Window with InDesign document goes black with clicks etc. when using 2 screens
I am using InDesign 19.4. on a MacStudio with MacOs Sonoma 14.4.1. 2 screens are connected: Apple Studio Display 27 inch (main screen), to the right BenQ PD2710QC.
When I have an InDesign document open on the main screen (left screen) and the window of the document touches the right and bottom edge of the screen, the window with the document constantly goes black when I perform various actions such as right-clicking or moving an object in the document. When I click again, the screen returns to normal. This problem is terribly annoying.
The only solution so far: The window…

Small implied movement when selecting elements
I have an issue with the latest versions of InDesign.
Whenever I select any element/object/text/images etc inside my Page or any pages, there is a delay in the selection with a tiny registered displacement of the selected object by one or 2 pixels. My only solution to fix it is to Cmd+z to invert the latest action that resulted from it. I didn't have that issue a month ago and it is very disruptive, could say that it is anti-productive. I am running Indesign on the latest version of Mac OS sonoma on a M1 max machine. The problem occurs…

Spellcheck isn't working. I have set my language to English, but no matter what I do it reverts to "Finnish" language.
Spellcheck isn't working. I have set my language to English, but no matter what I do it reverts to "Finnish" language the minute I try to start using Spellcheck. Then everything gets flagged as an error. Please fix this bug ASAP.

screen flickering sonoma
I know this is a known issue, but after 4 months, I would have hoped that a fix would have been developed by now. My fault for now researching before upgrading to Sonoma, but come on guys. I seriously can't believe how terrible my experience has been with both the new Macs and Adobe software. I have been doing design for 18 years, and have never had as much trouble in that time as I have had from both company's products in the last year. This is ridiculous! It is unfortunate for users that we have no other viable options…

Find/change
Find/Change is really slow to search when i add a Find Format style [None] in the search.
The search works fine in my document if I just search on a text word or other styles but when I add [None] to ensure it doesn't change other character formats applied it then takes forever to find it.

Installing InDesign 2024 still removes all preferences, shortcuts, and workspaces — even in v19.1
Despite the previous thread about this marking the problem as being resolved, it is not — not even with the latest update 19.1 ... not for me at least. I've uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign 2024 multiple times at this point to no avail.
This is a serious issue for professional users who have very specific settings that take time to create and are necessary for maintaining a consistent workflow between versions.
Please resolve.

gpu
Enabling GPU causes some object disappear. Switching to CPU causes viewing all objects right.
When I open the same document in InDesign 18.5.1, everything is shown good. This is terrible!

19.2 Performance (esp. Type Tool)
Starting with version 19, but especially with v. 19.2 (MacBook using Sonoma 14.3.1), InDesign just SLOGS. Every time I select the Type Tool, it's about 3-4 full seconds (including the "spinning ball" every time) before the type tool is accessible to me.
I am a long-time power user of InDesign and this is incredibly frustrating. My brain and hands now work much faster than the application — didn't always used to be true. Click and wait...click and wait...click and wait. That's what using InDesign is like now. For 700 bucks a year. Yuck!
Have you made the program TOO FAT,…

iMac M3 gets very hot and uses excessive CPU while working with InDesign 2024, fan is constantly running
I am working on InDesign 2024 version with Apple iMac M3 processor, and as long as the InDesign window is open, even if I do not do anything, the iMac gets very hot and the fan is constantly running. This is not a normal situation at all.
I'm reporting this to the Adobe team for information. I noticed that InDesign did not have this problem when I disconnected it from the internet. However, when the connection is lost, InDesign crashes after a while. You can see the CPU values it uses in the attached image.1 vote -
inDesign screen flashing on M2 Mac mini
InDesign screen flashing on M2 Mac mini.
The screen flashed when selecting text, moving objects, using marque select.
Turning off rulers helps a lot. I've read that turning on/off GPU performance will solve this issue. The option is grayed out within inDesign but is available on Illustrator and Photoshop.inDesign version: 19.0.1
OS version: Sanoma 14.1.1

InDesign flashes white every time I click on a page
When using InDesign, it flashes white every time I click on it. If I click and hold, the screen become completely white. This is very annoying, almost impossible to work. I cannot highlight anything or draw a marque without getting the white flashing. Even when I'm just moving around a page, it flashes. This is migraine-inducing.
I have InDesign 18.5.1 and there are no updated available, I just checked. This has really slowed down my workflow. I know you closed the previous listing for this, but it's not fixed.

InDesign Window Keeps Moving
I keep running into issues with my InDesign application window moving around. The window continually resizes itself slightly or moves to the side of the monitor (cutting off access to some of the tools) when I haven't tried to resize it. This isn't a 'once in a while' issue; it's happening consistently, multiple times a session.
I'm running Indesign 2024 on a MacBook Pro with Apple M2 Pro Chip and macOS Ventura 13.5.1.
The issue also persists on my laptop monitor and when connected to external monitors (I run one 4K colour-accurate monitor and one standard 1080p monitor).
It would…

CC Libraries palette vibrates nonstop
InDesign ver 19.4, when I click on the CC Libraries palette, the scroll bar and the bottom of the palette vibrates or jumps vertically up and down nonstop. I can't get it to stop. Closing and re-opening the palette didn't help. Restarting ID didn't help. Very distracting when using your libraries palette.

Import Fails for User Settings file exported from ID 2024 into Beta
The user settings file exported from ID 2024 is not recognized when I try to import it to Beta.

Mouse cursor slow when updating links
When updating links (either individually or all at once), the mouse cursor becomes extremely slow. This slowness happens in all applications, not just Indesign. In other words, if I set the links to update while working on other stuff in other applications, the mouse cursor is still super slow.
Using Windows 11. Don't know where you can see the Indesign version number.

InDesign 19.4 for MacOS ignores PluginConfig.txt
InDesign 19.4 on MacOS ignores PluginConfig.txt and doesn't load the desired plug-ins on startup.
Steps to reproduce:
- Place a plugin somewhere outside the InDesign app folder.
- Create a PluginConfig.txt that points to this plugin.
- Place the PluginConfig.txt either in the InDesign app folder or the Preferences folder.
- Start InDesign.
- The plugin won't be loaded.
I have checked this on multiple machines and also have confirmation from someone also on the user forums:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-ignores-pluginconfig-txt/m-p/14578540
The Windows version seems to work correctly.
1 votePlease share the “PluginConfig.txt” for review at santalwa@adobe.com
Try the below workaround and let me know if it works for you -
- Quit InDesign.
- In macOS, go to <Install Dir>\Resources\Cookies\ENABLE_POSIX_PATH.
- Rename ENABLE_POSIX_PATH.
- Launch InDesign.
Thanks and Regards

I am using InDesign (18.5), whenever I closed one file the whole InDesign became not responding, unable to close, open new file, or do any at all. I have to open task manager to force close every time.
Is this an issue with the new version or others. Please help.

Scroll bars and status bar disappear in InCopy
InCopy scrollbars and status bar (page navigation) disappear and there doesn't seem to be an identifiable way of turning these back on. Working on a corporate device so cannot test the 'Run as administrator' fix that is suggested on another forum online.
Scrollbars and status bars are available on start up but disappear if you use the zoom tools, the device sleeps, or if you are active in another window (e.g. a browser) for some time (not sure precisely how long). Closing and reopening the program fixes the issue, but it is irritating to have to check in all stories,…

Inaccurate Type 1 Warning
This issue is purported to be fixed, but I'm still getting a false type one warning after upgrading to the last version of InDD 18. (18.5.2). The flagged font is Whitney Black, the only font out of the the entire OT Whitney family that's installed on my MacBook pro that gets flagged. Whitney Black also shows up twice on my font list, even though there is only one version installed and used in my stylesheets. The font is clearly OT in the replace font dialog box, does not trigger a preflight warning and exports fine to PDF.
