  1. Have ruler bar be on the right, too, to drag out guides when zoomed in on right side of doc etc.

    To prevent having to zoom out and/or change position in a document when trying to precisely visually align a guide

  5. Paragraph Borders and Shading - Keep in Frame

    I use a P Style for a Tip paragraph in my Quick Reference Cards (QRC). The Tip is typically one or two sentences, and has a light shading (light grey) with a top and bottom blue border. I use a similar style for Warnings, except I change the borders to red. Occasionally, the Tip/Warning falls at the top or bottom of a column, and the Border, and sometimes the Shading, lands outside the text frame.

    Can we have a "Keep in Frame" for Borders and Shading, similar to the one for P Rules? David Blatner had a great workaround when…

  6. Frame Fitting Panel

    Fairly self explanatory. Frame fitting options are one of the only frequently used features that don't have their own panel, which can cause UX issues for various reasons. Solution, give them a panel.

  7. Downloading Workspaces

    I have a personal account with custom workspaces. I would like to be able to I go to work for someone else in their office, using their account, and easily download my workspaces from the Cloud. This feature request is for all Adobe apps, not just InDesign.

  8. why adobe fonts needed to be updated everytime when I open the document for multiple times

    I have used an adobe font for my document, everytime when I open that document it is showing that fonts are missing

  9. Exporting ePub options - more needed and open direct to selected readers...

    When exporting an ePUB, give the option to export as "iBooks friendly" or "ADE friendly" or "Google Play friendly" and automatically preview the epub in the chosen app. The reason this is needed is because, currently the enhanced epubs that you can export from InDesign work through iBooks but literally NOWHERE else. Google Play throws back errors that don't make sense and do not support some of the features that InDesign exports, such as javascript. And ADE does not have consistency across the android version and the Windows version and is riddled with bugs. The windows version doesn't read fonts,…

  11. Integrate PDF comments directly with Document Cloud 'Send for Review'

    Currently it's very effective to download a PDF from Document Cloud after using the Acrobat DC 'Send for Review' and then import the comments into InDesign using the PDF comments panel.

    It would be great to cut out the Acrobat round-trip and have InDesign export a file for review directly to Document Cloud, and then automatically add the reviewers comments back into the ID workspace.

  12. Export PDF comments

    InDesign 2019 -- PDF comment import works fine, however what is the point if I cant then export back to PDF for further review and INCLUDE those comments?

    Seems like the import PDF comments without including them in the export to PDF is an incomplete feature.

  13. The "undo" button: aka- Control + z

    Please allow to undo (ctrl + z) more than three times. It's frustrating to not be able to go back more than three times, especially when you're working on a longer document and you have to close out of it because InDesign won't let you fix something you made four corrections ago.

  14. Thank for new versions - but the scroll button the is a dull grey atop another shade of grey is not visible enough for quick work -

    i have worked as a designer for many years - please consider colour and contrast in the scroll feature for pages. As i try to proof a manuscript against another file, i must constantly search for the scroll tab in order to read more text - even a lighter shade of grey or something complementary would help the worker.

  15. French dictionaries

    The Académie française updated spellings in French in 1990, and textbooks in France are now teaching the new versions. But InDesign does not inherently support the new spellings. The only way to activate them is by drilling down into the files and adding Hunspell manually. ID does support much more recent German reforms, though. After 29 years (which is literally older than ID itself!), it's time for Adobe to support this.

  16. GREP: Group or chain GREP expressions so they can all be triggered with one click

    There are many times that I receive text with double spaces between sentences and double paragraph returns and ### between sections and 4 or 5 tabs in a row. These can all be fixed with GREP expressions, but it would save time to be able to create a group of expressions that can launch with one click. Similar to Next Style in a paragraph style description. I am sure there are even more complex compound instances that would benefit from this.

  17. Default cross-reference parameters

    I would like to able to globally set my parameters for cross references and have these default parameters be retained for all documents that I open/ create. For example, ALWAYS open as Paragraph Numbers, ALWAYS open as Visible Rectangle, etc., etc., for all available parameters... and not revert to InDesign's defaults.

  18. show existing guide rows and columns

    When you create guides, then want to change how many rows and/or columns you have, the existing number of guides does not appear in the dialogue box, so if I want to change how many rows/columns I have, I have to count them first. Please just have the numbers for the existing guides in there automatically. Please?

  19. Support of macOS 'Dark Mode' in InDesign

    Load/Save dialogues and title bar don't honour 'dark mode' in the latest Mac OS

    • Open/Save dialogues (Illustrator/Photoshop/Indesign/AcobatDC)
    • Title bar (Illustrator/Indesign/AcobatDC)

    Haven't tried any other apps yet...
