Enlarge the size of the panels; so hard for the eyes with PAO after 40 years (Illustrator and Photoshop have this option in user/interface)

Cela fait des années qu'à chaque màj d'inDesign j'attends qu'Adobe permette enfin (comme déjà dans Photoshop, et Illustrator) qu'Indesign autorise dans ses préférences l'AGRANDISSEMENT DES CARACTERES ET/OU DE SES PALETTES!!! Il y a des milliers de graphistes de plus de 40 ans qui se tuent les yeux avec ces palettes miniatures lorsqu'ils deviennent presbytes!!!. Quand on est graphiste, on pleure de mal à la fin de la journée. Remember choice of fixed/reflowable epub
When creating an epub, I shouldn't have to select between Fixed and Reflowable in the save dialogue each time. It should remember my choice for the document. And ideally this selection should be in the Epub info page rather than the save dialogue.

Present cross references in alphabetical order
In a large document with hundreds of cross references, hunting for the right cross reference is a disaster. The list is in some random order (or maybe last made, first shown?). Presenting these alphabetically based on paragraph text (including numbers from variables such as caption numbers!) woul dbe enormously helpful.

Indesign Lite, but different to the already suggested
Indesign comes with a lot of features you never use. Features like the absolutely annoying and nasty Creative Cloud and its client, the even nastier CCX, the constant updates which lose compatibility between almost every next version and the previous one, the CC library which doesn't work at all (it should host any kind of object, but it doesn't), InCopy. Remove all that and let us just use what we need.

Please add editable presets for Quick Export menu in the new share menu
It would be very helpful to customize the Quick Export presets to the user’s needs. Also a setting how many presets are displayed would be great. Three options are maybe not enough for most users.

Export of selection of pages could be easier...
It would be great to just select pages in the pages-window and then automatically have them selected with their page numbers in the export-toolbox.

InDesign forgets the maximized state of the window
Windows 10 here.
When working in inDesign, I'm maximizing the window. However, when closing InDesign and opening again, the window isn't maximized. I have to maximize again. Maximizing every time I start InDesign has became annoying.
It's a simple programmer task to keep the last state of the window when opening the application again...11 votes -
Show cross-reference destination document in the cross-ref panel
I work with a lot of guides and need to use a lot of cross-references in my files. When these files later get used as a base for new files and saved under different names, or content is copy-pasted from one file to another, the cross-references point to the old (wrong) destination. I know you can select a cross-ref and change its destination document from the palette menu, but first you need to know that there is such wrong reference, but it is difficult when the cross-reference colour indicator is green and you think everything is fine. CJK and Arabic Toolsets
I frequently have to typeset Japanese, Chinese and Arabic, and it's very unfortunate the interfaces for the language tools cannot all be included in the same version.
My understanding is that every version of the software is identical under the hood, and there's a simple hidden parameter that enables the different language tools after a reboot, but it would allow for a much smoother workflow if this could be done within the software. For example, under Workspaces have the option to choose workspaces that use a different language toolset, with a reboot required if necessary. Can this be addressed in…

Placeholder Text Feature
Seeing as InDesign has interactive PDFs in mind giving us the ability to create forms easily and then export them as a PDF to open in Acrobat, I feel like a feature to inset placeholder text to fields shouldn't be too difficult to implement.
To clarify, I was hoping to find an option under the Buttons and Forms toolbox that allows us to check off a box for placeholder text so when someone types in the field the original text there is overwritten with the new content. Like a "W" for width and an "L" for length in field boxes…

Android Chrome - publish online incompatibility.
Publish online is a great idea with a brilliant future and I love it. Hope Adobe will continue to update it although I am not so sure. Most major browsers on Safari Firefox Opera Chrome Mi on desktop or mobile Windows IOS and Android, look they r working fine. There are issues with Android Chrome which in some countries is a big issue. (browsing a published document with Android Chrome control bar next-previous buttons appear instantly and then disappear and can't bring them back, touch, zoom seem not to be working either and browsing freezes)

add the ability to move from the type tool to the move tool with a right click or hold down a key
switching from type tool to the move tool while your cursor is inside a text box can't be done by simply pressing the v key because it will put a v in the copy you are working with. Currently the solve is 1) push escape, then the v key-a real pain 2) click off the text box that you are working on, push the v key, go back to the text box and click on it to move it-slightly inconvenient.

Full screen mode while in portrait view on iPhone and other devices
It might just be my olddd iPhone 6 but portrait view always leaves navigation bar and footer bar on screen when viewing.
Now until responsive layouts become a feature (wish), then if we want to create a portrait layout publication/document for viewing on a device, full- screen doesn't happen for me and others. It would nice to be able to enable this, as in landscape view.

Navigator panel like in Illustrator
Hi,
don't know if anybody else already mentioned this but indesign could really use a navigator panel like illustrator has one, the zoom in and out buttons are really handy and much quicker to use than Zoom in and zoom out functions under the view menu (I'm not much of a shortcut using guy…) and also dragging the red square to navigate is super handy

Keep saved video attributes when opening packaged file and relinking media
I am working on documents that are published online, with video and sound features. If a file is packaged and sent to other members of a team, upon opening the Indesign file, you are required to relink all media in the Links folder. However, some features are then lost, like the Poster frame settings for Video files (set in the Media panel).
It would also be useful to be able to have the option to have sound on or off when publishing online, without having to do this in another application.1 vote -
2020 User interface is still too small
Make the user interface scalable (at least to small, medium, or large like the ui options in preferences in Illustrator and InDesign). This is something that millions of users would like to be a feature. Please make it happen.

Saving files - please have just filename selected, not extension
This used to be how it was, I can't tell you how much time I waste selecting an insertion point to rename the file.
