Profiles equal to the Output-Intend get lost on PDF-Export
When exporting a PDF all profiles equal to the Output-Intend (which in my case is the Document-Colorspace PSO Coated V3) get lost when exporting.
I have created a small test-file with an PSO Coated V3 Image and an ISO Coated V2 Image.
When Exporting as PDF X4 with Output-Intend Set to PSO Coated V3 the Image that IS PSO Coated V3 looses its profile and the same for the ISO Coated V2 when the Output-Intend is set to that.
This is horrible for Colormanagement. I've been in contact with "Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG" and they suggested to report this to Adobe as a bug.
They way it is you can not differenciate between images that don't have a profile and images that already have the correct profile. As a result all images get converted again in prepress - even those that already are in the correct profile.
If you have any further questions feel free to ask and i'll help out as good as i can :)
Thanks!

Missing color in PDF from InDesign
I have an InDesign file with a placed PSD file in it, which contains two spot colors. When I save the file as a PDF out of InDesign, only one of the two spot channels is visible.
I'm running the latest versions of InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat. To reproduce, open the attached InDesign file and save as a PDF. The resulting PDF should show a yellow and blue spot, but only the blue is visible. (The PDF generated during packaging also exhibits the problem.)

share for review completely broken in ID and online
Share for review is completely useless and does not work in the latest release on osX Tahoe. I can see the comments from clients listed in the panel, however they are not marked in the document and when clicked on them it does not show you where. So i have to open the comments in a browser (and its buggy even there!!!) and locate the reviews manuall.y. Also, when i update documents (also in AI), i always get a red popup saying that the file update has failed (although it does not fail and the changes are updated). Anyway, a horribly broken feature right now and im losing my mind over it.

Interactive PDF Buttons: Display Bug (InDesign 2026 v21.0.1)
InDesign 2026 v21.0.1
I've just verified and reproduced this interactive PDF button display bug by first confirming that several archived versions of the interactive PDF (created from archived InDesign Source files), all function perfectly and as expected. It is ONLY by opening one of those older, archived InDesign source file in the current 2026 v21.0.1 and exporting a new copy of that same Interactive PDF that the buttons all appear differently when clicked.
The expected result is to have interactive buttons that look clean and functional when clicked.
The actual result (only when exporting the Interactive PDF from the current version of InDesign, never before from previous versions), is that all the interactive buttons now show a black bounding box that surrounds and extends up above and beyond the boundaries of the buttons themselves. It's visual display bug specifically on buttons. This remains true even when the buttons DO NOT have any hover or click states assigned. It's a button element issue, not a visual state issue. (Although the Hover state has always been glitchy or "sticky" which is annoying, but not as bad as the black bounding box described here.
Screenshot examples from the exported interactive PDF have been provided.

PDF conversion
Still does not work with a simple remittance envelope we have - see attached screenshot. After the conversion, the entire document is black and all the fonts are missing. After every update of InDesign we try again and get the same results.

Copying/cutting a table causes InDesign 2026 to crash
Cutting and pasting tables causes InDesign to crash. This is especially true if there are any interactive elements in the table. You will receive crash reports every single time it crashes while I finish my work.

Moving Pages calls for use of Absolute Page Number
- InDesign 21.0.1 x64 (on Windows 11)
- I want to move a page from a document where I have changed the Numbering & Section Options so that the document includes multiple pages with the same page number. I open the document that includes the page I want to move, and open the document which will receive that page. I select a page in the pages panel, right click, and select "Move Page." The Move Pages dialog box appears, and I select the document and location where I want the page to be moved and click OK.
- The highlighted page will be copied to the correct location in the destination document.
- Instead, I receive an error message asking me to identify the correct page using the absolute page number. In earlier versions of InDesign, if I tried to use the Move Pages dialog box by simply typing in a page number, it would ask me to define the page using the absolute page number, but as long as I had highlighted the page I wanted to move and then activated the Move Page function, InDesign would automatically identify the page I wanted to move without asking me to define the absolute page number.
- I have uploaded images of the dialog box and the error message.

Share for Review fails to update - InDesign 2026
InDesign 2026 v21.0 (the latest update)
Creating a new Share for Review link works without issue. However, updating an existing review link consistently triggers the error: “There was an error updating the artifact.” When this happens, the review document does not update. The only way to refresh the content is by generating a new review link, which unfortunately removes all previously added comments.
This is not a new problem, it’s a recurring issue that has resurfaced for many users, seemingly starting again around late October. It’s extremely frustrating, especially since Share for Review has become an essential part of how we proof documents with our team and clients. Across our team of four, using slightly different setups, we all experience the same problem. At this point, the feature is practically unusable.
Is there a plan to fix this and restore full functionality to Share for Review?

Crashes while editing cross-references
- InDesign 21.0
- Select cross-reference in text (see screenshot)
- Double-click name of cross-reference in the panel to edit
- Entire program freezes and has to be force quit (waited for about 20 min.)
This happens with a couple of cross-references again and again. Some other cross-references work as they should.
Document uses >500 Cross-references on several layers1 vote -
Selecting placed file no longer selects that file in the Links window.
In InDesign 2025 and earlier, selecting a placed file (such as a placed Photoshop background) used to select and highlight that file in the Links window. In ID 2026, it no longer does that. This was an invaluable feature for those of us that have hundreds of linked files and need to use the Edit In function. Can you please bring back the feature.

MathML Rendering Error
In InDesign v21.0, the updated Maths Expressions Panel automatically inserts mathvariant="normal" into the root <math> element after I edit an equation using the new panel. This behaviour does not occur until the equation is edited in version 21.0, but once it happens, the MathML rendering is altered incorrectly.
Issue Details
When I open and edit an existing MathML equation in the new Maths Expressions Panel (v21.0), InDesign injects mathvariant="normal" into the <math> tag upon saving.
This overrides the default MathML behaviour and forces all <mi> elements to render upright (normal) instead of italic.• Manually deleting the attribute does not help—InDesign re-adds it every time I save or update the equation.
• Choosing Italic under Typefaces Properties → Font Style further breaks MathML rules by causing <mn> and <mo> elements to become italic, which is incorrect.
• The issue appears to originate from the new Font Style feature introduced in v21.0.Impact
Once an equation is edited in version 21.0, its typography becomes incorrect. This affects mathematical accuracy, consistency, and the overall quality of my project’s typesetting.Requested Fix

InDesign 21.0 black dot in red close button missing on macOS
- InDesign 21.0, macOS 15.7
- Open InDesign file, make a change.
- Black dot should appear in the title bar red "close" button along with asterisk by filename in document tab.
- Red "close" button remains "clean" without black dot.
InDesign 2025 (v.20.5) exhibits correct behavior. InDesign 2026 (v.21.0) does not.

When viewing an exported PDF images do not appear correctly
I'm using InDesign 2026 version 21.0. These bugs are new after the latest update. We create primary 36+ page booklets with lots of text and linked files: Illustrator files (linked as .AI), JPG/PNG images, and PDFs. When creating a PDF using Adobe PDF preset for smallest file size some pages do not appear correctly. One example is a linked InDesign file with text and graphics where some of the text is missing (text missing bug.PDF). Another example images that appear fine in InDesign and in print but render incorrectly on the PDF, this is also a linked InDesign file (images rendering bug.PDF). Sometimes InDesign freezes when making the PDF and I have to end the program through task manager. Other times I'm able to successfully make the PDF by creating multiple PDFs for one document i.e.: pages 1-15, pages 16-25, pages 26-36, then merging the PDF pages after. This is a cumbersome work around.
Before the latest update we had very few errors/crashes with creating PDF's in the exact same way. Please help!
