail / multiple pages per sheet not supported for export?
