Interaction between Text Wrap, Optical Margin Alignment and Numbered List
When a text frame with activated Optical Margin Alignment containing numbered list wraps around another text frame the numbering is incorrectly aligned. The affected numbers noticeably stick outside of the text frame and thus create unpleasant left margin. Only numbering on wrapped lines is affected, numbering below the wrap behaves as expected.
Similarly, if the text frame is modified so as its border lays entirely outside of the area affected by wrapping offset, the optical alignment of the numbering behaves as expected. This at least provides some workaround.
I am attaching a screenshot of the behaviour as well as a test file with described situations.

"Feedback Menu" is Blocking
The Feedback Menu appears to be programmed to be thread blocking - while it is active, users are unable to drag and drop images into their canvas. On closing the feedback menu "how likely are you to recommend indesign...", the images that the user has attempted to drag and drop into the canvas are populated. This can be confusing if the feedback menu is minimized or not apparently open to the user.

Title Case Is Not Actually Title Case
I'm editing book with over 1,000 pages. I am selecting copy, changing case to Title Case, but it just capitalizes first letter in all words. There needs to be another case option. Title case needs to be setup so it makes a "title" of a book so words like "of" are not capitalized. New option can be called First Letter Caps, and Title case can be fixed to address words that should not be capitalized in a title of a book or headline.
The Old Man and the Sea (Actual Title Case) The Old Man And The Sea(Not Title Case)
I have been going to a website to copy and paste content so it will generate correct Title Case results. Total waste of time. Please fix this!

page layout panel not scolling
Pages Panel does not scroll to all pages in document, whether in horizontal or layout view. If panel is enlarged and the pages all fit, you can see them. If you shrink the pages to a smaller size (from jumbo to extra large) and they fit in the view panel, you can see them. But if it is a large document (more than 25 or so pages) you cannot scroll far enough to view pages past about 25 in extra large view.
Fully updated version InDesign 20.3.1. on Mac.
Every file I open is like this. Most files were created in an older version, but have been converted and saved. I have tried exporting as an idml file, but that does not work.

text won't appear over a pdf or imported image
when i import an image or a pdf, any text that i try to have over it (such as putting a page number in the corner of the page) disappears. it's not that the text doesn't appear when the imported file isn't there, just that it is disappearing as it goes "beneath" the image or pdf. sending the imported file to back or the text to front does nothing.

transparency .ai
I work with the latest illustrator (29.5. 1) and InDesign (20.3. 1). Since the last updates an .ai imported in InDesign is no longer transparent. If I save it as .eps in Ai, then yes. Please solve otherwise I would have to convert all my previously made .ai files.

image box not working
When drawing image frame, the option to link an image no longer appears. Can only insert images in the document by using Place option from menu drop down. There should be a button that shows when I draw an image box that gives me option to link in a image from files- a new image or relink an image. Neither of these is available.

Footnotes display spanning columns correctly, don't print across both columns
First time I've had to use the footnote options in InDesign. I have several pages with footnotes which occur at the bottom of each page in each associated text block. Span across columns is checked in both the Footnote Style I created, as well as in the Layout options. The footnotes display correctly on screen as intended. (See second screenshot)
When I print spreads from InDesign to an Epson P5000, the footnotes only print the text that is under the lefthand column. All of the footnote text on the right disappears. (See first screenshot)
Exporting the pages to a PDF generates the file as it shows on screen, and the resulting file prints to the same printer as expected. The footnotes are reproduced properly from the PDF file. I used a PDF X/1a file as that is what the printer needs.
This appears to be a bug in InDesign's printing capabilities.
See the two screen shots to see the problem.
I checked for updated drivers for the Epson P5000, and updated the driver the current file 13.26. Restarted Mac, tried printing the file again. Same result. Display is correct, print output is missing footnotes spanning the second column.
I checked for updated firmware, and updated it the N027N2. Restarted Mac, tried printing the file again. Same result. Display is correct, print output is missing footnotes spanning the second column.InDesign 20.3.1
Mac Sonoma 14.6.1This bug was corroborated by another user in the community forums as repeatable.
On first post, the server rejected my post. I deleted the screen shots.

Changing Description in Buttons Does Not Stick
A description is needed in buttons for accessibility. This works fine if you add the description when you first create the button but if you try to edit the description it does not not stick. The only workaround is to recreate the button from scratch.

Buttons on Parent Pages Create Form Field Errors in Acrobat
Using buttons on parent pages, e.g. for navigation, throws up 'Tagged form fields' errors in Acrobat. These have to be manually tagged as links, which is a nightmare in a large document with multiple buttons per page.
It's not clear whether all parent pages create this error or whether it's confined to parent pages based on another parent page.

Indesign is freezes when a window opens.
Using Indesign Version 20.3.1, Whenever I open any pop up menu (e.g. paragraph styles, text frame options, Export window), Indesign will freeze and I get the spinning wheel on my Mac running macOS 15.4.1.
It happens maybe 1 in 3 times and I have to force quit indesign and reopen.
I have tried Resetting settings and preferences
Uninstalled and re-installed Indesign (this helped for about a week) then it started again.I've never had this happen before and now it is driving me insane.

glyphs
InDesign V20.3.1. (Windows) crashes when opening (or attempting to open) the Glyphs panel. The crash is consistently reproducible and definitely impacting production. The panel opens but remains blank (nothing displayed), then a few seconds later, InDesign crashes.

Bug Report – PDF Export from Book Produces Low-Resolution Images (InDesign 20.x+)
Product Version:
Adobe InDesign 2025 (version 20.x and later)
Operating System:macOS 15.4
Summary:Exporting a PDF directly from a book (.indb) using book.exportFile() produces a PDF with low-resolution images, even though the source links are updated and the documents contain high-resolution images. This issue started occurring in version 20.x and was not present in earlier versions.
Steps to Reproduce:Create a book (.indb) containing multiple documents with high-resolution images. Update links in the individual documents. Use book.exportFile(ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE, ...) to export the entire book as a PDF. The output PDF contains low-resolution images, noticeable especially when printing or zooming in.
Expected Result:
The exported PDF should contain images at full resolution, matching the quality of PDFs exported from individual documents using doc.exportFile().
Actual Result:PDF exported from the book contains low-resolution images, differing from PDFs exported from individual documents.
Workaround:Currently, the issue can be avoided by first merging the documents from the book into a single INDD file, updating the links, and then exporting the PDF from that merged document.
Attached Script:// Repro script for PDF export issue from Book in InDesign 20.x+
try {
// Select the book file
var indbFile = File.openDialog("Select a book file (.indb)", "*.indb");
if (!indbFile) throw "No file was selected.";// Open the book var book = app.open(indbFile); if (book.bookContents.length === 0) throw "The book contains no documents."; // Update links in each document of the book for (var i = 0; i < book.bookContents.length; i++) { var content = book.bookContents[i]; var doc = app.open(content.fullName, true); var links = doc.links; for (var j = 0; j < links.length; j++) { if (links[j].status === LinkStatus.LINK_OUT_OF_DATE || links[j].status === LinkStatus.LINK_MISSING) { links[j].update(); } } doc.save(); doc.close(SaveOptions.NO); } // Select PDF export preset (first available) if (app.pdfExportPresets.length === 0) throw "No PDF presets found."; var pdfPreset = app.pdfExportPresets[0]; // Choose folder to save PDF var outputFolder = Folder.selectDialog("Select folder to save PDF"); if (!outputFolder) throw "No folder was selected."; var outputFile = File(outputFolder + "/" + indbFile.name.replace(/\.indb$/, "") + "_export_from_book.pdf"); book.exportFile(ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE, outputFile, false, pdfPreset); alert("Export from book completed: " + outputFile.fsName); book.close(SaveOptions.NO);
} catch (e) {
alert("Error: " + e);
}Additional Notes:
The problem started with InDesign version 20.x. Exporting PDFs from individual INDD documents works correctly. Previous versions of InDesign did not exhibit this issue.

InDesign Help redirects to Adobe Tutorials Webpage Instead of Showing Tool Location in Menus
I use InDesign a lot, but I don't always remember the location of EVERY tool. Sometimes I just forget the submenu it's in, and go to the search bar so it will show me where the tool is in the program. For some reason, in InDesign ONLY, it will instead redirect me to the Adobe Tutorials website. Often it doesn't even have a tutorial for what I'm looking for, or it takes me to a completely unrelated tutorial.
This means I either have to read through the whole tutorial and hope that there is an image of the submenu with the tool I need, or I have to google it and find another tutorial. Or, I can go through every menu and submenu one by one in indesign. Even though I have used this program for years my ADHD means I will often forget exactly where a tool is even though I use it a lot. And it's a huge, HUGE disruption because instead of instantly finding the tool, it takes me 5-15 minutes to find something that wouldn't even be an issue in any other program.
I am NOT on MacOS, so the language/region issue does not solve it for me. I'm on Windows 11. I am so, so frustrated that this small, weird bug/glitch/choice is SUCH a huge interruption and it hasn't been fixed FOR YEARS.
