1. nest pages

   The pages panel is the most ridiculously cumbersome thing in the world!

   I make digital planners and regularly work with documents that are over 2k pages long- there is SO MUCH SCROLLING OH MY GOD
   Please make pages nestable where we can group them together and expand or hide as necessary like photoshop layers folders.
   if designers are working on a book there's absolutely no need to see the entire book all the time - being able to work chapter by chapter is so much easier to manage than scrolling for a month!

   Also the scrolling in the pages panel is equally cumbersome it either crawls or shoots down 100 pages.

   If you can do this with photoshop layers I don't see why this very sensible convenient workflow can't be applied to indesign.

2. Multiple strokes like Illustrator has

   InDesign should have the ability to have more than one stroke on an object the way that Illustrator does. I've wanted this multiple times and now it's come up again with a design that uses a filled frame behind a headline and also a stroke inside the bounding box of the filled frame. To make this design efficient in production, the ideal is for this to be one object with the type in the center, the stroke a controlled distance away and another stroke that is the same color as the fill outside the first stroke. See attached screen shot. Combine this object with the Auto Size feature for a text frame, and you have an object that can be quickly repurposed with different text while automatically maintaining the proper distances between type and first stroke and between the stroke and the outside of the frame. Currently it has to be two objects and if the type needs more that one line, the height of the background frame has to be adjusted manually.

   In Illustrator you use the Appearance panel to keep adding strokes and change characteristics. In this design it's super easy to align the first stroke to the inside and the second stroke to the outside.

   Another solution is to add a characteristic to stroke alignment: align to inside with an offset or in this case you'd call it an inset.

   InDesign should have the ability to have more than one stroke on an object the way that Illustrator does. 3. Same color management in all adobe product

   This will be a great feature for simplicity and collaborative work.

   Actually, each program have a different system for choose color, and I'm sure you can improve that with give the same logical and features in all program.
   Import photoshop palet in Indesign or Illustrator and vice versa...
   Add the Color them Tool in photoshop and Illustrator...and maybe why not in After Effect and Premiere...
   Sure you can do something great and identical in all your great products, even if you have not need CMJN/Pantone etc.. colors in video projects.

4. Automatic Photo Collage Creation Tool

   I would like Adobe InDesign to include a feature that allows users to automatically create a photo collage. The process would involve the user drawing a content box on the page or layout, defining the area where the collage should be placed. After selecting the photos they want to include in the collage, there would be an option to generate a collage layout using AI. 5. Cmd K should create a Hyperlink

   I find myself constantly hitting Cmd + K when trying to add a hyperlink in InDesign and always going "GAH!" because that keystroke opens the preferences panel.

   With InDesign trying to be competitive in the online publishing department, I recommend using the same keystroke most other programs use (Google, Word). Even if it's not the same quick command, hyperlinks should be easy to add.

6. ID to create animated gif for social media.

   You already have the animation panel for ID to PDF in the software. Please extend this so that ID can create graphics for social media posts. If we can do this for PDF, please extend the privilege to gifs. Thank you.

7. Allow character style to affect tab leaders

   I applied a tab leader in my paragraph style in order to force dots to appear between my text and page number in my table of contents. However, there is no way to style those leaders. InDesign manual says: To change the font or other formatting of the tab leader, select the tab character in the text frame, and use the Character panel or Type menu to apply formatting.

   This is fine except when you have a really long table of contents and want to format each tab leader. I chose a smaller dot by choosing a light font and had to manually change each line. A lot of work! Can we have a choice of style or character for the tab leader like we do for bullet point marker?

8. Book :: Tell when someone else has a chapter file open on OneDrive

   I know that if you store the INDB file and the INDD files on your server, InDesign allows multiple people to open the same INDB file simultaneously. In that case, the Book panel has a rudimentary feature that will tell you when someone else has one of the chapter files open. Can we add this functionality for people that work off OneDrive Locations? With every one working remotely we can't be VPN'd into servers due to file lag.

9. Quick image adjustments in InDesign

   Sometimes when creating a document I need to ever so slightly brighten the image or adjust the contrast, maybe increase the saturation; and standard workflow means pulling these up in Photoshop and applying the changes and the saving (often as a new file so as to preserve the original).

   This always seems like alot of effort for something that I feel could be done on InDesigns side.

   I am suggesting image quick adjustments.

   So an image is coming out slightly too dark. No worries, right click, apply quick adjustments. A new tool box will open that will have basic image adjustments (brightness, contrast, saturation etc) all on sliders that one can apply to the selected image. These changes are then applied to the image non-destructively and can be edited or removed at any time.

   The changes made should be able to be saved as object styles.

   I feel this will increase work flow in a lot of design situations, be very user friendly so wont be any learning curve and keep InDesign ahead of the competition.

11. Tool to review for performance issues

    It would be great if there was a tool similar to preflight that reviewed documents for potential performance issues and not just errors. Like if one link is massive and slowing everything down, if a table is causing issues, or especially if a hyperlink is going to open another document to get to hyperlink info (sidenote: copying hyperlinks from other documents is a nightmare, why does it default to opening the other indd file instead of just copying the link info?).

13. Share for Review comments link to incorrect spreads on web viewer after reordering pages in InDesign

    I am using the new Share for Review feature to get feedback on a 100+ page document I am working on. Previously I tested reordering pages on a small document, and all comments and pins stayed attached to the page they were originally placed on, even when its page number changed.

    However, after adding some pages to this larger document, I'm running into a problem where the comments are pinned to the correct page inside Indesign, but the wrong one in the web viewer. On the web, it seems to ignore the added pages and goes by the original page number of the comment.

    In the attached example, the comment was originally on page 100, but that page was pushed to number 105 as extra pages were added earlier in the document. In Indesign, the pin appears on page 105, attached to the image mentioned in the comment. On the web, the pin appears on the wrong page.

    This problem started while I was using the previous release, and updating to the latest (14.0.3) hasn't helped. I have updated the link multiple times. Thankfully, even after restarting indesign a few times, the comments remain in the right place inside of Indesign.

    If anyone has a fix, I'd really appreciate it! Otherwise I hope that Adobe can fix the issue soon. Thank you!

    Give the Paragraph and Character Styles Basic Character Formats dialogue the ability to filter like the Character panel in the Properties window.

15. Check Icon Effects Rapid ON/OFF

    I find this very frustrating every time.
    I would like to be able to activate/deactivate an effect by clicking on the check icon.

    • clicking on the check activates and deactivates the effect (on/off)
    • clicking on the name of the effect on the right should open the corresponding panel (as it already works now)

    Often to deactivate an effect I have to enter the panel to deactivate the check, this would be fine when I have to set the parameters but if I simply have to deactivate the effect I have to open a second panel that could be avoided.

    I hope I was clear and helpful.

    At the moment there is a lot of talk about environmental problems and sustainability. Responsible use is particularly important when it comes to the use of finite and regenerative resources.

    The AGD has developed a charter for sustainability for this purpose. "Designers are largely responsible for
    how our world is shaped. Design shapes, design is a role model and creates
    new awareness. Design consumes resources - sometimes more,
    sometimes less. The sustainable use of natural resources,
    with the environment and with the people who have remained in this world for generations
    should be able to live, design must do justice. "

    Dimensions of sustainable design Sustainable design is:
    - material-efficient and appropriate to the material - energy-efficient - low in pollutants - low or waste-reducing - durable - suitable for recycling and disposal - appropriate for logistics - appropriate for use - socially compatible - economical and successful

    Hence, consideration should be given to orienting the designs to save ink and paper. Could Adobe provide a tool that can measure how much ink is used depending on the printing process and color setting? Thus, the material efficiency of a design could be checked and an optimization of the use of ink via measurable and comparable key figures could be inclined.

17. Make the start/end of a stroke highlight when you choose an arrowhead for the start/end in the Stroke panel

    It is very frustrating when applying an arrowhead to a stroke when you don't know what InDesign calls the start or end of that stroke. It's not so bad when you've drawn a straight line but a number of times, we edit shapes to create complex lines. Then it's a case of trial and error as to which end you place the arrow (and most of the time, typically, you end up choosing the wrong end. I know there is the ability to swap these but it would be useful if when you hover over either the start or end drop down boxes it would highlight which end of the line you're going to apply the style to.

18. Shortcuts

    If i want copy path of link(s) or just name of link(s) i can set a shortcut, but this shortcut works only if links panel is open. Otherwise shortcut wont work. The Same issue is with shortcut for change link(s).

19. Edit all Export Tags for all INDDs of a book (INDB) in one place

    In order to export a book to EPUB, I need all export tags (classes) to be perfectly consistent even if the styles they are assigned to aren’t (and deliberately so, which is why they can’t be simply synced via book sync).

    Currently there seems to be no other way than to open “Edit all export tags” from the panel menu in every single INDD of the book (which of course is already a huge progress compared to opening every single paragraph and character style).

    Please let us edit the export tags on book level for all INDDs of a book. Similar things work (well, seem to have been designed to work but sadly don’t under all cirumstances) for TOCs and indexes. The command could sit in the book’s panel menu next to the sync and numbering options (“Edit export tags for all book documents” or the like).

20. Sharable Publish Online Dashboard

    I would like multiple users to be able to update on a single dashboard. We like the idea of being able to update an existing link instead of replacing it which can be a lot more work. Currently, if we link a published file to our website and only one person can update it that's a problem, for obvious reasons. The single file might be linked in multiple places and turn into a tedious workload.

    I'm wishing for an upgrade for InDesign to do this and make this tool even more powerful, it will be awesome!!
