Chequeado de obra
Solicito a los desarrolladores una herramienta que bien se podría llamar "Chequeado de obra". La misma consistiria en una pantalla donde cualquier diseño que tenga más de una página, pueda ser reproducido a la manera de un video. Ese "Player" debería contar velocidades ajustables para mostrar las páginas. ¿Cúal sería el beneficio?. la utilidad de esta herramienta nos permitía cotejar nuestra diagramacion de forma "espacial" donde veríamos que los elementos de cada página tengan un sentido estético a lo largo de toda la obra. Permitiría detectar "saltos" de elementos que no guarden una estética general.

Find all data placeholders
"There is at least one data placeholder that cannot be found..."
Trying to determine what InDesign is objecting to here has lost me HOURS of work. As we speak, I'm trying to set up a tab file for a document. I have inserted two data placeholders. They correspond to the two fields in the data source. I cannot locate the "offending" placeholder.
Can you PLEASE add a "locate all placeholders" or something similar so we don't pull our hair out trying to find the "extra" placeholders?

horizontal table flow in text boxes
Right now, if you have a table that has more rows than the text box can handle vertically, the table will auto-flow into a new/threaded text box, or another column within the text box. It would be really helpful if tables could the same thing horizontally.
For example, let's say you set up a table with 3 rows, first with images, a second with item numbers, and a third with descriptions. Each column for this set up is an inch wide, and you have 30 items that each need their own column, but you want it to fill an 8.5x11…

Playing GIFs in InDesign, improve export to PDF
Currently there is no way to add a GIF image to the indesign file. In my case I would like to place a GIF image into my portfolio with ability to export it into PDF keeping the play function of the image. Neither in InDesign nor PDFs support this feature and the only way is to present it is to export into EPUB which is useless for the sake of the portfolio sharing as if it limits how file could be reviewed. Pop window note
I work within teams that open and close ID files. The existing noting and share for review is just too slow and complex for the majority of the work we do. It would be absolutely amazing if you could save a simple twitter style small note when saving. So when the next person that opens the file can read it as soon as it pops up on open and can either choose to keep it / ignore or dismiss the note. Which will get rid of it. Snapping with groups
Allow snapping within groups. Once you click into a group, snapping to other items in the group does not work. Oddly enough, snapping still works to items outside of group. Most of the time, when I'm moving items within a group I want snapping to items in that group not outside it.

Add Units selection in dialog boxes
It would be extremely helpful to have an option to switch between units in all dialog boxes where values can be entered in different units.
For instance when making a new document we have the option of selection units via a drop down menu.
Is there really any reason why this is not an option in all cases where the user can input values of certain units?
We could need it in the following dialogs:
- Document Setup
- Margins and Columns
- Create Guides
- All the Dialog boxes for setting paragraph, character object styles.
- Print Dialog

Footnotes from text that has been placed from a Word doc should flow continuously, so they can have numbering applied to them
When importing a document from Word that has footnotes, the footnotes are entered as separate imbedded text frames which I can't thread. If I try to apply numbering, they each are numbered 1. This is really frustrating. The footnotes should not be separated out into individual text frames, to keep them in the same text frame as paragraphs within the same text frame, or they should be allowed to be threaded.

Merge Across
In Excell, you can highlight several columns and there is an option to "Merge Across" where it will merge each row individually for the entire column. I'm working with a list of items that includes some html tags that InDesign treated as tabs, so it turned them into extra columns. In order to get them back to what they should be, I'm forced to merge each row individually, whereas this feature would allow me to highlight the original and extra columns and merge them all at once, keeping them in each of their rows.

1 button to center both vertical and horiz
There is plenty of ways to move a object around but why do you not include 1 that centers the object? That way you save a step by not hitting the horiz center and the the vertical center. You can add it to the layout window

Placing a file to have it drop centered right off the bat
when you place a multi page document you then have to go back and center horz and vert each placed page. There should be a option to just place it centered automatically thus save all that extra adjustment steps.

Please add "Default search scope" to the Preferences
Hi, Adobe design team!
I'm sorry to say, but NEVER IN MY LIFE have I wanted to search for something inside a single Story. It's kinda infuriating to have to switch to "Document" as the Search scope every time. Can we please have the chance to change, what is our default?

Deselect files in Book-Panel
It would be nice if there was an option in the book panel to deselect all book files. If there are a lot of files (in my case over 100), it is very difficult to do this. You have to click very precisely between two entries, which can be very tedious. A menu item "Delesect all" in the book menu would therefore be very desirable.

Restore adjustment arrows in Transform window for X/Y and W/H values
When InDesign updated to the 2024 version, I lost the ability to use the Essentials Classic layout with the Properties bar at the top instead of the right, and in the Transform window, either as part of the Properties bar or on its own, lost the up and down adjustment arrows with seemingly no way to bring them back. I prefer being able to make tiny adjustments by sixteenth increments rather than at random or just eyeballing it and this change is absolutely driving me insane. I've rolled back to the previous version for now, but I know you all…
