1. Drop shadow in exported PDF is a different size

   Certain drop shadows have a different size when they appear in an exported PDF.

   In the attached example, the black shapes each have a drop shadow effect in yellow. When exported, the shadows appear shorter and narrower. The difference is approximately 20 pt narrower and 1 pt shorter. (Note the difference in proportion of the yellow drop shadow and black shape in the screenshots.) I've also included the drop shadow effect attributes.

   This occurs with multiple PDF export settings including the default [High Quality Print]. I am able to reproduce this behavior in both InDesign versions 15.1.2 and 16.0.

2. Weird Bug with Resize to Frame

   Resize frame to content messes up and I'm not sure if it's something to do with a setting I have set since this doesn't always happen.

   Basically, I'll have a frame around some content with text in it.

   When I hit "resize frame to content" ctrl-alt-c, it resizes the frame to the full document width, which looks like the example.

   I obviously expect the frame to resize to the content, not to be super wide like the entire document.

3. Unknown character inserted before hyphen in PDF export

   InDesign v16.1

   We have an InDesign file where the word "papier" is hyphenised by InDesign in this way "pa-pier", but after exporting in PDF, an unknown character was inserted before the hyphen and is shown as the letter "u" overlapping a displaced hyphen. Copy/pasting the word from the PDF gives this: pa�-pier

   If the PDF is exported again, the problem is not reproduced.

4. 'see' reference in index

   InDesign CC, latest version

   Strange bug (or at least unwanted behavior) I encountered today in Indesign:

   For a new book project, I used an earlier book as a template (a lot of the settings and styles should be the same), replacing all the text and images. The index in the earlier book contained 'see'-references. For the new book I generated a new index ('replace old index' checked), and the 'see'-references (just these) from the old book also showed up!
   I would expect checking the 'replace old index' box would prevent this.
   Not a big deal (the faulty entries were easy to be found), and certainly not a reason to change the way I work, but maybe something could be done about it.

5. The characters 'hn' when typed in Myriad Pro Bold display as Ú

   Myriad Pro Bold font when applied to the word 'technician' changes the word to 'tecÚician'.

   This fault is happening in InDesign Beta (16.3 Mainline CL #1099664) on MacBook Air M1.

6. Nested styles no longer working.

   InDesign 2021

   Used to be able to set a nested style up to or through any specific character (for example a : . Now that option is not working any more. Can only select from the drop down menu. Can work around with a grep style but it's not as easy to get it right.

7. Cannot see open file windows (v 16.3.2)

   I upgraded to InDesign v 16.3.2 this morning and now I am not able to use it, as file windows are not visible. The Windows menu lists the files that are open, but they cannot be seen.

   Update: discovered that files can be seen if Application Frame is switched off under the Windows menu, but nothing can be seen if it's switched on again.

8. Multiple Share for Review Issues

   I work with a team of 6 designers and we are all experiencing regular and multiple different issues with Share for Review – we are all using the latest version 2021 and are needing to try multiple things each time with varied results to get Share for Review to work – these include:
   1. Restarting Indesign
   2. Logging and in about of Adobe CC
   3. Trashing preferences
   4. Saving a file Copy

   Ths is extremely frustrating, wasting a lot of time and energy and money – I am sincerely hoping you are aware of all of these issues and are working hard to resolve it. Its a real shame as this feature is incredible when working properly. We rely heavily on this feature now so hopefully will be sorted soon ;)

   One issue not shown in the screenshots is the blank screen we get sometimes when clicking the Share for Review feature.

9. Letter "a" does not appear

   I was configuring Indesign Preferences on a new document. Suddenly, the letter "a" stopped working. I mean, I can't write a single word with the letter "a".
   Tried to open older documents, and the letter appeared when I pressed the button!

10. Freeze When Typing Page # in Status Bar

    When entering a page number into the status bar to go to a particular page, InDesign freezes and becomes unresponsive. I then have to force quit and relaunch InDesign

    Just a small thing..
    When InDesign convert footnotes to endnotes I need to click 'Done' twice. the first window should be closed automatically

12. Blank EPUB Interactivity Panel in InDesign 16.3.2 on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) running OS 10.15.7 Catalina.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign. I've installed it again deleting all old prefs. I've restarted reinstalled software and dumped prefs on start up holding down Shift/Ctrl/ALT/Cmd keys, and 'Yes' clicked when asked if I want to delete preferences file. I am at my wits end with this issue.

13. [INDD 2020 and 2021] Placed SVG InDesign ignores code dominant-baseline="hanging"

    It seems that the SVG import filter ignores code:
    dominant-baseline="hanging"
    when rendering text in the placed SVG graphic.

14. sticky rollover state on form checkboxes and radio buttons

    I'm having an issue with checkboxes and radio buttons. I have a normal, off, rollover, and on state. The off state is 70% paper fill, the on and rollover states are slightly larger graphics with 100% fill and drop shadows, and the on state also has a green fill.

    When exported to interactive pdf, the rollover state sticks and stays even after mouse out, causing the off state to rest on top of the rollover state. If I continue to mouse over the element, the drop shadow will get thicker and increasingly darker until black.

    I'm using InDesign 16.2.1 on Windows 10 Pro.

    I've created dozens of forms and several with states like this, and have never had this issue.

16. ID 2021 (16.1) slow performance with all palettes open

    Running ID 2021 (16.1) on MacPro (2019) 3.3 Ghz / 192Gb / AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16 Gb / MacOS 10.15.7.

    So, I would like to report a bug related to the palettes in ID. I run a 2 monitor setup with my work on one screen and all my ID palettes on on the second screen. I have run this way for 10+ years. This has always been OK until I moved from InDesign 2019 (14.0.3) to ID 2021 (16.1) 2 months ago.

    The performance of ID 16.1 is unacceptably slow. It is as if you have a really intensive process running in the background (like Folding At Home) all the time.

    Now... if I hide all my palettes (press TAB) then everything speeds up and there is no lag at all, exactly like it was with ID 2019. Show palettes and everything slows down, LOTS of lag. No spinning beech ball, just lag.

    If I go back and use ID 2019 everything works perfectly. It is fast with all palettes open. The problem is in ID 2021.

    PLEASE, can Adobe take a look in to this. I am happy to take a movie for you, but the description above is what you will see.

    InDesign is so frustrating to use right now, please help.

18. opacity lines bug

    Is this a bug or it's something I messed up? See the image to watch what it's happening when I change oppacity in a graphic. When exported no lines are visible, it's only in the previsualization.

19. libraries

    ******* Adobe, I'm still getting this CC libraries pane in InDesign being super zoomed-in... it comes and goes but I always have to restart InDesign to correct it... only to have it return to plague me constantly.

    I've spent over 2 hours with Adobe Support with no solution, and I've uninstalled/reinstalled multiple versions (including the latest) many times.

    Nothing works!

    This has been like this since late 2020! ADOBE CAN YOU PLEASE FIX YOUR SOFTWARE?!?!?!?!?

20. Share for review comments in master page

    Currently working on a 36 page magazine and noticed that some 'Share for review' comments end up on the Master Page in InDesign. When I view the comments online, I see them grouped on the right spread, but if I click the comment to see where it actually is pinned, nothing shows on the pages. Guess this is a bug?
