   2. Steps: Layout ID document with images. Add Alt Text to images under IPTC Core/Alt Text (Accessibility) in Bridge. Place images in ID. Check for Alt Text under Object/Object Export Options/Alt Text. Alt Text is there under From XCP: Alt Text (Accessibility). Export document to reflowable ePub.
   3. Expected result: Check html. Alt Text appears in the alt tags (alt="").
   4. Actual result: alt tags are empty.

5. Reveal in Bridge not works

   In the image context menu, bridge preview does not work if the image name contains apostrophe characters.
   Bridge will not show a file with this name: abc '123' name.jpg
   and if there are no apostrophe characters it works (abc 123 name.jpg)

7. InDesign 20.4 Windows 11 Bug. UXP Plugin Panel and Dialog have incorrect behavior of html SELECT tag

   InDesign 20.4 Windows 11: After updating from version 20.3.1 to 20.4 UXP, the plugin, which worked fine in the previous version, now has problems with displaying dialogs and panels, namely:
   all SELECT tags on a panel are stopped responding to modification.
   Version 20.3.1 does not exhibit these problems; dialogs and panels display SELECT tags correctly and respond to user modifications.
   In version 20.4, SELECT tags respond only by changing the border color to blue; the list is not displayed at all. It is impossible to change the selected list item. In the dialog, this behavior is observed in all elements.
   Reinstalling version 20.4 did not solve the problem. The incorrect behavior of the application persists.
   Beta and release version 20.3.1: The plugin behaves normally.

8. Variable Fonts in inDesign show different hinting results when compared to other environments

   InDesign v20.3.1 x64, Windows 11

   It appears that inDesign is maybe not able to correctly variate CVT values, causing unexpected hinting results. It seems as though CVT values that are used depend on the variable font’s default style/source. A possible way to recreate the issue: Compare the same variable font built in the same way but with a different default source set for each. If Hair (weight: 100) is set as the default, then it will appear in inDesign as if the Regular (weight: 400) is maybe using the CVT values of the Hair. This is shown in the first screenshot. It is not possible to recreate this issue in another environment such as Chrome. You would expect the choice of default style to not have any effect on the hinting result.

   Also attached is a screenshot that looks at the difference between a static and variable version of a Windows font: Segoe UI. Although this example is less valuable as it does not show as stark of a visual difference as the first screenshot and the static and variable versions are not exact matches, it stands to show a difference in variable font hinting that I found difficult to recreate in other environments outside of inDesign, possibly alluding to inDesign doing something unique with how it handles hinting in variable fonts.

   The screenshot examples use 18pt size text.

9. Separations Preview is not displaying any values

   EDIT:
   I appear to have resolved the issue by uninstalling some Dell software that was pre-installed on my workstation. Why or how that would interfere with InDesign I have no idea but colour this resolved.

   I'm having an issue with the Separations Preview panel not showing any percentage values, it's just blank. I think it started after updating from 20.3 to 20.3.1; but I installed versions back to 19.0 to test and it strangely seems to be effecting those versions too.

   Widows 11, all updates current.

   A web search showed this issue has popped up in that past and I follow the advice given (deleting caches fixed it for one).
   I've deleted caches
   Reset preferences
   Uninstalled/reinstalled
   etc.

   Nothing so far has fixed the issue.

10. "Open Recent" broken in 20.4

    EDIT 2:

    I updated this post to say it was resolved after I removed some dell software which also fixed an issue I had with the Separations Preview panel. However, I forgot that I had reverted to 20.3 - after updating again to 20.4 this is still an issue.

    The Open Recent menu is not opening the file I click on but is opening a random file from the list.

    I thought this might be something to do with the new GPU performance feature but it happens with it disabled.

11. paragraph style override with archivo font

    I have setup a set of paragraph styles with different usage, but all of them can't be applied to my document. It keeps on giving me archivo black which is not the setting. During setup, all of them works well, but once applied to new textbox, regardless of what font that i chose, it will only give me archivo black font

    I have an RTX a1000 video card, and InDesign does not recognize it, even though it is supposed to support the new InDesign GPU according to the data

    Thank you for reporting the issue. InDesign currently has a limitation of showing only 1 GPU card in the InDesign Preferences. Internally we pick the necessary Graphic card for rendering. It is currently under investigation.

15. leave User Workspaces ALONE

    Leave User Workspaces ALONE!! Updates should automatically grab the current workspaces and copy them in, STOP trying to shove three versions of "essentials" down our throats. Not all of us have admin access, so deleting after every update isnt an option. It also stops non-admin users from migrating manually. To say this is frustrating would be an understatement.

    "Essentials" is TRASH, but every **** update removes any custom ones I have (YES even if I choose migrate, it doesnt do anything so I stopped bothering) and force it into "Essentials". Just STOP. You DO NOT know our workspaces better than us. This shouldnt be difficult, but Adobe has been doing this for years, and now InDesign 2025 has THREE different Essentials? Thats missing the point entirely and then congratulating yourself for it.

16. DA NUOVO DOCUMENTO CAMBIA FORMATO UNA VOLTA IMPOSTATO

    Ci sono una serie di bug irrisolti da tempo:
    Cambio di formato.
    Se si scrive del testo in un nuovo documento in automatico scrive con colore registro e non solo nero
    Indesign è lento a selezionare le finestre di testo o immagini utilizzando un mac di ultimissima generazione con 16 gb di ram
    Si blocca diverse volte in fase di impostazione nuovo documento
    sistemate per cortesia che è da mesi che ci sono questi problemi

17. [ID-4265137] Can't override the keyboard shortcut (shift-e) for GPU preview

    Go to Keyboard Shortcuts, to View > GPU Preview toggle and delete the Default context shift-e shortcut (as it's already used in my set for Reveal in Bridge). Save, works fine for that session, forgets next restart.

18. [ID-4265002][ExtendScript] Folder.execute() no longer works in Indesign 20.4

    Folder.execute() no longer reveals the folder and activate the Finder. It does nothing. Tested on Indesign 20.4 on MacOS 15.5.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Run this ExtendScript:

    
        Folder.desktop.execute();
    
    

    Expected result: activating the Finder, revealing the Desktop folder.

    Actual result: nothing.

19. [ID-4264855] Issue with Animated Zoom in GPU

    New PC GPU zoom doesn't seem to centre the zoom on the cursor leading to not super useful behaviour (you have to zoom and then drag with the hand tool to get back to what you were originally trying to zoom into). It's very disorientating.

20. [ID-4264967] ExternalObject("lib:PlugPlugExternalObject") now throw an “I/O Error”
