1. Suppress Running Header on Chapter first page

   Add a setting to Running Header to NOT DISPLAY if current page contains <chapterTitle> style.

   This permits a document to reflow, changing pagination, while always suppressing the Running Header on the first page of a chapter. In this way, many documents would retain proper chapter start formatting without having to manually go through and apply a special Master Page (and remove the previous Master Page) whenever pagination changes.

2. Enable HTML5 to be imported into InDesign and exported as HTML5 / EPUB3

   Currently I'm using in5 to insert HTML5 into InDesign and then export it out as HTML5. I'm also using CircularFlo to insert HTML5 into InDesign and export it out as EPUB3. The funny thing is that the HTML5 that I'm importing to InDesign actually all came from the HTML5 output from Adobe Captivate. It is a little bit ironic that I want to combine Adobe files and make them work together but I've to use external parties plugin to do that. I'm very sure that in the future more and more people will be inserting HTML5 into InDesign either to export as HTML5 or EPUB3. Thus the users will greatly appreciate if we can import HTML5 directly to InDesign and have the option to export the project as HTML5 and/or EPUB3. Thank you very much.

3. Adding interactivity for Windows 10

   Interactivity is not yet available for Digital Publishing on Windows 10 OS. Until it does, it would be great if inDesign had a panel where you could write code to create hyperlink and button navigation.

6. Ability to create a custom Glyph

   I need to insert in text symbols that appear on products - I have the symbols as an image which can easily be converted into bitmap/eps or whatever is needed in Photoshop.
   It would be nice to be able to great a custom Glyph set and create your own library of regularly used symbols - I have about 200 of them from the technical writing I do. Inserting them and getting them to "stay put" is very time consuming and it would-be much easier if they worked just like putting in a symbol from a wingdings font or similar. It would also mean that if you changed font size the glyph would also change.

   It's a problem thats becoming more acute for me as more and more buttons on products are becoming symbol only due to globalisation of products is happening (same product to all markets.) A couple of the ones I need regularly are attached. It would also make getting these into a table which is often 14 columns by up to 200 rows with a symbol in each cell so much easier to format and resize to use else where. I regularly work at 8pt for small printed books and 12 pt for ebooks. No matter what you do with hem as graphic they do not scale well.

7. A customisable list of acronyms and words that the program can be made to use

   I know that there is the ability to use a user dictionary which I use, but it would be nice if there was a exceptions list to put works in that would stop the autocorrect trying to change them or if they are put in - incorrectly they are changed to the right version. For example ISO seems to end up as Iso or ISo even though its been added to the user dictionary and Auto correct and There are some American words that I have to use as they are product related - Customization rather than customisation. Also to force Programme into Program and for RAW to always capitalise.

   Not quite sure how it could work but when working on technical documents and books all the time there are so many specific terms - one recently that’s driving me nuts is HDR PQ - try typing that quickly! It's all over the keyboard. Photography cannot be the only field where there are weird exceptions and terms.

9. The ability to apply L tags and Li to one paragraph style or as a nested tag

   When creating accessible pdfs you can apply tags which is great but when you apply list tags it would be good to able able to apply the overall L tag by either adding to the style itself or give the ability to nest the Li tag

10. Flash Player should not be required to play non-Flash video in PDFs

    Currently Interactive PDFs exported from InDesign require Flash to be installed for videos to be viewed. This is true even when the video is an MP4, and when the settings in Acrobat are set so it uses the Windows/Mac native video player.

    Non-Flash videos should not require a Flash player. The PDF 2.00 specification allows for media in Interactive PDFs... but with Flash going away in 2020 we need a solution to continue showing media files in PDFs.

11. Make possible formatting with Grep the value of variable /dynamic element style

    For example: set paragraph style for number page and use Grep associated to a character style to change the color of a specific pages (i.e. page 2, 5 and 7) .

14. Smarter Link Finding

    It would be great if InDesign used a bit of automated searching or AI to search for missing links. InDesign should be able to look for missing links and suggest them if a file with matching file name and metadata exists in the same folder, or set of folders as the working document. It would be fantastic if InDesign kept track of link metadata and automatically compared it to the OS-level indexing (like Spotlight) to automatically suggest the location of a missing link.

15. preflight errors alert in export

    When exporting to pdf, if there are missing fonts, links and/or overset text (probably some other options), we will have a prompt saying that we have those kind of errors and InDesign will allow us to fix the errors before creating the pdf.

    In the other hand, if we have missing glyphs for example, InDesign will create the pdf without any warnings.

    You can see the errors in the preflight panel but I think it can be easily overseen and this extra security step would help to fix these errors if needed.

    I think Indesign should show this prompt every time there is an error in your preflight so you can decide if create the pdf or not.

16. PDF Tag Preview

    PDFs have to be tagged properly for ADA compliance. It would be nice to be able to preview (in InDesign) what the tag structure will look like when exported to PDF. This would prevent having to return to the source file if there is inappropriate nesting of tags, incorrect tags, etc. This would be especially helpful with complicated (multi-level) lists.

17. Import PDF comments in InCopy

    If we're using a workflow that includes stories in InCopy, it'd be great if our editors/writers can manage the edits/markups to their content through InCopy so they can truly own the content (and prevent the back and forth of review/edits with designers and writers after a document has been reviewed).

    The ability to select 2 non-contiguous pages>right click/select from the contextual mouse menu & have the option to "Swap Pages...." - instead of just "Move Pages....".
