1. Mouse very slow during mail merge

   When exporting to a PDF using Indesign Mail Merge, the mouse is very slow, even if in other programs. That makes the computer unusable during export of large PDF's.

   I found that only when the Windows Task Manager is on the front, the mouse acts normal again, but when I the Task Manager loses focus, the mouse is slow again.

   We have this problem on our Windows PC's. On my Mac it works fine.

   We use the latest Indesign (15.0.1)

6. Crashes on opening document created in indd 2019

   Crashed as soon as I opened a document from 2019. After several tries, I was able to open the same document successfully, but it didn't recognize fonts in the Document fonts folder. It didn't matter whether it was opened from within InDesign or from the Finder. The successful attempt was from the Finder.

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.

7. InDesign 2020: crashing, undo doesn't work, missing fonts, text wrap is broken, so many bugs

   The Undo bug is back. I tried to undo some text (in a table) and it reverted the document back to the previous save and then crashed.

   On re-opening, ID complains that it can't find my installed fonts that I used in the document. They show up in the document, it just complains that they are not there. These are fonts that I bought and installed, so I know they are available.

   I have also been having problems with text wrap not working half the time. I set a box (I've tried both image and text boxes) to text wrap and nothing will happen. Text still flows under the box. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it suddenly starts working on things that wouldn't text wrap the day before, so there is no way to try to repeat the bug to figure out the trigger.

   Also, the mechanism to convert a 2020 document back to 2019 so I can actually get things done with working software doesn't work, go fig. It crashed when I tried to use it.

   InDesign 15.0.1
   MacOS 10.15.3

   As per the customer, the issue got resolved by uninstall and re installation of InDesign 2020.

8. Mixed usage Left-to-right and Right-to-left text in the same paragraph

   Ms Word files can contain Right-To-Left and Left-To-Right text in the same paragraph. When copy/pasting the text into Indesign, only one of the 2 textdirections is displayed correctly.

   Creating the text frame which uses the Right-to-Left text direction, and using the World Ready composer, the corresponding text is displayed well. Inline phrases in English, are displayed wrong. Changing the composer to regular Single line composer fixes the English phrases, but messes up the foreign language.

   When using different paragraphs, each with the corresponding composer, all works well. When a combination is used in a single paragraph, it can't be fixed.

9. Resize Pages Tool does not work

   The resize pages tool does not work. The page size always jumps back to its initial size. You always have to enter the size manually. Also the resizing from an anchor point of the page does not work properly. Especially elements outside the artboard (for example in the info section) don't place accordingly.

10. Suddenly my document reverts to an earlier version

    Ever since I updated Adobe InDesign to version 15.0.1, my current document suddenly reverts to a state from several minutes prior. All of my recent changes are gone, up to ten minutes, and they are not even available under Edit > Redo.

    I've started saving more often now. Recently, this problem happened again. It suddenly went back to an earlier state than I had last saved, so I closed without saving, reopened, and the file was exactly in the state I expected, which was a LATER state than my document had reverted itself to (thank goodness), but not where I was before the problem happened.

    I find myself having to figure out, over and over again, what changes I've made to my document for the last ten minutes so that I can do the same thing over again. I have to save between each step!! This is not good!

11. Falha ao exportar arquivo PDF

    Quando estou finalizando meu projeto de revista, exporto para pdf em baixa resolução para revisão. Tanto a versão de baixa resolução quando de alta resolução não estão sendo exportados para PDF. Gostaria de saber o que devo fazer para conseguir exportar.

13. In Japanese version, "Column" is incorrectly translated as "列" instead of "段"

    There are at least eight places where "Column" should be translated as "段" in the Japanese version, but "列".

14. InDesign 2020 v15.01 makes corrupt documents when using Alternate Layout

    The "Create Alternate Layout" in indesign 2020 v15.01 is toxic.

    After using it, chances are high that documents will at some later stage become corrupt. It may manifest itself by crashing on copy/paste or just a spinning beachball of death (Mac).

    I have seen this on at least 20 different documents since upgrading from version 2019 to version 2020 (15.0.1). We never used version 15.0.

    This is my guess on what happens:
    Using "Create Alternate Layout" it will make some of the Paragraph Styles corrupt. Version 2020 seems to crash (beachball) whenever one of these are accessed. This might very well be when you open the document, making the whole document inaccessable. It also might happen at a later stage, a minute or two after you have opened the document. (Maybe when some routine tries to read some of the corrupt text styles?)

    Maybe "Copy Text Styles to New Group" is also involved in the plot.

    We are using fairly advanced Paragraph styles with nested styles, based on styles, grep styles, rules etc.

    If I try to use ID 2019 to open the corrupt document using the "Convert" feature, it will somewhat surprisingly likely manage to do so. As opposed to v2020 that only crashes. It will however delete most or all of the Paragraph Styles and assign Standard to all text leaving the document a royal mess. We have not tried to continue to work on such a "Salavaged" document, so if it is still "usable" I do not know.

    Using the exact same features on the same documents in version 2019 never produced such corrupt documents. This has been rampant since upgrading to v2020.

16. Text options greyed out when I select more than one box that are linked.

    Text options greyed out when I select more than one box that are linked using selection tool. For example I want to select 3 linked text boxes and change the text colour. The [T] button in the colours panel is greyed out. So is font, etc. Means that I have go into each box and select the text requires extra click. Did not use to be this way in CC2019. Please fix.

17. Opening Files InDesgin Freezes

    Adobe InDesign CC 2020 15.0.01 Mac

    Trying to open a file that was packaged in Indesign CC 2018, When opening Indesign Freezes and does nothing.

    Expected result: opening a file correctly with minor delay
    Actual Result: Indesign just freezes.

    NOTE: in the video an other file that i tried to open earlier but after force quiting the file opens as an Untitled file.

18. Screen error with High Quality Display turned ON

    Pages do not display correctly when viewing ("High Quality Display" with "Overprint Preview" turned OFF). Bands of blank screen occur randomly on the screen.
    However objects display correctly when "Overprint Preview" is turned ON.

    This occurs in both InDesign 14.02 and continues to 15.0.1

19. AIGPUSniffer crashing while launching InDesign 2020 on macOS Catalina

    I was wondering if anyone can help me when I startup Indesign 2020. The AIGPUSniffer quits unexpectedly. I am running Mac Catalina 10.15.3. You could see it because a system icon jumps at the dock, and if I try to reopen, it keeps quitting.

    I have a new Macpro 16inch with the GPU AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB.

    This problem is only happening in Indesign, no in other adobe applications.

    I even tried to uninstall Indesign and reinstalled, but the problem persists.

    I also tried the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, where I have to uninstall everything.

    Also, try turning off the GPU Performance in Preferences.

    It is very frustrating to pay a subscription for and application that is not working correctly.

    I have read many things in various forums, but this problem is not very clear if I need to do something and what?

    Please help.!!!😁

20. App Switcher

    When I use app switcher on MacBook Pro, Catalina, InDesign 15.0.1, I cannot get over to InDesign. I have to use Mission Control, then click on the Desktop to which I have assigned InDesign. I would appreciate if that could be fixed. Gary
