The font size in parentheses is the new font size when the document has been resized using Liquid Layout’s Scale rule. The font size outside the parentheses is the original font size – that is, it looks like this:
Original Font Size(New Font Size) – eg., 12 pt(8.1).
Have you selected an Alternate Layout page where this rule was applied?Adobe InDesign team

Hi,
if the size of a selected text is shown like this, the text frame holding the text is scaled.
It's simple as that. Look into the preferences under General > When ScalingDo a simple test. Add a new text frame to the page. Type some text. Duplicate the text frame.
Now scale one of the text frames when the general preferences are set to: When Scaling: Apply To Content.
Scale the other one with When Scaling: Adjust Scaling Percentage.Select text in both text frames. See the difference?
You can do two things with the scaled text frame of your document using the flyout menu of the Transform panel:
Clear Transformations
Redefine Scaling as 100%I'd try "Clear Transformations" first.

That goes to Hanyo:
Look into menu Edit > Color Settings…
If color management (CMS) is turned off, turn it on again.Your issue is a clear indication that your CMS is turned off.
That's all.Regards,

Another note on this bug:
It's not only images in graphic cells that will show the bug.If you select the graphic frame inside the graphic cell and apply a fill and set the rectangle to e.g. blend 30% the PDF/X-1a will contain a fill of 100% of the applied color. The correct fill in the PDF would be 30% of the color applied.

Just tested my workaround with the transparent rectangle added on the page with the attached InDesign document "bug in PNG colorseparation.indd". It worked! The result isn't "blue" anymore.

Hi together,
I think this is a bug with graphic cells plus transparency AND exporting to PDF/X-1a where transparency is flattened. CC 2015, CC 2017and CC 2018 are affected.Workaround: Put a transparent element on the page or the spread outside the table. Could be a rectangle with a [Paper] fill that is set to 0% Blend.

Unfortunately I can see also a follow-up bug.
Let's accept a comment in a table row where all the contents of all the text cells should be removed.
As we know, only the text of the first cell will be removed.Clever as we are: How about importing the same commented PDF again?
Doing the job in several steps?Just tried exactly this:
Removed all comments from the PDF Comments panel.
Imported the same commented PDF again.InDesign did not like that and crashed.

Hi,
I can see this bug as well. Just tested with InDesign CC 2019 14.0.1.209 on Windows 10Only the text of the first cell will be removed if I accept the strike through-comment that is running through all the text cells of a table row.

Further tests are showing that property GradientFillAngle is also a problem.
Had an angle of 45° with Illustrator. The result with the pasted element was -0.56602883338928°.
For that test I selected the object with the gradient fill in InDesign and ran this script snippet:alert( app.selection[0].gradientFillAngle );

Hm. Just verified this.
Uninstalled a prerelease version and installed the same version with CC Desktop app.
Then I ran the little script code below ( ExtendScript / JavaScript ) on all my installed versions of InDesign from CS6, CC, CC 2014, CC 2015, CC 2017, CC 2018 and finally on CC 2019:alert( app.serialNumber+"\t"+app.version );
It's the same number for CS6 to CC 2018.
And a different one for CC 2019.So indeed the old serial number will not correspond to the new CC 2019.

Hi,
is the user perhaps running CC 2019 from an installer not supplied by CC Desktop app?
Perhaps a prerelease version?Regards,

I would provide the placed images as well.
Hope that an InDesign developer stops by commenting.
Then you could ask for mail address to provide the full material for testing.Best,

FWIW: The bug with the IDML conversion is still there.
To test this:1. Open Colin's document with the latest build of InDesign prerelease.
2. Export to IDML.
3. Open the IDML with the latest build of InDesign prerelease.
4. Do a datamerge process where you merge directly to PDF.The second data field in the document, the one in the text frame, not the one on the text path, will NOT be populated with data. The PDF will just show <<names>> at the beginning of the text of the text frame.
Workaround:
Do the data field again. First remove <<names>> so that the first insertion point of the text frame is selected and then click the names data field in the Data Merge Panel to insert the field.Regards,
Uwe Laubender

Hi Abhinav,
tested with Colin's InDesign document opened in the prerelease build issued today.
Bug is fixed. All the data with text on path is there. Nothing is missing. Thanks,

Also tested with CS6 on Mac OS X 10.11.6. Issue persists. Also the one with opening the IDML file.

Ahem…
And while testing with older versions I tripped over a bug with IDML with data merge: Opening an IDML version of your document with CC 2017.1 revealed only one assigned merge field out of two in the original INDD document. I had to reapply the second merge field in the text frame. The one on the text path was ok.Result of the merged PDF was the same: Text on path missing on page 2 and onward.
So I guess this is an old bug…Regards,

Thank you all for the votes.
Can you help us understand the key problems that you face in the absence of ability to send an anchored image backwards?
What’s the current workaround that you have to follow?
What are the use cases wherein you need that the text appears specifically on top of inline anchored image?
This information will help us evaluate the functionality better.

Hi together,
there are three types of anchored objects:
Inline anchored, above line anchored and anchored. With Above Line Anchored objects text can be above the anchored object. See my screenshot uploaded to Dropbox:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/248t4ihodgx7l4f/AboveLineAnchoredImage-TextOnTop.PNG?dl=0
Of course it would be great if one could do that with the other two types of anchored object as well!
So you have my vote!Regards,

What I also see on my machine when testing GREP "w?" with InDesign CC 2018.1:
Memory consumption goes way up for task "Adobe InDesign CC 2018" as shown in the task manager. After a little while non-reacting InDesign is using more than 50% of my memory, constantly increasing. After two minutes 60% of RAM. So I had to kill the process, because I did not want my machine to crash. Fan is also whirling like mad. Have 68 GByte of RAM installed.

Hi Roland,
there's already a strange behavior if you are use the findWhat field for GREP in the UI and look for "w?" and there is nothing in the change field. Or formatting change is not defined. The first insertion point of a story is found. And then nothing on, even if there is a "w" somewhere in the text of the same story. ( Tested with CS6 and CC 2018.1 on Windows 10 (1803)).And yes, I can confirm, that InDesign is freezing.
