Spanning columns sometimes makes my text move to the next page
I'm trying to span some text and every time I do that text jumps to the next page. I have the keep options to anywhere so it's not a style sheet issue. This seems to be a new bug related to CC2019. Since I am using footnotes and it's going to be accessible I can't fake it and add another text box.

QR code generation updates
I love using the QR code generation. However, I am limited to only a few options. My suggestion is to add more options such as, upon scanning the code it would play an audio or a video file. Or, an option to redirect upon scanning to the App Store, or Play Store etc.

eyedropper tool
Using the eyedropper tool to select a color from the desired text is not working properly. Only strokes are painted with the desired color, not the text. It should like Illustrator's eyedropper tool which works perfectly. I have to use Illustrator's eyedropper tool to get the desired results I want.
4 votesHi,
Please can you confirm if the “Character Settings” are turned on in the Eyedropper options?
you can double click the eyedropper tool to check the eyedropper optionsThanks

Export as InDesignMarkup (IDML) ignores the color profile
When exporting an indd-file as an IDML-file we've experienced a problem. In the original file there's an embeded a specific color profile (ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)).
If we check the exported idml file we found out that InDesign ignores the specific color profile and resets the profile to it's standard profile (U.S. Web Coated (SWOP)) - which is not the desired profile and not suitable for our european print environment.That was the reason of some color problems with some printing stores or agencys we're working with in the past.
At this time we couldn't find a solution or…

Extendscript hangs CC2019 (14.0.2) on macOS
Code below works fine on Windows and CC 2018 on Mac. But CC 2019 Mac it hangs the app once clicking the OK button in window 2. I've tried three different Macs including Mojave and High Sierra. All the same result. Pretty sure it's not just me. This bug has broken a number of my scripts that present a secondary window for saving settings.
var w1 = new Window("dialog", "Window 1");
var btnOpenWindow2 = w1.add("button", undefined, "Open Window 2");
var btnOk1 = w1.add("button", undefined, "OK");
btnOpenWindow2.onClick = function () {
openWindow2();
};
btnOk1 = function () {
w1.close();
};
w1.show();…

Not all fonts are collected in a package.
This is for InDesign 14.0.2 x64
To reproduce the issue, package any file and be sure the include fonts option is ON.
Expected result is, as it ever was, that all fonts used in the document will be included in the "Fonts" folder of the resulting packaged file.
Actual result is that some or all of the fonts are omitted.

23.0.3 Adobe PDF Preset / Transparency Flattener Preset "Convert Text To Outlines" Not Working
In all previous versions of Illustrator and InDesign, when saving a PDF, I have been able to set my PDF settings to convert all text to outlines by checking "Convert All Text To Outlines" in my Adobe PDF preset. Since my recent update to 23.0.3, this feature is no longer working properly. The setting is still an option, however, upon save/export of the PDF, text is not converted to outlines as it previously was.
I have reached out to customer support for this issue and have been informed that this issue is "expected behavior of the software".
How is this…

GREP, odd behaviour in InDesign v. 14.0.2
Search and replace with GREP in InDesign version 14.0.2 behaves oddly.
This simple GREP used to work fine:
(?<=\s)([\u\s\,]+)$It matches upper case letters, commas and space between them at the end of a paragraph. But now it only matches some of them.
Really strange.

Stop making InDesign preferences default to rich black
Stop making the InDesign preferences default back to "rich black" under appearance of black whenever InDesign is updated, or the preferences are cleared. InDesign was originally created for print designers despite this expanding in this screen it should still default to " display all Blacks accurately", and "output all Blacks accurately". Since the change in the setting for print designers could end up costing quite a lot of money if not caught before it goes to press.

"Go back on roll over" interactive button state checked/greyed out
I was working on an interactive project and found that the "go back on roll over" option becomes turned on and greyed out so you cannot un-check the box when adding an "upon release" action to a button. I initially could NOT figure out why this was happening, and it was totally screwing up my on-click actions in my project.
Eventually, I think I figured out that it seems to happen when you create a button, add an "on roll over" action and check the box "go back on roll off", then create ANOTHER action (like "on click"), and then…

Selecting 'No language' from styles advanced options really exports the tag to EN in PDF
When you have a document with multiple languages and the main language isn't available in InDesign's presets, ie the document is mainly in Kirundi or Samoan and there are some English phrases, a user should be able to select 'No language' from the style's advanced options. Instead, 'No language' will export as EN and the tag in the PDF will have EN listed as the language in the tag's properties. This is problematic because the tag's language will override the document's language properties. This is a clear failure of WCAG SC 3.1.2 (language of parts).

"Unable to adjust document layout due to an error."
- Adobe InDesign CC 2019
- File >Adjust Layout > I select Custom page size; Auto-adjust margins to page size change; Options - adjust font size, adjust locked content.
- Expected result: page and all objects and fonts shrink from those I needed for a 8.5" x 11" (letter sized) doc. to 7.222" x 6" (6-column newspaper ad size) I need to produce a print-ready PDF for newspaper layout.
- Actual result: the error message "Unable to adjust document layout due to an error." (note: the preflight shows no errors, all links working, everything copacetic).
- See screen shots.

Keyboard shortcuts to change case not working on Windows
Keyboard shortcuts to change case of lines of text is no longer working. Apart from Alt-T to get up the text menu, I'm now having to use the mouse to select the further options to change to Title case. The sequence Alt-T-E-T, no longer works. As I frequently have many entries which need unifying each time I use it, this once useful feature is sorely missing. Please can you fix it Adobe?

crash
For several days we've had crashes while Indesign CC 2019 (14.0.01) being idle. Might be because links (*.psp and/or *.indd) are breaking due to network issues, but should not crash even so, just say links are broken. This has resulted in several files corrupted and cannot be restored even if those documents themselves are not affected by the broken links. The Indesign temp-files also seem to become corrupt (often showing 0 byte size).
I've sent several crash reports and heard nothing.
4 votesTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Short Cut Keys no longer work in Indesign 2019
Indesign 2019
Most of the old standard short cut keys no longer work and I cannot find anywhere what the new ones are or if I can change to a legacy mode. I'm talking basic old school short cuts like "space" to bring up the hand tool temporarily and the "shift" key to proportionately scale an object. Can anyone help me out with this as my productivity is grinding to a halt and I am not happy one bit.4 votes -

PDF Export causes Acrobat to crash
I am having trouble exporting InDesign files to PDF.
This is what I'm seeing:
Exporting PDFs from InDesign works fine if no PDF is open. If you have a PDF already open or are exporting a 2nd PDF with the first still open it crashes Adobe.I have updated Windows to a later version, checked drivers, the event viewer logs. I looked for similar issues online, repaired Acrobat from Control panel and from within the app.
Please share any advice.
4 votesHi,
Please let us know if it the InDesign application crashing or Acrobat?
If it is Acrobat, please post it here: acrobat.uservoice.comThanks,
