Style shortcuts keep disappearing
InDesign 13.1.1
I'm not sure what is going on but it's been happening for a while now. The only way I've been able to fix it has been to trash my preferences. Unfortunately even that doesn't last long, sometimes as short as a day.
I make a lot of paragraph and character shortcuts for my projects. Each has it's own set of fonts so although I use the same shortcuts each are attached to different fonts so when I jump into a project I need to be able to see the shortcuts in the panel to remember which to use.…

New Document UI Issue
When opening InDesign and creating a new document, I am treated with a black box that houses all the options and selections to open a document. If I change the UI to touch based, it shows up. When I go back to regular mouse and keyboard, it goes black again.

document dialogue
On opening the latest version of InDesign, instead of the usual new document dialogue all I get is a constant circling - see attached. I can only override it by seeting Preferences to Legacy new document which is certainly not as usueful.

formatting
There NEEDS to be a way to keep formatting when copy/pasting. I need to keep formatting when copying text from .docx and pasting into indesign. This is a MUST! Us copy editors need this ability. Using textedit/notepad and copying from there doesn't work (that is the solution recommended to me by technical support). Please Please PLEASE fix this!

Table second row incorrect spacing by default
After including the table in the InDesign, I noticed that the second row bottom and top spacing gets automatically adjusted even if I try to adjust it manually or even after deleting the second row, the spacing on the second row is not showing up correctly. Please check attached screenshot for your review - check the second and third row spacing. Also, please check the table border lines as it is confusing.

Form Fields from InD Tagged Improperly as block rather than inline elements on PDF export
- Ver 15.0.2
- Create fillable form in InDesign and export as interactive PDF.
- Form tags should be nested inside (for example) paragraph tags. Alternatively, Form tags should display "BLOCK" placement attributes in PDF (Tag Properties>Edit Object Properties>Attribute Object Dictionary).
- What actually happens is neither of these. Form tags are exported inline with other tags but without the BLOCK placement attribute. According to Matterhorn Protocol, these are not appropriate semantically for the structure element "Form." This is a PDF Accessibility issue.
What I end up doing is taking each Form tag and nesting it under the descriptive P tag which precedes it.…

Autoflow Text is Crashing InDesign
Autoflow text is crashing InDesign. The progress bar gets to about 90% and then it crashes.
The text document is about 50,000 words, so it's nothing unusual.
1 voteClosed: Not Reproducible ·AdminSanyam Talwar (Senior Lead Software Engineer, Adobe InDesign) responded
To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

InDesign Export Issue
Creative Cloud InDesign shifts the colors of spot colors when generating pdf files. Only solution is to backsave as an idml file and then generate a pdf through pre-Creative Cloud InDesign application.

Cross-Reference won't save a <cs style="stylename"></cs> format. It just strips the tag out of the data.
Before updating to the latest version of ID, I would get an error each time I tried to use the <cs> tag to format a cross-reference. It wouldn't let me save the data.
Now it lets me save the data, but it just strips the tag out.
I have a character setting called Bold.
I defined a cross-reference format as:
<cs style="Bold"><fullPara /></cs> on page <pageNum />I save it, and I click OK. Then I reopen the format page, and it says the following:
<fullPara /> on page <pageNum />It's like the tag never existed. No matter what…

Futura Std fonts
When I use Futura Std in InDesign, some letters [‘a’ & ‘o’ in attached screen shot shift to a tiny, superscripted letter. Other fonts look normal in this same text, and Futura Std does not do this in any other application. Even in InDesign, the problem occurs in some situations but not others.

Exporting a PDF from Indesign is creating Form Xobject containers for everything.
This is happening to me now and is messing everything up for 508 accessibility remediation. Copied this from another user. "The latest version of InDesign exports PDF's in which most all the tagged content is in an Xobject container, making accessibility remediation MUCH MORE DIFFICULT. This is a huge step backwards. Attached are two examples, from the same client, annual reports- last year's was fine, this year's has all the xobject issues. Please advise, help, fix, something!!!"

Crash when smart reflowing a document with many anchored text boxes
Indesign is freezing/crashing when smart text reflow is used to reflow the document. Other documents are fine. This document is unique in that it contains many anchored text boxes and decimal tabs.
I am using InDesign 15.0.2
All I must do to crash InDesign is 1) open the document, 2) place my cursor between two of the inline anchored text boxes, 3) add a paragraph return (creating overset text which should be reflowed automatically).
See attached screenshot of one-page document.
