InCopy should have a mobile app
Microsoft word has an app for android which can be used to write ideas while away from the computer and then open up the same file on the desktop for editing. InCopy should have the same functionality with a mobile app that can open or create an icml file to type a story. It wouldn't require any editing, only the bare bones so ideas don't get forgotten.

Change text orientation in paragraph style (not only table cells)
It would be nice to change text orientation by paragraph style (not as in text direction or left-to-right vs. right-to-left languages), but as in orientation. For instance, I worked on a book that needed the answers to be under each question, but they needed to be upside-down. The way I worked out to do it was cut and paste each answer into a table cell and turn it upside down using the cell styles, but it'd be nice to set this in the paragraph style options so that one doesn't have to cut and paste into either cells or separate…

Trash/clear out Find/Change completely
The ability to trash everything in the find/change window so you can start fresh with a brand new search. Right now you have to delete things like “change format” individually and each field stays filled in. This is nice if you are keeping something in your search for a while, but not when you want to start fresh.

Style hierarchy
It would be nice if you could easily see as one of the views of styles (paragraph, character, and object) a hierarchy of which styles are based on each other. Like a cascade of styles. I work on long documents and books that use LOTS of styles and besides the normal view and alphabetical view, it would be nice to be able to "sort" by hierarchy, perhaps with the swivel arrow, like when you have different styles in grouped folders. InDesign book file (.INDB) total page count
If you're making a book using a book file (.INDB), the InDesign Book file panel should have a total page count. Sometimes the page count is not accurate, especially if you have frontmatter to a book that uses roman numerals and start with 1 later in the book. It would be nice if the absolute total number of pages showing somewhere on that panel. We publish books and have to stick to strict signature breaks for presses, so total page count is very important information to us, and it'd be nice to quickly get that information instead of having to…

Toggle through styles and narrow by search in paragraph/character/object style windows
The ability to go through all styles without leaving the Paragraph Style Options window. Like forward and back arrows. If you are editing multiple paragraph styles at a time (or character or object styles for that matter), currently you have to close out of the dialog box every time you want to toggle to a new style. It’d be nice to toggle or click through to the next style (alphabetically), or choose it from a drop-down menu.

Find/Change "negatively" on a paragraph/character/object property (i.e., look for a style set to anything BUT 13pt)
It would be nice if find/change had to ability to search for everything BUT something. For example, if I had a style named "text" where the leading was defined as 13pt but I wanted to only find instances where the leading was NOT set the 13pt because of some local override. But these overrides might be 14pt or 15pt, but that would required 2 or more separate searches. I don't necessarily know how many paragraphs have been locally overridden from the set 13 unless I page through and look for each paragraph by sight. I realize the local Style Override…

Find/Change Math Styles
Ability to apply math styles from third party in Find/Change feature.
We publish education materials and use Mt Editor by Movemen. Can find fractions such as 1/2, cannot apply fraction stacked style as there is no option for Math styles as is with Paragraph and Character styles. Would be a huge time saver to have this ability.1 vote -

Rererence to Excel worksheet/'named' ranges appearing in links palette
Is it possible to display source file information (Worksheet name + named range) for dynamically linked Excel files?
I have hundreds of InDesign files linked to an Excel file and would like to see a quick reference list of links, rather than just the overall Excel filename as listed in the 'Links' palette?2 votes -
Make 'Character Style' have bullet options
It would be useful to be able to define bullets as part of a character style, rather than a separate paragraph style.
Often, bullet paragraphs only differ from the body text by the addition of a bullet and the associated indent.
Being able to define bullets as a character attribute, rather than a paragraph style, would allow more flexibility with the new options concerning consecutive paragraphs of the same style (borders, spacing).

Save\Package Option
As I am finishing work on a new document, I would love a selection box for "Package Files" inside the Save Dialog or a Save\Package option. This would make it easy when saving at the end of the day if the files could be automatically packaged into one location if the selection box is checked.

Include the 'Paste in Front' and 'Paste in Back' features that are already in Illustrator.
Being able to paste in front or in back makes layout of overlapping objects a breeze. Everytime I have to cut and paste an object, I need to set the arrangement of the object. It becomes a pain when I have many objects on the same layer.

Abbreviations & Acronyms PDF accessibility
There is currently no way tag either abbreviations or acronyms in InDesign.
Having spent an entire day entering expansion text for the phrase "Title IX" in Acrobat because I couldn't properly prep the document in InDesign, I'm now dreading and future revisions.
Please beef up the accessibility options in InDesign, including the ability to tag both abbreviations and acronyms.

Numerazione automatica
Bisognerebbe implementare la numerazione automatica delle pagine, potendo scegliere se applicare numeri pagine pari o dispari.
Questa esigenza viene dal fatto che, quando si hanno due file di numero uguale di pagine ed un file è il fronte e l'altro è il retro. Per comodità di lavorazione i file di bianca e volta vengono realizzati separatamente e poi montati su file di stampa. La numerazione pari o dispari potrebbe venire scelta al momento della creazione del file oppure nella sezione di inserimento testo. Allego ipotetiche immagini.1 vote -
Zoom in on a tiny area faster
Used to be able to zoom in on a small area by holding command/space and scrolling over a small area and it would then display that small area without have to drag mouse to get that area to enlarge

inverted color option with objects
When I select a text I really like how something looks when it's inverted by having it selected. having a feature that allows you to draw a shape so it inverts colours underneath would be cool. I can't seem to figure out how to do this in any other way.

Use layout name and custom text for export separate PDFs
Would love to see the ability to type custom text in the suffix for export separate PDF. Also, would like to see the ability to add the layout name from the flyout menu, currently it's only "incremental numbers," "page number" and "page size."
