Is this a text wrap problem or something else??
I use InDesign 2022. My Text wrap is set to 'none'.
When I open a new text box it’s automatically applying a 1" a white space top and bottom that is the width of the text box. Also a 1/4" white space to each side of the box, that is the height of the text box. These 'white panels' (I hesitate to call them text wraps) blank out other text boxes and photos, but sometimes the text from the underlying text box shows through. Bringing the photo to the front can help where a photo is concerned.
This is especially annoying when I need a smaller photo within the text and the text disappears to the side of the caption box. Photos text wrap just fine. Also if I have to put two text boxes together - one's 'white panels' invariably blanks out the other box's text.
I have tried all sorts of on-line suggestions but none seemed to help, and after one I couldn't even drop a photo onto a page. Desperate, I used 'restore' on my computer to reset everything to June 27 (earliest date possible) and I can now place photos, but the white space problem persists.

Version 19.4 - InDesign mangles keywords so that they are not searchable
Placement of a valid keyword searchable PDF or EPS file into InDesign and subsequent export to PDF leads to mangling of original words with the addition of one letter from another word.

Files won't open
Trying to open some files from File Explorer or within InDesign: Adobe Creative Cloud message states: "InDesign could not open "[file name]" because it has been created in a newer version - Adobe InDesign 19.4. You can convert and open this file but you may lose out on content created using the features specifgic to the latest versions. For the best experience, we recommend updating InDesign to the latest version." I am always updated since I use the auto-update feature for all products. If I attempt to use the "Update" link provided I get this message: "You're up to date!". If I use the "Convert File" link I get this Adobe Creative Cloud message: "Unable to convert "[file name]". You are not currently signed in to Creative Cloud. Please go to Help - Sign In and enter your Adobe ID. Restart InDesign, then try opening the codument again." I am already signed in so this is getting me nowhere to be able to open files I must access!

Issues with Color Picker in InDesign: HSB and RGB Confusion Leading to Unexpected Colors
When I open the color picker to adjust a shade, I usually automatically do so in HSB, since I usually want a lighter or darker shade of what I'm working on. But if I don't actually click on the radial buttons for the HSB value I'm working on, InDesign will give me some wild colors! It seems to be confusing HSB and RGB somehow--but I don't know why or how, since I'm editing in the HSB boxes.
If I'm using an HSB Swatch and open the color picker to get a different shade, the "original" color box shows something completely unrelated to the color of the swatch, but will act as if it is the real color when I click on it.
I'm not sure where the discrepancy is, and I can still do what I need to, but this gets really annoying and diminishes the usefulness of the color picker overall.

TOC Paragraph Styles not Applying Properly
I'm using InDesign version 19.4. I am trying to generate a TOC for my document. I have ensured that all my paragraph and character styles are appropriately titled and applied throughout my document.
When I produce my TOC, the entire thing is capitalized, despite the paragraph style having "normal" case set. When I highlight the auto-generated TOC, it is indicating that the correct paragraph style is applied, however, it is not reflecting it.
If I click around to my different paragraph styles, it alters the font size, color, etc. but everything remains capitalized, despite none of the styles having that setting.

Lower Case with Caps Lock and Shift
In my new install, InDesign24, pressing shift while using caps lock doesn't make the text lower case, despite this working in other programs. Is there a preference or setting in InDesign I'm not aware is clicked to make this function as before?

Indesign 2024 not working with window-snapping apps
I recently upgraded to InDesign 2024. I use BetterSnapTool to arrange my app-windows in order to have a efficient and practical workflow. But InDesign 2024 does not work with BetterSnapTool (BST) or any other window-snapping apps due to this reason I received from the BST support:
"Unfortunately all window manager apps on macOS are affected by this, Adobe has broken their window resizing behavior in their recent updates. Their products do not respond correctly to window resizing requests using the macOS Accessibility API anymore. As of now I don't think there is anything I can do to fix this. If possible please also report to Adobe, they would need to fix this in their apps."
BST works with every other application. I have reset InDesign preferences, but it still does not work properly. Therefore I still use InDesign 2023, since BST works perfectly fine with that application. The problem is that when I for instance snap ID2024 to 2/3 of the screen and I put another application in 1/3 of the screen (so far it works) but when I go to the 1/3 app and copy information and return to ID2024, ID2024 goes back to full screen again. Very annoying and it destroys my workflow. Adobe please fix this! I enclose a short videoclip to show how badly it behaves... Find Color not working
Find Color [in document] fails to find specific color swatches.
1- I deleted all unused swatches.
2- I tried to track down redundant or undesired swatches that remained (in example, it was a pantone red/orange)
3 -"Find color" could not locate where swatch was used
4- I deleted the pantone swatch and converted to magenta in order to visually locate magenta in my document since "find color" did not do so.
5- Found the color in a text field1 vote -
Running Header issue with anchored textframes (for alternative titles)
If I use an anchored textframe to have abbreviated versions of the headlines as running head, they override every following trigger until the end of the story.
I use character styles as trigger set to 'last on page'.
Please fix this. (Or configure a better way for customizable running headers. Preferable in combination with the table of content)

Colours not previewing when changing Paragraph rules and text colours
When changing the colour of text or paragraph rules in my document, the colours are not changing on the page - they are still showing as white, even though both rules and titles have been changed to orange.
If I drag the text block off the page to the bleed/slug area, the correct colour change can be seen. When I export the pages to PDF the colour is also showing up correctly, yet I can’t see them when working in the document. See screen shot below.

opening an IDML zeroes the pasteboard dimensions
EVERY time when I open the IDMLs (probably from previous version of indesign - now I have 19.4 x64) the pasteboard dimensions are set to zero.
And only with IODML - opening INDD goes normal.I think its a last update issue.

Find/change
Find/Change is really slow to search when i add a Find Format style [None] in the search.
The search works fine in my document if I just search on a text word or other styles but when I add [None] to ensure it doesn't change other character formats applied it then takes forever to find it.

InDesign 19.4 crashing when clicking on text box
I have a Lenova ThinkPad Windows laptop on Win 10 Enterprise, Build 19045. After updating from 19.3 to 19.4, the program began crashing whenever I clicked on a text box.
I tested with different documents with the same results. I tried a few of the "usual" fixes for crashes (including removing the prefs folder and exporting to IDML) with no success, so I downgraded to 19.3. Downgrading fixed the problem, so there appears to be a compatibility problem with my system.

undesired text reflow
When anchoring an object to which text wrap has been applied, the text in the paragraph receiving the anchor reflows in an undesired manner, affecting layout in minute but important ways. Trying to fit book copy around an image without creating spaciness within the shortened lines is hard enough without having all one's adjustments made null when the text shifts due to an anchor that has nowhere else it can be placed.

Logical error: searching words in selected text with Find/Change unselects text
When using the Find/Change dialog to find text, there is an option to only search in a "Selection" of text. When the word is found, Indesign will mark that word, which would also unselect the text and no further search in the selection could be done. This is a logical bug.
