Indesign should Natively already have the capability 2 expensive 3rd party plugins add. EasyCatalog and in5 should not be needed at all.
EasyCatalog plugin by 65bit vastly improves Indeisgn's terrrible and dated Data automation and catalogue ability. It is expensive and adds features indesign should do much better by now. Same is true for in5 a plug in to add html 5 export ability and makes up for the total abandonment of the DPS options. Lucidpress offers better digital magaizne options and spreadsheet linking at the moment.

Edit linked spreadsheet table's cell range
I have multiple documents that contain hundreds of tables linked to cell ranges on different spreadsheets.
It would be really helpful to be able to edit the linked cell range of each table, instead of having to go through all the table linking steps each time I need to change the cell range.

Improve style panels
Three things that would be amazing for the styles panels (we use a lot of styles, so managing them better would be a huge boon):
1) Snap the current folder you're in to the top of the panel once it scrolls out of view, so it's easy to close the folder you're in once you're done.
2) Include some way of viewing the "based on" hierarchy all at once rather than having to go into a style's properties to see what's contingent on what.

Footnote in XML flow
Hi Team,
InDesign not supporting footnote future in XML workflow. In Word workflow it is working fine. But in XML workflow XML structure is remove when insert footnotes. We want to move all footnotes into separate frame and align it in page end. Kindly check the feasibility and add this feature.

Improve 'Hide New Layers When Updating or Relinking' tick-box
Hide New Layers When Updating or Relinking (unticked) can be very annoying when I actually need the new layers to be shown when updating and relinking, but InDesign warns with a Confirmation Dialog box everytime for every page that is being relinked - it is so annoying, please can you change this tick-box in Preferences to Ask/Never/Always or something like that please, and have this option in the Dialog box so that the relinking and updating process is smoother/quicker/quieter.

option to read in spectrophotometer results
Create a import option to accept readings from a spectro. that can identify its closest PMS color - and or - create a new SPOT swatch that uses the opposite values of the Lab readings to compensate that value to achieve an closer DeltaE reading on the next print of a specified PMS value that you are wanting to reach

Need an easy to use interface- recording option
Please provide a recording option that will take a series of tasks that a user performs - and at the completion of the recording will convert those tasks into a script that can be saved into the script pallet and executed at will

remove canvas size limits for wide format printing _ or make an option to work in 10% scale mode
Either remove the limitations or provide a "10% mode" that can be switched to (with a click of a button) that calculates dimensions and gives a visual representation of the artwork degradation of the files after enlarging to 100%
actually anything that would help large format printers - which is a large part of your user base - but seems to be forgotten during your program design stage

Stroke & Corner Options independent of each other
We create instruction sheets for setting up/updating retail displays. We use bolder and various colored strokes (object styles) to indicate which items are new to/changing location on/exiting a fixture. If none of these apply, a default (thinner/black) stroke is used. Sometimes the strokes have rounded corners or custom shapes ...and we need to use the stroke option to force the very thick stroke to align outside or it covers up the art within.

Store the state of a style group, open or closed, when saving a document

If I open a style group in a styles panel, save, close and reopen the document all style groups are closed by default.Feature modification request:

Stop appending the word "folder" to all package folder names
I really really really hate that I have to waste 8 keystrokes (yes, I count the down-arrow to get to the end of the package name) on every single package I make. At least give me the option to change the default suffix.

Allow GREP Styles to apply to merged text
GREP Styles cannot be applied to the results of a merged document, either when printing or exporting to PDF or when creating a merged document. This should be fixed.
See the attached screenshot. Numbers blurred, but clearly the Invisible style is not being applied.

Please allow an export as TIFF option!
I don't understand why a graphic design software won't allow pages to be exported as a TIFF! It is fine if it is restricted to single-pages.
It's a HUGE pain to try to convert my designs into PDF or JPEG and open in photoshop, and always introduces some quality loss. Please Adobe, make your software functional for the 21st century!2 votes -
Full Font features from within Style Sheets.
When making a paragraph style or charachter style. The font family opitions are limited as compared to the new font options available from the main screen, it would be great if the full feature set could be incorporated at least show is the font we are choosing not just the name. Thanks.

Hello to the Adobe InDesign Geniuses! I write this with a heavy heart, I have been a mac holdout/Windows Defender when it comes to Adobe products (Photoshop) since the Mid 1990's If I had to guess, 1995 or 1996. Touch Mode for InCopy
Unless it's my incompetence, I see no touch mode for InCopy, whereas there is for InDesign. With Microsoft's ink editor option that is appealing to more and more people, I think it would awesome for Adobe to implement a touch mode (to use, for instance, on a Microsoft Surface with the Surface Pen) like InDesign's but more catered toward editors and writers.

Remove the page "drop shadow"
Remove the page "drop shadow". It's confusing to see the thicker black border on the right and bottom of the page. Is it a locked element? No, it's part of the UI! Why? What is it trying to be?

Save As location
Right now the Save As location seems to be the PREVIOUS folder location where I saved a file.
However, in other programs like Photoshop, the default location goes to the same folder as opened file.
Consulted help center and got no solution other than rerouting every time I save as a file. PLEASE also make the default Save As location in InDesign to the same location as opened file!! I'm working on like 3 or more projects at the same time and have to reroute the save location all the time! In fact I accidentally overwrote an important working file…1 vote
