1. Multiple Issues

   I've noticed three glitches very recently in Adobe InDesign 2025. #1 - Seems like every other time I open the print dialog box to select the printer I want to use, the printers are in a different order in the list. #2 - Often times, when I open a document, my keyboard shortcuts won't work. I have to close the document and then re-open it to get them to work. #3 - Most frustrating is, I start to create a new document. I enter the document size into the New Document window and when I hit the Create button and it opens, the document is a completely different size than what I entered.

2. GPU preview issue

   GPU preview sometime doesn't preview correctly, need to switch to CPU preview for correct preview.

   and sometime display image like a burst artifact. need to switch to CPU preview forth and back for several times to get everything back to normal.

3. Latency issue on Mac since version 20.0.1

   Every action, every time I switch back to InDesign after using another application, every event is preceded by a 1-2 second delay. When spending the whole day working on InDesign, this becomes unbearable. This is the first time I've experienced this, and it has been happening since the new version 20.

   See video. The Mac "spinning wheel" appears multiple times in one minute. Imagine this over several hours or days.

   Adobe, cold you please fix it asap?

4. Preview on GPU disappears; restarting only resolution

   Problem: Workspace turns into a blank outline in Preview on GPU.

   Occurrence: When switching between windows or after returning to an open InDesign file after having a pause.

   Solutions: Restarting InDesign.

   Toggling between CPU and GPU does not work. Selecting and de-selecting GPU in preferences does not work.

6. [ID-4255622] Panels move from Extended Display to Main Display on waking Mac from sleep.

   Setup:
   1) Mac as Main Display, External Monitor as Extended Display
   2) App Window on Main Display, All panels on Extended Display
   OR
   1) Mac in Clamshell mode, 2 External Monitors (one is Main Display, other is Extended Display)
   2) App Window on Main Display, All panels on Extended Display

   3) Mac goes to Sleep.
   4) Wake up Mac from Sleep.

   Result : Some panels move to the Main Display, some panels remain partially on both Displays.

8. Indesign opens on wrong screen with multiple monitors (Mac OS)

   This issue has been going on for years now. I recently updated to inDesign 2025, but it's still not solved for me:

   Expected result: I've assigned InDesign to open on my external monitor, just like all my other Adobe apps.
   Actual result: It completely ignores this, and just opens on my Macbook screen. The window resize buttons will be hidden behind my menu bar, so I have to alt+drag the window to make the buttons appear again. Then I can drag inDesign to my external monitor.
   I've seen posts going back to 2019 about this issue

9. Adobe Indesign 2024 - frequent "Hang" issues & "error report" messages.

   1. We recently purchased Adobe Indesign 2024 and we are frequently facing "hang" issues where the screen gets stuck on opening an indesign file or while adding few lines of texts while editing a file. we are neither able to perform any further action nor close the indesign program. Only if we end the task we are able to exit.

   2. We have also been getting error report frequently and the working indesign file gets closed.

   3. In addition to that for the past 2 days, we are getting a pop-up message showing "do you want automatic recovery?" message, clicking yes on which the file gets stuck again.

10. Urgent Bug Report – Inability to Set Save Location for AI-Generated Images

    Dear Adobe InDesign Team,

    I am writing to report a critical flaw in InDesign’s AI-generated text-to-image functionality that severely disrupts workflow, particularly in collaborative environments.

    Currently, InDesign automatically saves AI-generated images to a local drive without giving users the ability to specify a save location. This is completely inconsistent with InDesign’s core functionality, which relies on linked assets rather than embedded files. When working in a team—especially in networked environments where assets are stored on a NAS or shared drive—this oversight makes it impossible to maintain proper file linking. As a result, when multiple designers are collaborating on a document, exports fail due to missing links.

    This is the only time InDesign has ever had such a problem with asset management. Every other workflow allows users to control file paths, ensuring seamless collaboration. The fact that AI-generated images are treated differently makes no sense and creates unnecessary roadblocks.

    Adobe must address this issue immediately by allowing users to set a preferred save location for AI-generated images, just as they can for any other linked asset. Until this is fixed, the feature is fundamentally broken for professional use.

    Please escalate this as a high-priority fix. InDesign is an industry-standard tool for collaborative publishing, and this implementation of AI-generated images contradicts its entire workflow philosophy.

11. Section Symbol only displays SS

    I have a series of sections defined in my document. When I insert a type --> special character --> symbol --> Section Marker, the result is only the "SS" symbol regardless of what section it is in or what modifiers I put on it to assign it a value (i.e. 1, 2, A, B, etc). I see that this was a bug back in 2020 but I'm running current build as of 3/13/25. Please advise if this is a user error or a continuous bug/how to correct. thank you

12. Window Management Not Apple/MacOS Standard

    The window management across all adobe apps but most of all inDesign is buggy and not the correct apple standard. You can see its not inline with other apps and the native resizing tools by looking at the edges of the application and the rounded corners.

    Window management tools do not work with inDesign as it resizes it self. Grabbing edges is extremely difficult and usability is bad. Traffic lights tend to move down to about 3/4 into the document or disappear all together.

14. Command-S shortcut activates DON'T SAVE

    InDesign 20.0
    MacOS 15.1
    Swedish language

    I noticed that Command-S activates the Don't Save button in the dialog shown in the image.

    1. Command-W to close the document
    2. The dialog shows Cancel, Don't Save and Save
    3. Command-S will activate the Don't Save button!

    I tried it on two Macs with the same setup.

    This is a serious bug and it's much worse than a crash.

    After a crash the changes will be kept by the crash restore feature. If someone use the Command-S shortcut in the scenario described here they will erase all changes with no way to get them back.

    Command-S will do a Save in the same dialog in Apples apps.

    Other users said this bug is not showing up with English language.

    We tried executing the script shared by you at our end and found that the extension you are using for the script should be ".scpt"(applescript) and not".jsx"(javascript). Please try changing the extension of your script to ".scpt".

17. Keyboard Shortcuts don't work after opening from Bridge with only one InDesign file open

    Very specific bug this but as Bridge sits at the centre of my workflow it affects every file I open!

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Open InDesign
    2) Open a file from Bridge - right click, open or double click (keyboard shortcuts work fine the first time!)
    3) Close file in InDesign
    4) Open a file from Bridge as above

    Now most keyboard shortcuts - eg. Place: ctrl-D - won't work. Holding space gives you the temporary hand tool but that's about it. You have to hit alt-tab twice to get back to normal shortcuts working.

    If you open another file in the same way, shortcuts seem to work again.

    If you open from File Explorer they work as expected.

    If you open from the recent files thumbnails inside InDesign they seem to work fine.

    If you drag from Bridge, focus seems to stay on Bridge - keyboard shortcuts affect it instead. But that doesn't seem to be what's happening with the open command here... the shortcuts just seem to disappear into the ether!

    System:
    + Windows 10 Pro 64-bit 22H2 / Ryzen 9700x / 64GB / RTX 4800 Super / 990 Pro / Wacom PTH-851 - latest drivers/firmware for everything.
    + InDesign 20.1 but it's long standing behaviour - been like this through as many point releases / versions of Windows 10 as I can remember.

18. Project goes blank

    I've been using the new Indesign 20.0 and it will often go blank to a completely grey screen in the working area. I can see the toolbar, and even the image gizmo but none of the actual content. I tried switching preview modes and to presentation mode and nothing works besides just quitting out and opening it back up. It seems to happen when it's been in the background for a while and I switch back to it. It's extremely frustrating. I'm on a Macbook Pro M3 maxed out specs on Mac OS Sequia 15.0.1 (24A348).

    This may be related but even when the content is visible and I'm trying to re-position my images in their frames I can't see the box outline or handles. Whats odd is when the content goes blank I can see the image outline and handles. Not sure if the box/handle color is blending in with my background or what is going on, I just have to hover my mouse and guess where an edge is. That is a constant issue. I had tried to see if i could change the color of the box/handles but it doesn't seem so. Also very frustrating.

19. Screen tearing while scrolling

    I'm having issues with screen tearing in InDesign 2023 and 2024. I've tried resizing UI, testing an earlier version of InDesign (hence 2023), making sure my computer was set to best performance over battery saver, etc. Inevitably when I scroll around, lines of text will jump around or break. I'm operating a brand new windows 11 computer with 16gb of RAM, and this is a two page InDesign document with one image, so...

20. curser blink affecting whole screen

    Not an idea, however when the curser blinks, it's affecting the whole screen - very subtle, but on larger monitors is extremely noticeable.
