1. document window turns white while scoping within text box

   after upgrade to sonoma 14.1.2 (running INDD 19.0.1), while scoping text - everything inside the document window goes away to white only and, reappears when releasing input device. this makes it impossible to select exact sections of text. it does not occur while double clicking to select an entire line. It did not occur until this morning after upgrading OS.

2. Please Support Folder Tags for Mac OS

   Finder Tags in Mac OS are used to quickly filter documents and folders in Application dialog boxes, as well as in the finder itself. Folder tags have never worked with InDesign, despite the function being supported by other CC apps. I use folder tags all of the time to organize artwork, as well as documents. Please fix this.

3. Relink missing image - InDesign shows wrong file name

   If an image (a link) is missing in the InDesign document, then there is a red circle with a white question mark on the image in the document and on the link in the Links panel. When I double click on the red circle in the Links panel, a file explorer window opens, and that window shows the right image file name in the "File name" text field. But if I double click the red circle that is on the image inside the InDesign document, then the file explorer shows the wrong file name. It shows the name of the file I relinked the time before.

4. Master page Items on left page missing when overriden on right page's master page when both master pages are based on the same parent

   OK, this bug is INCREDIBLY specific, but unfortunately is completely breaking my project. Example PDF below and INDD file in Google Drive folder here:

   I'm trying to make a multilingual instructions manual (A4, facing pages, 3mm bleed on all sides) with tabs on the page edges for each language. I have one master page "A-Gabarit" which has all the general layout elements and all the language tabs grayed out, and for each language, I have a master page based on A where I override the one tab for that language to color it black (so the EN master page is based on A and has the EN tab overridden, the FR master page is also based on A and has the FR tab overridden and so on)

   What's happening is that depending on how the spread's pages have their master page assigned, some objects dissapear when they shouldn't:
   - If both the left and right pages have A master, everything displays fine
   - If the left page has A master, and the right has EN master, then anything from A that was overridden in the EN master dissappears from the left page, the rest remains.
   - If the left page has EN master, and the right has A master, then everything works fine.
   - If both pages start with A master, and any other master page is applied to the right page, objects overridden in the right page's template will dissappear from the left, even though they were there right before. They reappear if the right page's template is switched back to A again.
   - Finally, and worst part: if the left page has EN master, and the right page has FR master, objects from common parent A master that were not overridden in EN, but were overridden in FR, will dissappear from the left page, so it doesn't actually matter that the left page has the parent master page or another child master based on the same parent, just that it shares elements from the same parent master page as the right page

   The issue only ever appears on the left page

   PDF output is affected, it's not just a display issue.

   My workaround, so far, is to duplicate the colored tabs in each child variant on top of the existing one instead of trying to override them, so that the original is preserved and doesn't dissappear on the left page, or alternately, rebuild all master pages with no "based on X" relation and no overrides, defeating the purpose of having master pages based on other master pages (ouch)

   I'm guessing that when applying master pages on the right page, InDesign is handling overrides on a spread-level instead of a page level, which is problematic when both pages of a spread are using different master pages based on the same parent master page (this has never been an issue for me up until now). Expected behaviour would be for each page to show their own master page content in any context without interference from the facing page.

6. Tools disappear in InDesign Beta

   My tools that are supposed to be on the left side disappear sometimes. I close the app and open it again but still nothing. I'm using the normal InDesign now and it's working well. I'm using an Intel Mac.

7. InCopy cannot export assets that were inserted from CC Library into PDF - link reported as missing

   The only way to export Notes from InDesign into PDF is to use InCopy, however exporting to PDF form InCopy is now compromised, because any assets in the document inserted from CC Library are reported as missing.

9. InDesign 19.0.1 hangs when trying to place image. Mac Sonoma M2 chip.

   We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already using it) as it is more robust.

10. Replaced text (when using Track Changes) in a table will crash InDesign/InCopy 2024 when switching to text views

    To recreate (See attached images):

    1. Create a simple table in InDesign and add some content to one cell, then activate Track Changes.
    2. Select the content and replace it with new content, then select to switch to "Story Editor".

    What occurs:
    1. InDesign will completely freeze up and needs to be forced to quit.
    2. This will also happen (in the same set up) if you are using InCopy and switch to either "Story" or "Galley" view.

    Comments:
    It seems that this is triggered by the graphics that highlight the removed/new text. If you are not showing the colors in any of the text views then the applications will not crash. This cannot be replicated in any older version of InDesign/InCopy.

    2. Step 2.

11. Document Window and Pasteboard Disappear

12. Flashing screen on selecting text

    Adobe InDesign 2024

    When highlighting text with text tool or selecting multiple items with the selection tool and dragging with the mouse held down, the screen flashes rapidly between the document and plain white - this makes the ID document contents not visible on the screen so you can't actually see what you are doing - eg can't see what text is being highlighted

    Please fix asap - it is making ID virtually unusable!

13. Bookmarks are incorrect

    My bookmarks don't match my Table of Contents. Some titles are in the wrong order, and some will send you to the wrong page.

    Steps to reproduce:
        1. Update ToC

    Expected: ToC to be in the correct order in the Bookmarks panel.

14. inDesign screen flashing on M2 Mac mini

    InDesign screen flashing on M2 Mac mini.

    The screen flashed when selecting text, moving objects, using marque select.
    Turning off rulers helps a lot. I've read that turning on/off GPU performance will solve this issue. The option is grayed out within inDesign but is available on Illustrator and Photoshop.

15. Find and change transliterate

    The new feature that has been recently added is the transliterate tab in the find and change dialogue box. Instead of Hindi digits, farsi digits are there. Please correct this issue. Also it would be very useful to add and Bengali digits.

16. [ID-4255452] Text variables with modification date not working when saved to Cloud.

    I created a text variable to update the date when the document is modified. When I opened my document in the beta version of InDesign, the text frame for my text variable was empty. I tried to re-enter the variable, and I tried making a new variable. When I selected a variable that included the current date, it would not appear. I created a Modification Date text variable and a custom text variable based on the Modification date. They appeared correctly. I saved the InDesign doc to the cloud. Once I applied a paragraph style, the text disappeared in both boxes.

18. InDesign 19.0.1 Crashes When Exporting Stories to InCopy

    I have just set up a new MacBook Pro running InDesign 19.0.1 on Sonoma (pre-installed). Every time I attempt to export .icml stories from a layout file to my SMB Synology share, the file crashes and InDesign quits. When a co-worker on Monterey does the same thing with the same file, the .icml stories export normally.

    I have tried exporting individual text frames rather than "export all stories" and got the same result. I've tried exporting the stories from a different local .indd file to my computer and got the same result.

    What else should I try? Reinstall InDesign?

19. Adobe must immediately prioritize the RENDER OF FILE THUMBNAIL PREVIEW of .indd file on Mac Desktop/finder

    How can a an application of visual asset creation not render a visual preview thumbnail on Mac OS Finder? This is patently absurd and frustrating beyond comprehension! Please prioritize the RENDERING OF A THUMBNAIL PREVIEW for all INDD Files on Mac OS!!

20. last letter in text frame disappears from PDF Hebrew

    We're having issues with the last letter or the punctuation at the end of a sentence disappearing when the file is exported as a PDF. Primarily happens with right-to-left language, we're using Hebrew.
    Been happening since the update to 19.0 onward.
