Column Rules fail if a Table is the first item in a Text Frame
(Hmm ... tried to attach an INDD file and I'm told they're not allowed. Really? OK ... will try a ZIP file with the INDD inside. Nope ... ZIP won't work either. Uploading a PNG screenshot)

On page 1 and 2 you will find a variety of 2-column frames with column rule applied.
In each case, the column rule will fail BECAUSE the first item in the frame is a Table. But, on page 2 I've added one extra example…

Random pdfs displaying weird text placement
Since Adobe updated my InDesign to 2021, I have been having issues with fonts showing correctly in placed pdfs. Sometimes text will be completely removed. Other times text is displayed enlarged, upside down and reversed. It is not all pdfs. Sometimes it is just one page in a pdf that displays badly. Please fix this bug. It is very annoying when I'm trying to paginate and print files for clients.

Coloured background in text when using other language than English
I bought #288977103 and when I try to use any other language than US English, the text box is coloured with bright colour. Why?

Visibility of levels of embedded AI files are not kept
When I use an AI file with multiple layers, InDesign 2020 (v. 15.1.3) doesn't keep the right visibility of layers when I update the AI file. The same is true when I re-open the InDesign file.
Same for InDesign 2021 (v. 16.0)
Not sure if this also happens with multilayered PSD files, I didn't checked yet.
Tried to recreate the file from scratch, no way to solve the issue.The problem never occurred in previous version of InDesign.

New Document Setting
While setting for a new document, if i pick letter or tabloid size and then create, it wont open. I can only open a document from the "Recent" section, or the three preset sizes which are iPad Pro, Web 1920 or A4.
But i can't really set the size i am looking for.

Page Size Changes- Sometimes don't work, sometimes bug, InDesign is as confused as I am.
I'm using InDesign 2021. I have been using the option at the bottom the Pages window ("edit page size") to change the size of my document from US Letter to A4 as I offer both sizes of printables in my shop. I noticed tonight that this sizing is being buggy. I went to change my Letter size doc to an A4 size, but A4 was already checked. The rulers confirmed my doc was in Letter. I then tried to change it, but no selections held from that menu. Finally, I just went to the "adjust layout" menu option and changed…

File Info box not displaying CC2020 15.1.1
File Info box not displaying when trying to add metadata. CC2020 15.1.1, Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5, external Dell monitor. I have tried reopening and overwriting preference files then restart. I have tried deleting library cache for cc15 and then restart. I have disconnected external monitor and restarted. Only solution has been to reopen as cc2019 doc and add there, but some clients make additional changes in 2020 and send back so I still have same issue. I keep having to force quit to get program to restart each time I try and open file info.

Round Picture Frame with Inner Stroke Leaks
Using a circular Image Frame with an Inner Stroke, let some of the placed graphics (in this case an .ai) leak outside.
This makes it useless, and causes the need to add extra elements to cover the artifacts.
It is visible in both InDesign preview (High Quality) and the exported .pdf.

InDesign 2019/2020, PDF export deletes components of some composite CJK glyphs when they overlap
Install the test font in the attached zip and open the the InDesign document. Exporting to PDF clears out the top part. This did not happen in 2018.
I initially reported this to Josh Hadley on 23 Jan 2020, who wrote up an internal report and came back to me, saying the InDesign team could reproduce and suggested working around the issue by decomposing everything or diverting the export through PostScript/Distiller. A very large client told us that this is not an option for them and would like a direct fix.

Indesign publish online page transitions not working
When I publish online from InDesign, any page transitions that have been applied to pages do not work. The pages simply appear. All animations work well, but the page push that I set as a transition does not work. Hopefully someone has a solution for this? If I use a plugin like in5 I can get the desired effect. Hopefully Adobe can add the same functionality that In5 has. When I create a new document and go to save, I do not get a save window. I have to close out the app and go back in for it to work. Sometimes I have to close out and go back in multiple times.

Quick export as pdf assume the last used options
When I use quick export I end up having all the same questions and options as going to file > Adobe pdf presets. So it is not much quicker.
I feel that the quick export should be a function that uses last setings and export immediatelly without further questions rather than the file location.1 vote -
InDesign spellcheck no longer recognizes everyday words
The new version of InDesign I am using (15.1.3) does not recognize everyday words such as ‘year’ (see attachment)! It makes the spellchecker virtually useless. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something I can do to fix this please?

Datamerge Trims Spaces
I just noticed that Datamerge trims leading and trailing spaces from text columns in CSV files when merging. The resulting text doesn't have the proper spaces on either end, even though the spaces are present in the CSV.
This is problematic because if you have two text fields that are being merged in the same text frame without a line break, you can't include a space at the end of one or the start of the other to be inserted between them. You can put a space in between the placeholders, but that won't achieve the desired result if the…
