1. Share for Review: there was an error updating the artifact. NOT updating!

   Adobe InDesign CC 2024

   I am working a magazine. The size is pretty large, lots of pictures. I was able to create the Share for Review link, and share it. But I am unable to update. Although, I copy the link, open the address in Google Chrome and my edits show. When I mark a pin resolved, it does not show in my indesign file.

2. Indesing 2024: Opentype Superscript not working for Endnote Markers

   Indesign 2024:
   Opentype Superscripts don’t apply to endnote marker via character style

   When working with end- or footnotes, instead of using the default settings, I usually create specific character styles for the markers in the text.
   In these settings, I use the typeface’s native opentype settings to define a superscript number.

   In the latest version 19.0.1, I can define all these features in a character style and it works when applying to a number, but the character style can’t be applied to an endnote marker (it however works with a footnote marker).

   This is a very annoying bug. I can't think of a workaround except going back to Indesign 2023 and I really need this to work

3. Share for review comments moved after file update

   Comments are no longer in the correct position after update to INDD file.... I entered a few line returns and replaced a space with a non-breaking space after a few words, going manually through the search and replace. Going backwards with the edits doesn't help.

5. InDesign crashes when restoring a spread/page that contains a selected table with an xml tag

   Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server:
   InDesign 2023/2024

   Steps to reproduce the issues

   1. Create a 2nd page
   2. Create a table on that page
   3. Tag the table with an xml tag
   4. Select the table
   5. Delete that spread/page
   6. Try to undo that delete spread/page

   Expected result

   InDesign does not crash

   Actual result

   InDesign crashes

   We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

6. InDesign do not read EXIF metadata on captions from jpeg exported from PS

   Tested on Adobe InDesign 19.0.1 on macOS Ventura

   Steps:

   I save an image on PS as JPEG and preserve the metadata
   I place that image on InDesign.
   The file info panel is showing the metadata
   I configure and generate the caption with the ISO speed
   The caption do not show any info about the ISO speed

   When working with psd or pdf it works fine. When working with JPEG not created from PS or Lightroom works fine.

7. Incorrect reading order for anchored objects

   InDesign is placing text and objects in the incorrect reading order when exporting to accessible PDF when an anchored object is anywhere but at the bottom of the page. Instead of placing the anchored object/group of objects in the correct order, it is placing them at the end of the reading order. An example would be an anchored group of a placed Illustrator graph and it's title text box.

8. Reading order of footnotes is incorrect for multi-column layouts

   InDesign is not placing footnotes correctly in the reading order when generating accessible PDFs for layouts with more than one column. Instead of placing the footnotes at the bottom of the page's reading order, InDesign is placing them at the end of the first column, interrupting the reading order.

   Also, after correcting the reading order by placing the footnote(s) at end, Acrobat reports a 'Tagged Annotations - Failed' error for the footnote or the first footnote in a block of footnotes when it is a hyperlink.

9. Incorrect coding of ligatures in placed Illustrator files

   InDesign is not encoding ligatures in placed Illustrator files correctly when generating accessible PDFs via the Export/Adobe PDF (Interactive) command. Accessibility Check in Acrobat reports all ligatures in Illustrator files as 'Character Encoding - Failed'.

10. End nested style here character appears in bookmarks as empty rectangle

    When I use End nested style character in headings, these are exported into bookmarks as empty characters. They have no meaning in bookmarks.

11. InDesign links panel not working since 12/8/2023 update

    Since updating Classic InDesign yesterday, I cannot create links at all, not in the menu and not in the links panel. Win11, InDesign 18.5.1x64. Lost all linkage functioning within InDesign files.

12. Export - Jpg - Page Size - Suffix

    Love the new update where you can change the export options to include a specific Suffix, however could you remove the spaces between the sizes in the Page Size Suffix export? For example, 700 x 200 would be 700x200. This will help speed up the process in file naming as we can not have spaces in files names in any graphics for our websites.

13. first keystroke is missing after pasting text

    The Show Paste Options setting eats the first keystroke after pasting text. Turn this setting OFF and the problem disappears. Turn it on and you will think you're going crazy.

    1. InDesign CC 19.0.1 on macOS Ventura 13.6.1 (22G313) on Apple Silicon M2 Pro

    2. Create a new document with a text field. Make sure Show Paste Options is checked (in Preferences » Clipboard Handling... » Show Paste Options)

    3. In this example (see attached video), after pasting text, I typed "5" twice. I should see two "5"s following the pasted text.

    4. The first "5" does not register. Only the second "5" appears when I press it a second time. But turn "Show Paste Options" OFF and you will see two "5"s.

    Description:
    Text error when a soft return is used at the end of one sentence, the following text will place the full stop at the wrong end of the text.

15. New document

    When I want to create a new document via the "File" > "New" dialog box, a document setting appears to create a document. The entire program remains stuck. I can then force close In-Design and restart it. As a result, open files are lost. To create a new document I can only open an existing document and save it again as "save as",

16. Apple text replacement does not work in indesign

    Mac M2
    Sonoma 14.2
    Indesign 19.0.1

    Mac text replacement does not work in Indesign nor Illustrator.

    How can I change this? What is blocking this in the Adobe programs?

    (EXAMPLE: on every other program on the Mac when I type wf, it replaces it with the word wayfinding)

17. Variable Font Italic Slider Not Working Correctly

    Adobe InDesign ver.19.0.1

    The variable weight for CC Regeneration (distributed through Adobe Fonts) is not working correctly in InDesign. The italic slider is not adjusting all data points correctly and the capital "I" glyph is not affected at all.
    The variable font works correctly in Illustrator.

18. table indent

    19.0.1 - The default table loads with an 8 pica left indent. Creating a table from text also loads an 8 pica indent but I could not find a way to alter that. In the styling it showed 0 indent. I was able to adjust the default table but not the one I created from text. I deleted preferences and there was no change. Please fix.

19. Scrolling issues

    Scrolling up and down in a document and in the pages widow etc stopped working after v 19.0.1 was installed. Same with alt + scroll to zoom in and out. (PC/Windows).

20. Indesign Crashes when scrolling

    When I scroll pages using the keyboard, Indesign keeps crashing. The document has photos, but not excessively high resolution and I'm viewing on typical display mode.
