Turn off the "Free Transform Tool"
We should be able to turn off the "Free Transform Tool" so that the "Selection Tool" is the only one used. InDesign auto selects "Free Transform Tool" when I just want the "Selection Tool"!

Multi-relinking with one click
In large projects like catalogues in different languages on own layers, I often have to relink a lot of identical signets (eps) with the appropriate ones in another language on another layer. Sadly it seems to be impossible to do that with one single click. I have to relink every single file separately. The command "Relink all instances …" only works at link folders but not on a group of selected links filtered with the layers in the links panel column. It would be great to relink only a selection of links of the same image with only one click.

Cross Reference feature - Relink selection to a different Indesign document
I need assistance to add a feature to the cross references panel. Right now you cannot batch relink cross references to a different indesign document. I need a feature added to this such as relink selected, locate different document, select and relink. Right now the only way to do this is to individually relink each cross-reference. For example if I have a book file and the glossary with 250 entries in it and I change some of the content from one document to another and move the text anchors with it, I have to individually relink each cross reference.…

Preview Checkbox for Polygon Tool
I'd love to see a preview checkbox added to the Polygon Tool.
When you click on your artboard with the Polygon Tool selected, some options come up to make adjustments to the shape. It's difficult to know how your changes to these settings is adjusting the resulting shape without a preview tool.

Improve UI Efficiency of Styles Panels
SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOT—
The UI of the styles panels is way too spacious in some areas and, as a result, way too compressed in other ways.
The panels have to be stretched wider than they should just to read all the text.
Attached screenshot has a before-and-after with analysis and proposed redesign.

Unlock UI when dialog box open
I would like to be ale to work on more than one pararagrapg or object while a dialog box is open. For instance, I’d like to be able to open the Paragraph Styles panel while in a paragraph then be able to click in another paragraph without having to close then reopen the panel.

View multiple CC Libraries at the same time in InDesign
It would be very helpful to be able to view more than 1 CC Library panel at a time within the InDesign workspace. For instance, my company has a library for our brand elements (colors, fonts, logos, etc) and then multiple other libraries for various uses. I'd like to be able to have at least 2 open simultaneously rather than switching back and forth.

Side panels should slide down instead of popping out.
I think the side panels like Page, Colour, Links etc should slide down instead of popping out. See attached gif

PDF progress
Hi When exporting to PDF, would it be possible in the next available version to put a percentage figure in the top left of the toolbar (next the the pdf bars). This would save having to open the background panel to see the progress of the PDF creation. Thanks from an inpatient designer. H

when using the GAP tool, allow to enter the space size.
When i have a collage of many images and I want to have all the spacing between the images the same exact amount, entering a desired size will be a huge help.

Just change one word in the preferences of German InDesign!
The German word "Textumfluss" is used two times in InDesign but with different meanings:
Within the preferences "Smart Text Reflow" is "Intelligenter Textumfluss".
And then there ist the "Text Wrap" panel, which is named "Textumfluss" in German, too.So "wrap" gets the same translation as "reflow"? Noooooo! These are two different thing and should not be named the same!
A better translation for reflow would be "Textumbruch", so please change just one word in the German preferences, from "Intelligenter Textumfluss" to "Intelligenter Textumbruch".
It's easy to do: just five letters to change! One small piece of code. Done in…

Integrate PDF comments directly with Document Cloud 'Send for Review'
Currently it's very effective to download a PDF from Document Cloud after using the Acrobat DC 'Send for Review' and then import the comments into InDesign using the PDF comments panel.
It would be great to cut out the Acrobat round-trip and have InDesign export a file for review directly to Document Cloud, and then automatically add the reviewers comments back into the ID workspace.

Background Tasks button for progress bar while saving
To duplicate. Export large document to Print PDF, attempt to save while exporting, but background task prevents saving, ok, but only available option is cancel.
Change would be to add another button to the dialog box to bring up the Background Task progress bar.
Or an OK button to just return to unsaved document, but panel could then be opened to follow progress.
Or leave dialog open and allow access to the small animated progress indicator in the top bar to open full background task panel.
Or allow access to the panel/tab from the sidebar.thank you

Text Hotkey window tool
A windowed tool that allows you to assign "Hot keys" to font styles where you could quickly edit text on the fly. The text hot key tool would have an activated switch so when its on, it applies your hot keys and when its off everything goes back to normal. This would mostly be used for references where authors names are italicized, body copy is regular and numbers are bold. I know it is similar to the eye dropper tool except you would be able to edit all at once rather than have to go back to each style. The…

Gradient panel - double click for edit on colour stops not working
Double clicking these does not allow me to choose a new colour or edit the existing colour. Only allows for me to save as a swatch.

Double-clicking on a gradient stop to choose a new color or edit the existing color has never worked in InDesign.
This is a new Feature Request. Hence moving it to Feature Requests category.

Variable Spot Colors from Illustrator Definable in InDesign
The ability to create a vector graphic in Illustrator, fill it with a variable spot color swatch (ie "Variable Color 1/2/3" etc.) and then when that spot color is imported into InDesign you can define it to match your project. Ideally on a per-instance basis, but even just editing the color globally from the swatches panel would be a big help. It would save hiving to make multiple versions of a graphic for each color you need - and that you may never need again.
For now my workaround is to make a layered PDF from Illustrator with a layer…

Allow Pages to be named and exported with names - like photoshop artboards
Where the pages are numbered in the pages panel, please could you allow them to be named and exported with those names - in the same way the Photoshop allows with artboards?
This would save so much time for working on projects that have 100s of pages that all need specific names. I would need this in InDesign as the ability to relink images is a super useful feature for my projects.
Thanks!

Group/Organize Parent Pages
It would be very helpful for larger documents if I had the ability to group/organize the parent pages in their panel. I am currently working on an urban planning document where each section of the master plan (parks, housing, wastewater, etc...) has a different colored footer and chapter page, so I have 8 different footer parent pages and 8 different chapter pages, on top of the 10 or so general layout parent pages I create for our urban planners to use as templates. Consequently, navigating the parents panel requires a LOT of scrolling. If I could just group all…
