   Updated to MACOS - Catalania, now animated zoom doesnt work anymore by holding COMMAND & SPACE! InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop can`t do it anymore. Also holding SPACE to move the Paper doesnt work anymore.

2. Index sorting in Book-document in Danish/Norwegian

   I'm using InDesign version 16.0. There is a problem with sorting alphabetically when using Danish/Norwegian with Book-function. This only happens from the second letter and on.

   The first letters in words sort correctly.

   Here's an example for the letter Ø, which should sort after Z and Æ:

   ‘Tørres’ is sorted before ‘Torstein’ (which means ø is here sorted under o). This only happens when sorting an index from two or more documents linked with the Book-function.

3. text turns into Symbols

   When I place a document from Word into InDesign and apply a paragraph style the fonts all change to Symbol font. This has been going on for years through multiple versions of the program. Can you please fix it? Or explain how to avoid it?

4. save as file name bug

   Suddenly, when saving a file, the Mac interface highlights the entire document name AND file extension. The software has never done this, why the annoying change? Designers often save version numbers, so now it's not as quick to hit the right arrow key, change the version # at the end of the file, then save. The new way it highlights the file name doesnt make sense, because nobody would want to affect the file extension when renaming a file.

5. issues with video content being supported from Indd output to viewabiity and interface as pdfs in acrobat

   make it so pdf's can have view-ability and functioning controler when exported from Indd. This used to work but has gone away. If you are phasing out flash please post a replacement. We dont all use digital videos linked from the internet and dont always have an internet connection.

   Every time I try to save an InDesign file my Macbook Pro Crashes to Black. Files seem to be recovered upon reboot, but reboot takes a while - especially when you save a dozen times a day or more.

7. Separation Preview Bug

   Separation preview will scrambled when you jump to next page and turn any colour separation off, the text and image from previous page will show on the current display page.

   This issue has beed existed since version 2017 to 2020. I saw some users are facing same issue from previous version and not been fix all these years.

8. ID 2020 - Indent in combination with wrap text around an image not working

   In Indesign 2020, whenever I want to wrap text next to an image, but the text also has an indent the text jumps from the supposed position.
   In Indesign 2019 this did not happen. The text was wrapped nicely next to the image, the way you should expect.

   My guess what happens here, is that the indent specs are applied not the the edge of the frame, but to the edge of the text. Which corrupts the spacing between the image and the text.

   I'm working with the latest 2020 version on iMac with Catalina

   This issue is addressed with a new option "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" in Preferences > Composition dialog. This option is ON for new docs created in ID2023 and needs to be turned ON for docs created in older versions of InDesign when opened in ID2023.

10. Editing a Gradient Swatch affects orientation

    When a Gradient Swatch is edited, the orientation / position of that gradient on existing objects is reset. Changing colors / knots should not affect the position of applied gradients.

11. Place dialogue blank

    The place dialogue is often a nearly blank/greyed-out box. Sometime ID crashes, sometimes it allows me to a place the file through the dialogue, sometimes the dialogue disappears when I click the pasteboard. It happens seemingly randomly.

12. Variable Font not working in InDesign 2020

    We came along a severe bug within InDesign 2020 and Variable Font.

    The issue has been fixed in the latest release of InDesign – InDesign 2021. The fix was also available in the previous version of InDesign – version 15.1.2

13. MacOS Big Sur Creative Cloud Download Manager iCon not clearly visible in Apple Menu

    MacOS Big Sur Creative Cloud Download Manager iCon is barely showing up at the top of my screen. Since the top control bar in Big Sur is now transparent, I am using a black background so its quite faint. Attaching screen shot. This wasn't an issue with previous OS and had the same black background.

15. book fails to synchronize after chapter-file edit

    Win10/64-Pro, InDesign 16.0.1/64

    A book with 53 chapters fails to detect edited chapters when re-synching.

    This problem did not occur with other recent updates of InDesign. Normally, when a chapter-file has been edited, a yellow bullet appears next to the filename in the Book chapter list. This isn't happening, because the files are not being detected as edited. Perhaps the book feature's metadata was corrupted by the update from 16.0.0 to 16.0.1?

    When I rebuild the book, even after full re-synch and renumber operations, chapters whose files have just been edited are not updated.

    The only way I can get an up-to-date PDF output is to manually remove all the edited chapter-files and then re-add them to the book's chapter list.

    Needless to say, this is a huge inconvenience. It has also caused several problems by generating "new" PDFs that were not actually updated!

16. Clipping paths with inset frame only use the main clipping path.

    I have many photos with clipping paths that exactly outlines the garments. When using these against a backdrop, there is a thin white remnant of the white backdrop. To avoid this I can use INSET FRAME on the clipping path.

    But, if I use inset frame, the "internal" paths are disregarded and it only uses the first clipping path.

    I know I should fix the images, but it would take me ages. I have requested the different photographers to make the paths correctly, but they tend to revert to setting the paths at the garment edge. I do not know if you regard this as a bug, but one should at least have an option of applying the inset on all paths. Right? Indesign 15.01

18. Selecting 'Save as' from drop-down – nothing happens

    Using InDesign 16.0.2, opened a local .indd file, made an iterative change and selected 'Save As' to create a derivative file. Nothing happened, no save dialog box at all. I quit InDesign and relaunched, and that seemed to clear the problem. This has happened at least once before in the last month. Though that might have been in the previous build before the most recent InDesign update (18days ago). The app wasn't frozen or inactive in other ways, it just wouldn't let me 'Save as' until I relaunched the app. So no crash report to send on. I use the app daily and this hasn't been a repetitive error, but very odd behaviour none the less.

19. InDesign 2021 (16.0.2) file corrupted dialog

    InDesign 2021 states on save that the file is corrupted but its correctly on the network share (Acronis Files Connect). InDesign 2020 didn't had any problems with this.
    On a side note: Why is it not possible to download the Update 16.1 as release a few days ago?

20. Updating Excel file causes crash

    Clicking link to update file causes immediate crash.
    A quick internet search finds that his been a long ongoing issue. (Maybe fixed at times? I'm not seeing posts for 2021 version.)
