Please remove the black shadow on the right and the bottom in Normal Screen Mode in inDesign. It's aggressive contrast is annoying as ****.

Keep InDesign in background while creating PDF (or any task), unless input needed for alert or error.
Mac OS, ID 18 (2023). While outputting a PDF or some other process that can take some time, I often switch to a different task -- but InDesign will make itself pop to the front multiple times partway through the process, usually without any input needed from me. Is necessary to switch back to the other program I am using again and again. The disruption wastes time and sometimes causes problems because I was in the middle of typing or moving the cursor when the window unexpectedly switches.

Allow use of Image Blocks in online publishings & Interactive PDFs
I really want to create a more immersive viewing experience of my 3D designs by using holographic image blocks as an embed in interactive PDF's and/or Online publishing (If you are not aware of this excellent technology you need to check out LookingGlass; https://blocks.glass/). Can we please make this a supported feature?
At first glance, you might be fooled into believing that it already is as Indesign allows you to insert image blocks as an HTML which works perfectly in the EPUB Interactive preview. The only problem? When you publish the document the image blocks turn into a grey…

Shift key to select multiple objects like in Illustrator Layer window
Shift key to select multiple objects like in Illustrator Layer window.
For now I have to select each object one by one and can't do shift select with the upper most object in the layer window and then select all with the lowest in the list via shift to select them in between.

Overprint highlighter (like separations preview, but for overprint)
If you use the separations preview, everything over 280% for example is highlighted and easy to spot.
Overprint is so hard to spot sometimes. Especially if you use logo's from other brands that already have overprint in them.
It would be nice to have a preview where everything that is on overprint is highlighted.
** example of the inc cap. But then highlighted what is overprint.

Option to select pre-loaded colour palette .ase file at new document stage
At the new document phase of indesign, would be great to have a feature where you can drop in pre saved colour palettes, which you can then select based on document / brand and they then load with the new document.

Text wrap around anchored objects needs to work according to settings, regardless of where the anchor is placed.
Text wrap refuses to wrap properly around my anchored objects regardless of anchor placement in the paragraph or text wrap offset settings.
This causes the anchored object to overlap the text and/or have inconsistent margin offset around the object. It's erratic and inconsistent among the various objects, even though they all have the exact same object style applied.
Some of the objects wrap a little better than others - at least they're not overlapping on top of text - but the wrap margins are still inconsistent. Not a single object wraps how I believe it should based on the style…

Kennzeichnung aufeinander basierender Formate

Change one setting across styles
Changing one element for several styles at once is extremely important, and not only for fonts (for which obviously Replace Fonts can be used). For example, if you have an ebook localized into Japanese, you have to go style by style applying a different paragraph composer, kinsoku and mojikumi settings, etc.

Page jump links
Hi! Just finished a document for a client. I had to export it to pdf and create all the page jump links in Acrobat. InDesign wouldn't let me keep the links I created when exporting to pdf. Hyperlinks, yes they work great. Page jump links for documents? We NEED this for client brochures, flipping books etc. I will be giving this artwork to the InHouse team so it's very clunky to have to give them the Packaged InDesign file and a pdf that contains all the selected areas that link to page jumps. I beg of you please for the…

Choosing the number separator yourself
When you translate a pricing table the decimal comma might change to a decimal point. E.g. German to English. Even when i changed the language of the file to english, there was no way for me to change the decimal comma to a decimal point. I used a GREP search and replace for that. But as soon as the linked excel table updates, i have to remember to do the GREP search. I managed to change the decimal seperator in excel, but indesign seems to override it by using the systems language.

Paragraph shading (and borders) should be able to clip/inset based on the text box
Paragraph shading extends outside of the text box. This is especially annoying when shaded text spans over multiple pages (see screenshot: AutoShading.png). It would be great if it could automatically clip and inset based on the text box—see screenshot: HowItShouldLook.png. The current solutions I can think of are really messy and easily negated.

Frame handles that don't include stroke as in Illustrator
It is possible to uncheck 'Dimensions include stroke weight' so that dimensions show the actual size of the element (box, circle etc.) regardless of the stroke weight and stroke alignment. But the frame-selection and -handles still align with the outside of the stroke, which I find a bit frustrating, when I for example want to resize objects to align with, and snap to the edge of other objects or guides. Please change this, so it is consistent with how it works in Illustrator, which I think is how most people would expect it to work.

If there is any way possible to get InDesign to be able to create a table that's curved on an edge?

Option to List Fonts by Recently Activated
I leave a lot of fonts open. Especially with CC fonts, I find I am activating fonts more and more to test them for a project, then I have to go to the font menu and look through it to find them. A great option would be to list the fonts in order of activation. That would save some time – and I know you have an "auto-activation" feature, but for some reason, I've never warmed to that. Thanks!

Allow full access to RTL & Asian language support in one edition of Creative Cloud!
Let us use the Middle Eastern & Chinese/Japanese paragraph composers in ONE unified version of Creative Cloud! We live in a multilingual world! I typeset RTL and Asian languages every day of the year and CAN'T keep switching from one version of InDesign to another just to unlock the features that are already there, just not always accessable?! It's so incredibly annoying and gives the impression that Adobe are a company that have a monolingual world view in a multilingual world!

Page number ranges in TOC
Table of contents don't have the ability to add page ranges.
So the contents look like this:
Section A . . . . . . . 1
Section B . . . . . . . 5
Section C . . . . . . . 9
When they should look like this:
Section A . . . . . . . 1-4
Section B . . . . . . . 5-8
Section C . . . . . . . 9
All this needs to be implemented is to have the second number be one page less than…
