You should urgently work on the performance of your program!
I always read only "new feature" "new feature" "new feature" that no pig needs !!!Oh one in your program you can not even CTRL + A (all Makieren) without having to wait 15 minutes)
My system: i9, 64GB RAM, M2 Raid 0 SSD ... Adobe programmers are really that bad ...

Preflight Panel: Page Range Textbox should be wider
In the preflight panel, the textbox that you can type page ranges into is simply too small, leading to confusion when you're working with higher-numbered ranges. See attached images of the same range and how digits are easily obscured.

Can we PLEASE have a better way to manage saved search queries?
I'm a very heavy user of InDesign's ability to save specific search-and-replace queries, especially for GREP. But every single time you folks do a major update to InDesign, my custom saved search-and-replace queries (GREP, Text, Glyph, Object) go away. I've taken to backing up the .xml files with my backup software and manually restoring them after each program update, but something has changed in the last version, and simply restoring them to the applicable folders no longer restores them to the program Find dialog listing. JPEG export should be numbered usefully
InDesign exports JPEGs as: blah.jpg, blah2.jpg, blah3.jpg, etc.
Even InDesign itself can't properly parse this numbering scheme when it imports JPEGs. They should be numbered: blah01.jpeg, blah02.jpg, blah03.jpg, etc.
Either that, or InDesign should be smart enough to recognize and properly import its own JPEGs.

Font tool and Character panel lockup
When selecting a font from the character panel or selecting text from a document after opening the file InDesign locks up. It happens without fail since the update and the lockup time range from a minute to going on 5 minutes plus (finally just restart the app).

InDesign Book (indb) icon
The icon for indd and indb are almost identical. when looking at a folder full of indesign docs it can be a bit difficult to quickly recognize the book file.
Would be nice if the book file was a different color.

Show version number in Windows
The version number is always visible in the top of the application window on MacOS since CC 2018. However it is not present in the Windows version of InDesign or InCopy.
This is a great tool when you are troubleshooting and I would love to see it in the Windows versions as well.

Hide/Filter pages in pages panel AND navigation
I got myself in a workflow where I would have a document having sections organised like that : title page / content page / title page / content page…
I have to go back and forth between the content pages, and sometimes between the title pages.
That helps to compare what has changed and what’s consistent between the pages.
So I try to not distract my eye by either going to the pages panel or by ctrl-page up with the « title pages » interruption (think about the (now long gone) photoshop cmd-Z to undo/redo and spot differences.If Title…

visibility of the Colorsetting in menu bar
I often work in different color settings for newspaper printing or offset printing. It seems convenient to me if I can see the current color setting as a notification in the menu bar. Also usefull for other applications as well like Illustrator and Photoshop.

Save/open template with basis name instead of untitled.indd
It would be nice if it would be possible to save an InDesign-template with something like a basis-name (like "COMPANYXYbusinesscard").
For example: I create a template with the basis-name "COMPANYXYbusinesscard".
So if I have to create a new business card for "company XY" I just open my template and press "save". The name "COMPANYXYbusinesscard" is already in the name field instead of the usual "untitled.indd". Now I only have to add the name of the person who gets the new card instead of entering the whole "COMPANY_XY..." name.…

I prepare files for a team of 5 designers at my local university. In order for the designers to work on the project they need each page as a separate .indd file. As it would make my life easier and sounds like I don't want to do my job it would increase my workflow immensely.

Add double align tool
Often I find myself needing to align an object to both vertical AND horizontal centers of an object (for example, an icon in a box, or a number in a circle). It would be great to have one button that will align both vertically AND horizontally at once. This would allow me to set a shortcut and knock out work more quickly!

Vertical Justification & Align to Grid clash each other
when i turned on align grid, it should honor the setting i want, but when i apply text frame option-> vertical justification->justified, everything just messed up.
first, after setting text frame to justify, and you turn on align to grid, (mostly this happened when there's not enough text to fill the frame so the leading has to be stretched) it does change the space between lines, (Eg if your justified lines are fairly wide, turn on align to grid will make it narrower) but its not actually align to the grids (no matter if your leading is smaller/greater than the…

Text Variable as a consecutive number
Possibility of defining and inserting a text variable as a consecutive number of the list.
Thanks to this variable it will be possible to number subsequent words in a sentence. For example (1) thing, (2) thing, (3) thing etc, or thing1, thing2, thing3 etc. There are infinitely many possibilities. Verse of poetry at the end of the verse etc. References to comments which are not endnotes or footnotes (without laborious definition of cross references). Data Merge - allow "export to PDF" to have all features of regular PDF
When using the data merge function of InDesign, it is currently not possible to export to a PDF with the same functionality as exporting a PDF from a regular document - several checkboxes such as "Create Tagged PDF" and include hyperlinks are greyed out. merge text frames
When copying data from other inDesign files into a new InDesign file, I always end up with multiple text frames, most of them empty, because it creates a new text frame every time, stacked on top of the empty one that was already there. It's very frustrating and has been a talked-about issue for a while (based on my Google searches.) Please, add a Merge Text Frames option to the menu. None of the scripts I've used have worked.
