Include data merge source file in package
Include the data merge source file(.txt) when packaging a file that hasn’t been merged into a finished indesign file.

This would be great to see. Especially images mentioned in the database (and spreaded all over).
As long as this isn't solved in InDesign we use MyDataMerge (https://mydatamerge.com) for macOS to do that - by the way. Adobe have a look - they added many things to the merge you should have done in years!

Would be good to be able to package all files referenced by that data merge. It may be more appropriate from the Data Merge flout window.
