Edit all Export Tags for all INDDs of a book (INDB) in one place
In order to export a book to EPUB, I need all export tags (classes) to be perfectly consistent even if the styles they are assigned to aren’t (and deliberately so, which is why they can’t be simply synced via book sync).
Currently there seems to be no other way than to open “Edit all export tags” from the panel menu in every single INDD of the book (which of course is already a huge progress compared to opening every single paragraph and character style).
Please let us edit the export tags on book level for all INDDs of a book.…

Make UI Scaling NOT affect document scaling
The recently-added UI Scaling feature also scales the size my document is displayed! Why?? When I type command-1 to view my document at actual size, I expect an 8.5 x 11 page to be that size on the screen. But if I increase the scale of the UI (tools, pallets, etc.) it also increases the "actual size" scaling of my document so it's much bigger than it should be. So, in other words, the UI scaling should NOT affect the scaling of the document rulers; 1" should always be displayed at 1".

Workshare
Can there be a feature where one file is accessible by multiple user at the same time? Each user can select a page he or she is working on and lock it while they edit. once they are done, they release it and the document updates.

Request for data merge to support table generation
Currently, data merge can generate pages from a master, but it cannot generate tables. This would be a highly useful feature. My designs use a lot of tables that recur with different data.

Make PDF Commenting Panel consistent and better designed
In one place in the panel, it's called Accept. In the flyout menu, it's called "Apply Auto Edit."
Why did we suddenly start calling the checkbox "Resolve"? I know that's the term that Acrobat uses, but it's confusing. Especially, when it's located alongside a word called "Accept." You're making users try to figure out new nomenclature when the old words worked just fine.
The icons on the left of the panel are way too subtle. In Acrobat, they are color coded. Replace text is blue. Strikethrough text is red. Sticky notes are yellow. Underlines are green. Why can't we…

Allow alignment of an object to two guidelines that I create, instead of to the page or other objects
When trying to align text or an object to a box or area that is not aligned to the center of the page - allow me to create guidelines (drag out from side of ruler) to the edges of the box or area and select the guidelines and the text or object and align the text or object to the center of the guidelines.

Pages Folders!
Being able to group and collapse sections/chapters/draft/optional layouts would be a huge help.

vertical scrolling
I would like to be able to view my InDesign document as single-page scrolling instead of as a spread. When on my laptop, I can't easily see the text on the pages if I'm in a spread, and I'm often making changes with an open PDF next to me, so if I could scroll them together, it would be so helpful. I can't believe at this point in InDesign's evolution that this isn't an option. (I want to keep the spread view as well but would like the option to view single-page.) Thanks!

Text frame option
Text frame option is in Object Menu right now. If the Text frame option is in text related groups like "Window>types & table" that would be helpful. Since when vertical alignment of text is required, we have to go to object menu and text frame option. Grouping all text related features would be fine

updates only on modified pages of publications indesign
When I place one multi-page publication of an indentation in another (for example, I put pages of other publications in a catalog), it would be convenient if, on some pages, the pages where the changes were updated were updated, and not the entire document as it is now.

Frame Fitting Panel
Fairly self explanatory. Frame fitting options are one of the only frequently used features that don't have their own panel, which can cause UX issues for various reasons. Solution, give them a panel.

make styles palette at book level (as well as variables, master pages and other shared book elements)
then, there could be a switch button in paragraph styles palette for documents (as well as other palettes) that makes all styles "inherited" from book "superpalette".
I mean, that I would make ONE set of styles which will be instantly propagated into all book documents, (which have this switch in "on" state).
I know it can be done with book "synchronize" button, but it is not working, when you change styles name in one document. Synchronizing just add this style as a new to synchronized documents, instead of changing its names everywhere.
And, last but not least, there will be…

Endnotes placement needs to be adjusted
The way books work is that the notes to a chapter fall immediately after the end of the text, not on a new page. Please change this feature so that we can force the notes to a new page if that's how we want them, but they normally fall after the end of the text. Other than that, the dynamic endnotes feature will be nice when someone decides to add or delete notes.

More options when resizing a layout
If I need to resize a page/layout using Document Setup, ideally for me, all of the existing content would remain at the top of the page, so a new, taller page size would add more space at the bottom, or if I wish to shorten a page, empty white space would be removed from the bottom. InDesign 19.2 centers all content vertically on the new page size, which I can't imagine anyone would ever want, forcing the unnecessary step of moving everything back to the top of the new page. You could add a Photoshop-style grid…

Move both documents pages when in Split vertical mode
When comparing two documents in Split vertical window mode it would be handy for both documents to move to the next page at the same time rather than having to move one, then the other.

Rotate pages feature neccesary for Share for Review
My file for printing has to be horizontal (it opens up, its a calendar), so I rotate the view 90 degrees for working. When I share for review, my coworkers see the file horizontal and cannot rotate the pages on the Acrobat preview, also I cannot rotate or do something so they can view it differently, so our calendar is being reviewed with lots of neck straing.
Please do something!

Allow option to specify pages to spell check!
Give us an option to specify what pages to spell check, or spell check entire document.
Sometimes when you have a long document and you've only made revisions to one page, you don't want to have to spell check the entire document all over again. Think annual reports!

Ability to print and/or download proofs
I have some clients that like to print hard copies of their proofs. Before the 'Share for Review" feature, it was a lot of pdf's making made and uploaded, which tended to crash my InDesign, so I do enjoy not having to create so many, and having one link throughout the process.
However, there is no option for the client to download a pdf or to print the pages directly from the proof... so then I'm back to making pdf's again. That is the only thing so far my clients seem unhappy about with the new proofing system, is…25 votes -
