Navigating through pages with keyboard shift page up / page down jumps multiple pages Indesign V19.x and 20.0
Navigating through pages with keyboard shift + page up/down was already flaky in the last couple versions of Indesign jumping two pages at once, especially after opening a document. With version 20.0 it now jumps two and sometimes three pages at once and even back when it should go forward. Sometimes navigating stalls completely and ID is "thinking" for several seconds before it jumps huge amounts 10-20 pages or completely at the end /beginning of the document. This behaviour is not seen when navigating via the pages palette.

2 votesWe would need more info on when you are using shift + page up/down key and what is the expectation. Are you using these when in Presentation mode?
Using page up/down key, does not solve the purpose?

no spellcheck
there is no spellcheck which really bothers me, I had to manually type in the right spelling, wasting my time because English is not my first language i forget how to spell some words, it takes hours for me to type something without spellcheck. Please add this function to InDesign it really is necessary

provide tool to manage external cross-references
I am responsible for maintaining and updating a long manual with many cross-references. Most of these cross-references are internal to the book collection, but a significant minority reference specific sections in other books that make up the manual or specific sections in other reference documents external to my organization. The ability to use the cross-reference tools to manage internal cross-references is a godsend. Manually tracking external cross-references, however, is extremely tedious and mistake-prone. Obviously it would not be possible to provide hyperlinks or automatic updating for external cross-references. However, I would still like a way to keep track of them…

map Word lists to InDesign lists and paragraph styles
As the InDesign help documentation notes (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/map-export-manage-styles.html), "Text styles with bullet or number lists may not be copied or exported to a different application with the bullets or numbers intact." The suggested workflow is extremely time-consuming for a long document where every paragraph is assigned to a hierarchical outline structure in Word, since each paragraph has to be manually assigned to the correct paragraph style and the Word outline numbering that was converted to text needs to be manually deleted. View menu failing to load
When I roll over the Plug-Ins menu item, and then scoot over to the View menu item, the full View menu does not load. If I come off the menu header, and then hover directly over the View menu head, the full menu appears.

data merge images
InDesign 20.0.1 on MaxOS 15.1.1 (24B91), the Data merge for images does not work. There are no errors or warmings, but upon previewing, exporting or merging the images to not populate. The same data file and downsaved indd file (ver 19) works.

Application switching delay & laggy
Application switching (Command Tab) from any App to InDesign 20.0.1 has a 2/3 second delay. If I directly click on the InDesign window, it's switches quickly. Happens in all files. MacOS 15.1

Document dissapearing from view after screenlock
Every time my screen goes to sleep or autolocks, when I open it back up the document I am working on disappears from view. I can see it is still there as there are a few frame outlines visible, and I am able to save it close it and reopen, then all is fine again but it is a very annoying issue as I have to do this multiple times per day.

Overset text
Hi team, I am having issues with overset text. When I drag my text frame outside of the bleed line into the workspace the icon doesn't appear. As soon as I drag it onto my page the icon shows and if I increase the text frame additional text space appears above the word. There is no text wrap on the text frame and is on a completely different layer so arrangement isn't an issue. Can you please help me fix this issue.

Indesign 20.0.01 freezes when updating fonts
It happens erratically, however, when Indesign needs to update or scan fonts, it freezes -- even if the document uses fonts that are open and available. Only work around is to click on any other app and then click back on Indesign document. This happens on just about any type of Indesign file (blank pages, or pages with lots of texts and font usage).

open type numbers
in a workaround for another bug in Indesign (Bug: mixed open type numbers) I use a character style for the optentype numbers variety porportional medaevial. Sometimes (!) applying the style to two numbers does not have any effect, it is necessary to apply to a character before and after the numbers to change the style of the numbers.

small caps hyphenation bug
small caps in a hyphenated text sometimes(!) change the first letter before the hyphen to a normal minuscle. See image.
As shown in the image: "zwi-schen" is correct, "Tradi-tion" (Times New Roman) resp. "Tra-dition" (Ten Oldstyle) shows the bug.

Indesign crashing repeatedly when printing
Crashes intermittently when printing to Epson printer. Stops printing part way thorough page & epson dialogue box shows print levels all greyed out, not in colour. Windows log from control panel below.

When I use Command + S to save, InDesign freezes, and I’m forced to force quit the program. Saving normally works fine. I have the Swedish version and a MacBook Pro M3.

Footnotes do not honor "keep" settings
Title says it all. If a footnote paragraph style contains "keep" settings and split footnotes are enabled, footnotes ignore the keep settings. It should be possible to (a) allow split footnotes, and (b) stipulate that at least two lines must be carried over to the second page, but this is not possible. Keeps are ignored.

Index type range bugs
I specifically have my problems with "To Next Use Of Style" and "For Next # Of Paragraphs"
To Next Use Of Style
The adobe guide specifically says that the range is until the NEXT use of the specific para style but if the paragraph that contains the index marker is the same as the intended end of range, it only recognizes the first page. It counts the current para style aswell.
So if I want to i.e. make an index marker on a bridgehead with a range until the next bridgehead, I have to put the marker to the beginning…

Embedded graphics from Word-doc have comma-extension instead of dot-extension in Links-list
On a Mac: when I place a Word-file with embedded graphics, they all appear in the links panel as embedded graphics. But they have a file extension with a comma. So image, jpg instead of image.jpg. The same goes for other extensions. When you need to unembed them in order to improve the image, the comma is preventing my computer from opening the file. When I change it to a dot, then I can open the image. But then InDesign has lost track of the image and I need to re-link it.

Indesign 2024 keeps opening!
I use both Indesign 2023 and Indesign 2024 on MacOS Monterey. I already changed the Indesign files option to "open with Indesign 2023". But whenever I try to open an Indesign file both Indesign 2023 and 2024 open. I want to open the file with Indesign 2023. Even if 2023 is already opened it still opens Indesign cc2024 too. How do I stop 2024 doing that?

Indesign 20.0.1: Imported ai files suddenly have a white background
I want to put a logo on a photo and Indesign automatically fills the background of the object frame with white. The imported logo (in .ai format) is not isolated and you cannot change the background color of the box. The error only occurs in Indesign 20.0.1. I reinstalled version 20.0 and the problem is gone.
