1. Align Panel

   The Align panel has the options to align to the selection, page, margin, key object and spread. You have to click on the icon to open a drop down and choose which one. There is plenty of empty space. I attached a mockup of the way it is now vs. how it should be. As someone thats constantly aligning things to pages and then selection, quick changing would be greatly appreciated!

2. Emoji for Print: Update EmojiOne Color and Support COLR Fonts

   I work for a large book publisher and more and more books (especially YA) include a lot of emoji. To the point that having to replace all emoji with art is a tedious process. For workflow efficiency and for accessibility issues, we utilize emoji fonts and convert them to outline, then color correct for print (grayscale or CMYK). That way we can support diverse emoji and preserve the unicode values so that characters are maintained as manuscripts go from Word to InDesign.

   Right now, emoji fonts that support shading and skin tone/hair color options come in two flavors--OpenType SVG and OpenType COLR. Neither is supported by print PDF standards. OpenType COLR is not yet supported in Adobe software. We are limited to OpenType SVG, which we have to convert to outline to export to PDF (for print standards and for colorspace). We are further limited by the individual font behavior of convert to outline (for example, Noto Emoji Color SVG has horrible character fidelity when converted to outline).

   Adobe's emoji font, EmojiOne Color, version 1.0000, only has emoji up to unicode 9.0, which was released in 2016. Any newer emoji are not available.

   My requests:
   --Update EmojiOne Color with new emoji releases and keep it up to date.
   --Add support for OpenType COLR in Adobe software.
   --(The Dream): Create an emoji font designed for print that:
   +Has CMYK or Grayscale options (emoji fonts are web based and RGB [we would still need RGB for ebook], but putting this thought out there to not forget print)
   +Has shading so that skin tones, hair options, etc. are possible.
   +Uses emoji unicode
   +Works in Adobe software, exports to PDF and embeds for print, is supported in EPUB.

3. Change color to the QR Codes when using Data Merge

   InDesign is great for controlling your design, but when you're importing a QR code from a spreadsheet using Data Merge, it feels a bit limiting. It's like what Henry Ford said about having any color car, as long as it's black.

4. Paste items on multiple layers at once

   It would really speed up my workflow if I had the option of selecting a number of layers and be able to ‘Past in place’ on all of them at the same time. I often have to change country ratings (esp. PEGI) on my projects and it would be great if I could select 7-8 layers at a time and switch them out together. Clients also require third-party logos and legal lines to be added and it would really speed up my routines.

5. Linked text frames inside text threads keep links

   When a linked text frame is placed on the page, it updates its contents when the parent linked text frame changes. But if one copies that text frame and pastes it inside a text thread, it appears to have a link icon, but the link is actually broken and will not update with the parent text any more.
   I am trying to use this to have a callout box for a construction procedure that is duplicated is several places in my document. I want them to be inline of my text as other instruction steps will change, and reflow the layout, and I need the content to be inline where the user will need to see the sub-procedure when they perform the actions.

6. [ID-4273803] Make share button neutral

   The new SHARE button is very blue. In Photoshop we have the option to make it interface colored. Same in Illustrator. InDesign dosen't.

7. Make 'Preferences/Grids/Baseline grid' changes live

   When using 'Preferences/Grids/Baseline grid' to set, or change, or modify the baseline grid, it would be really useful if the changes were visible live, rather than having to repeatedly open/close the dialogue window to see changes.

8. Accessibility: DESPERATELY need to input table summaries in Indesign. Before exporting to Acrobat

   Accessibility: Long form print/digital/W3C-ADA designers need to be able to input table summaries in Indesign. I update an Accessibility Document 2-3/year. +325 Tables/25 pgs. This one project that is coupled with a 240 page digital catalog is the bain to my existence. Having to redo the Table Summary work every interation is TORTURE.

9. Please add new options in table/document for changing decimal and thousand separators globally

10. Preflight Profile for Accessibility

    Add options to run accessibility checks in InDesign. Acrobat already has the ability to run an accessibility check. It would be so helpful to be able to run a preflight check for issues (e.g., alt text, table headers) before exporting.

11. Please enable pinch zoom in and zoom out using a touchpad on Window 10 in Adobe InDesign 2024

    My Surface laptop does not enable me to pinch zoom in and zoom out using a touchpad on Window 10 in Adobe InDesign. I was previously using a mac with a magic trackpad and had no issues zooming in and out in Adobe programs. I realize I can use work-arounds like CTRL + / -, but this takes more time and I have less control.

12. Autosave on Indesign !!!

    Currently in much distress due to the lack of an autosave feature on indesign. We artists and students should not be trusted to manually save our work. We just leave it up at all times. I know this exists on Adobe applications, this needs to be a top priority. Too many lost files due to this. Praying for a miracle and a non-existent recovered file. CATER TO YOUR AUDIENCE!

13. Set Solidity of Spot colors

    We have HP Indigo's that can print white ink. For example, printing white ink on a golden paper, it looks great, and if you have a picture, just slab some white ink below it and it looks good.

    However in InDesign, if you set the colors accordingly (Paper color to gold, and add a white spot color), and you enable overprint preview, the white ink just disappears. This means, we're desining with paper set to white and white ink set to Cyan to see what we're doing. Tbh we'd like to see what we'll eventually get.

    We need the ability to set the Solidty of the spot colors, like Photoshop is able to since many many years (see screenshot, comparing the Spot color dialogue between InDesign and Photoshop [german version]). Also, we need the ability to export either a version with or without the paper color (with paper color simulated to show the customer how it'll look like, without for printing).

    There are many printing systems out there that can do white ink and other ink with high solidity: HP Indigo, Xerox Iridesse, Ricoh, ... also, screen printing, and even certain metallic colors in offset printing!

14. Flipbook should comeback

    The flipbook feature should come in HTML5 so that we are sure that there are no backlinks or anything like that in the code and its secure to be used on servers.

    Compared to Adobe Illustrator, InDesign does not have the option for internal approval within the organization ("Everyone at your organization can comment").

17. Cloning à la Illustrator Repeat or Symbol Tool for x-up Printing?

    I've quickly grown to love Illustrator's Repeat feature, especially the ability to edit any instance of the repeated object. A feature akin to this for InDesign, or a "Live Repeat"/"Clone" would be a massive improvement for x-up layout!

    I would like these information to be available in info panel of Indesign. It really helps. Select a character and then it should show following information:

19. Lyft background check?

    It is an honor to be able to join the Lyft driver community, which sounds like one exciting environment. I am currently in the course of getting through the application steps. As I go through all the steps, I have thought about the thoroughness of Lyft with respect to what it looks for in a background check. While doing some research, I stumbled across this informative article (https://consumerattorneys.com/article/what-does-lyft-look-for-in-a-background-check), shedding light on the subject. I am very sure that your collective wisdom can provide more details.

    Just for those of you who have firsthand experience in driving for Lyft or have plunged in the detailed knowledge of their screening process in general, I would be glad to hear from you. Could you please share your experiences, or better still, some information that you have regarding what exactly Lyft is looking for in a background check? Is there a particular aspect or criteria that it particularly emphasizes in the course of screening? How comprehensive or particular is the background check, and are there any unique things I should look out for?

    Being new to all this and going through this process for the first time, I would gladly accept your tips or advice. Your insights will be invaluable in embarking on this journey of becoming a Lyft driver. Let's create a pool of knowledge in supporting each other in this exciting endeavor.
