Excluding settings in (paragraph) styles
When editing a stylesheet i.e. for a paragraph I want to exclude the character colors. When checking -without color- there is also a override+ marking, which is not needed.
Can we have a checkbox to exclude some style settings or another solution?1 vote -
Please Integrate with photoshop.
Im having a nightmare trying to open Indesign files in to photoshop, keeping layers. One can think that it would be more natural, because thay are both design programs made by the same company. In practice it seems to be impossible. Please I need to be able to do it somehow. Any clues?

Note field with published files
In our company we create several versions of our brochures made in InDesign, based on the type of client and job. The title for the various versions needs to be identical (Design Brief from XXX) so it's time consuming to identify the correct file for a specific client. If we were able to add notes for ourselves for each file that would be helpful. Ideally these notes would be visible for us on the Publish Online Dashboard, visible right there with each of the titles of the published files.

Improve indexing management
The GUI for Index item/topic management is painful to use. For instance, looking for an item means constantly having to scroll and expand/collapse items in the topic list, mainly because it is so small and secondly because it auto-collapses all the time. This UI should be in a resizable panel, a search field could quickly narrow choices.

Condition Sets: Show overrides when the set has a +
In every other panel, when there is a style override, resulting in a + symbol, if you hover over the symbol, it will tell you specifically what the overrides are. For example, a different type size, or font family or leading or something along those lines.
But in the Condition Sets dropdown, all you get is that there are overrides. And you can either clear them or redefine the set. But if I choose to clear the overrides, I have no way of knowing what the result will be.

Add a "View" option "a spread as single pages"
My idea is to create an option in the VIEW panel, to see your spread as single pages, where they are broken apart and still on the left or right, but separated... Here's why...
Amazon is becoming one of the largest online stores around. Their "create space" content uploader is requiring an interior bleed on your books. Vertical lines between text frame columns
Add an option to add vertical lines between text frame columns (with, of course, options to choose line weight, color, etc).

File handling/sizing when relinking preference shouldn't be a doc preference
This should be a setting you can choose when relinking each image. One image might need one option and another image might need the other - not just a blanket pref setting per document.

One click page border keyline in the print dialog.
Sometimes when printing something you want to see where the trim edge is with a keyline. Currently you have to manually put a box with keyline on every page to achieve this.

Restore the page overlay display in the print dialog.
I previous version of InDesign and the initial releases of InDesign 2017, you could see quite clearly what would print on the selected sheet size. In the latest update as of Aug 2017, if I change a sheet from letter to legal that has been printed previously, letter is still selected in the dialog, but due to the preview sheet being legal and cannot see that there is a size mismatch without going through the individual dialogs. So many bugs. Fix them. Like Package, or being able to use GPU performance to name a couple.
When will an update be available to fix some or all of the issues with InDesign CC 2017? It is not worth the monthly fee as is.

Improving Effects and Gradients for Objects
1) Making Effects easier to copy/paste blending options like in Photoshop layers between several objects (similar to pasting blending to several objects)
2) Also, improving precision and granularity of the rather smallish and sensitive gradient feather bar using mouse. When re-applying a gradient, it is difficult to slide existing gradient points without adversely affecting applied gradient to object, sometimes its easier to just restart a new one.

Allow native generation of barcodes
The new QR code capability in InDesign is very handy and speeds up workflow. Please include similar functionality for all barcode types, including those such as: EAN, PostNet, UPC-A, UPC-E, KIX, ISBN, ISSN and others. The user should simply select the barcode type, enter the relevant data, and then InDesign will create a barcode in the proper size according to the standards. Of course, if the user wants to change the size for some reason, the object could be scaled. Allow selection of foreground and background color for the barcode, including transparency as the default. When you highlight text - then select something else - it would be really cool if the same text was selected when you went back to it

More options when creating Forms via InDesign
InDesign has a few features that make it possible to export an interactive PDF-Formular directly from InDesign.
This CAN save a lot of time when customers require changes on these Files but sadly InDesign is missing out a lot of features that Adobe Acrobat has - even though it'd be a lot easyier to set everything up in InDesign.
So in my opinion the Formular menue needs some improvement and get more functionality (In Acrobat you can define a font VS via InDesign you can't) since more and more customers request Interactive PDF-Forms etc.

Vignette effect for frames
Hi guys,
This would be a killing feature. There's NO WAY to automatically assign a vignette effect to a photo frame. I order to do that I have to:
1) Emulate the effect . by assigning inner shadow to a frame. This is kind of ok but it has probblems: it's not a propper vignette (vignettes actually affect corners, kind of a radial gradient) and there is no way to apply a size that is relative to the frame (I know, this is not even possible anywhere).

Allow Custom Cell Padding on Imported Spreadsheets
When importing excel or spreadsheets (.xls), Indesign CC automatically sets the cell padding on top/bottom as 0.0556" (or equivalent). There is currently no way to set default cell padding when Indesign is open without any publications/files open, nor is there an option when importing a document/spreadsheet.
Either allow for imported cell padding to be listed within the 'Show More Options" within the import screen, or allow for a global default cell padding to be entered into Indesign.
When publishing files that pull or link cell data from excel, each time the excel file is updated, it is a VERY manual…
