1. title of file is wrong and shows up in pdf bowser tab

   When Indesign converts to pdf, it is carrying over a title that I can't find or edit to the pdf that then becomes the title of the browser tab when it is uploaded online. Horrible! It has done this with every newsletter now for years and we can't find where to change it. Title should not say "Kailin Mooney, Eastlake Resident/Food Bank Employee". How can I change this?

2. Proof Colours not working anymore

   InDesign 16.1 (macOS Mojave)

3. swatch palette folder minimizing

   Each time I deselect then reselect the Swatch Palette all of the Groups folders are minimized, even if I recently expanded the folder. Please retain folder view status when the Swatch palette is minimized.

4. Allow importing of styles from CC library to application, not just to document

   There needs to be a way to import styles from our library into InDesign itself, not into a document. You allow us to import swatches this way, so why not styles?

   I have lots of default styles/swatches, which I created with no document open so they are applied to every new document I make. I got a new computer, so I added all of these styles to my library with hopes that I could import them all again.

   Nope.

   ID lets you add swatches from your library to the app, but as far as styles go you need to have a document open. Importing the styles into a document defeats the entire purpose--they will not be in any new documents.

   I'm aware that I can use the styles directly from my library, but it's a hassle having to go in there every time and then right-click on each style to import it...on each new document.

   You can see in one image, it allows me to add my library colors to the app, but for styles the option isn't present.

   There needs to be a way to import styles from our library into InDesign itself, not into a document. You allow us to import swatches this way, so why not styles?

6. No new Dialogue Boxes

   Indesign refused to open any panels that were not already docked to the side e.g. Effects, Pages. Fixed with a restart of Indesign.

7. InDesign 16.2.1 Mac unwanted automatically full screen

   InDesign automatically changes itself into full screen mode. Which I don't want. There is no setting to be found to correct this. Illustrator does the same thing but there you can change the UI navigation size and then it behaves like it should.

8. paragraph shading where inline table is used

   Indesign all versions:

   I often use pararaph shading to give my text some extra attention. I may also have tables in this text, that require the same shading. But unfortunately, that's not possible with inline tables. When I instead use inline graphics, the shading works as expected.

   Seems like a bug to me!

9. cursor stuck on pencil

   When I open a certain file, the cursor is stuck on the pencil tool. I can't select any objects in the file. The cursor still operates menu selections, but doesn't work inside the document.
   I'm using v. 16.2.1 x64 on Windows 10

10. Id CC 2021 pdf export failure

    This is an issue I and my coworker have been having with previous versions of INDD CC, along with 2021 (16.1). It's been a problem for about a year now. We work off of a server, and exporting to a PDF fails frequently. It usually works if we export to our desktops, but exporting to the server is very hit-or-miss. It doesn't matter if the file is older or has just been created, and it doesn't matter whether it contains linked files or not.

    I have never had it fail to export to my desktop, but she has. She had to reboot her computer before she could get a PDF out of it.

    We're both on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6.

11. export layers to photoshop

    would be so nice to have a way to export inDesign layers to Photoshop file. (would save hundreds of hours to rebuild all these files!)

12. "Go-to-Folder" Shortcut Not Working When InDesign Opens Finder

    About two updates prior to the last 2021 update that was released, the shortcut Commnand+Shift+G that would normally open the "Go-to-Folder" dialog box when doing something like relinking an image stopped working.

    Unlike windows, where a file's location path can be copied and pasted at any time into an address bar, the "Go-to-Folder" menu can only be accessed via shortcut on Mac (as far as I am aware). It is very inconvenient to have to go through every folder individual folder, when I want to relink or place something, instead of being able to directly go to where the file is located.

13. table content moving even if there is enough room

    This is getting ridiculous, there are so many bugs in this program it's barely usable anymore. I have a 2 column layout, some content spans to 1 column. Sometimes when there is a table that spans it moves the table to the next page even if there is enough room. The only way to fix this is to make another text box and link them together. This is a huge pain ********** and makes it difficult when there are footnotes. It's a span bug and has been around for a while. Instead of making new features can you fix the tools there are already there.

14. UI Contextual Interface

    Contextual Menu

    In the latest update to the application, support for contextual UI interface management has actually got worse.

    I utilise a 'dual screen' like many, may designer. I find it unbelievable that Adobe continue to ignore professional reporting of your bugs and lack of real support for the program.

    Indesign's lack of contextual UI management is poor, inadequate and pretty much makes using dual screen even more difficult than the last release.

    Today, 31/01/2021 (Australia). I find that clicking on the type panel (which I have setup on the right monitor - displays the dropdown for the font size and many, many other components display of the left of the screen!

    Who is responsible for this woeful oversight? Who is actually trialling this software (in real world environments)?

    I'll also tell you, this isn't this first time I have report this inadequate UI.

    Forget some of the irrelevant updates and focus on ensuring the product is fit-for-purpose, because I can tell you - you're not making it easier to use the product, you're making it a lot harder.

    What's the point of having two monitors if you are going to force the UI components to render on the opposite monitor?

16. Please Allow Mutliple Text Modification!

    I HATE that I have to literally individually select each text in order for me to manipulate it in any way whether its changing the colors or size or the formatting. Its SUPER annoying and makes me and most of my classmates want to avoid using inDesign at all costs. We use it because our teacher makes us and there aren't many ways to do text formatting on illustrator. But on illustrator it can be easily done by just selecting all the text or using the eyedropper tool. But on indesign there are these stupid useless features like text box color. Im sure nobody uses that. And it it needs to go. If we want a background color for text we would just put a colored rectangle behind it. Im frustrated and annoying that when I select multiple texts it automatically assumes I want the background of that text to be that color NO ! NOBODY wants that! Highlighting each text individually is a PAIN and it takes forever when you have to do so many of them
    I also find it super annoying that even if I copy and paste a text box with certain formatting on it the minute I erase the text and replace with another text it takes out all of the formatting. Again on Illustrator I don't have this issue.
    This is supposed to be a publishing software please do better, and its 2021, but this is still an issue. Please do better.

17. Help can't save any file

    As soon as I try to save any newly created file I get a warning the file is damaged and changes will be lost. Also noticed past-in-place does not paste in place. Something is drastically wrong.

19. 'Apply italic' Shortcut Issue

    Prior to v16, Shift-Command-I applied the active font's italic to selected text. But in v16, it is applying the font's bold italic.

    I see no way to affect this in the Keyboard shortcuts panel. It simply lists "Apply italic" with the correct shortcut.

20. the pdf don't come out clear on the indesign 2021

    after importing my pdf or jpg on the Indesign 2021, the image don't come clear. it's half blurry. I don't know if the pdf is too heavy.
