Thanks for making this request. In order to understand the use-case more better I have a few questions:
1. Whats the role of the different people working collaboratively on the same file. Are they always only designers or are other personas also involved.
2. What is the use-case here, some parts of this request suggest an Editorial collaboration whereas others suggest collaboration amongst different designers. I am trying to separate these 2 requests out.
3. What are the different kind of files (brochures, books, magazines etc) for which this is required.
4. Does it need to be a web based service, or having the user be able to collaborate on one shared file using InDesign or InCopy on the Desktop will work? What is the advantage you feel over a web-service over the desktop app?
5. How do you workaround this need today? What are the most important problems with…Bastian S. supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commentedHello Abhinav Kaushik,
I just got the Update to CC 2020 as a test (not for productive yet) and could play around with the changed - it is working a lot better now than it did before (thanks for that!) buuut i noticed that there still seems to be a little bug - it updates correctly now if text is changed but not if all the text gets removed. It doesn't change till you enter new text.

An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commentedYes - i can reproduce this any time in any kind of Textbox - I will create a small Testfile for you later today since this is really important to us and a big issue in DatabasedPublishing when paginating inline - basically it is impossible to work with in its current state.

An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commentedAnd while they are at it they should add the option to add the current date as a Text-variable - When ever you forget to save before exporting your PDF - the Date on your PDF is wrong. It's so annoying :/

An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commentedNot a fix but a workaround: Create a IDML and then try to package it (Make sure to check for changes after the IDML Process) if you just need to gather all the links you can use the Adobe Bridge for that - Right click the indesign file - there should be an entry to show all linked filed somewhere in the context menu - then simply compy and paste them to your Links folder.
Hope someone can help you :)

An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commentedYup - DataMerge only works with single pages - that'd be a feature request.

Issue is still seen in 'Immediate' Live Screen Drawing mode, when pressing alt in between the drag while copying to another spread
An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commentedI take that back.. it also does not work for me when the pages are on a different spread.
So from left to right page works great - from one spread to another does not.
Screen recording attached.

Working fine - tried copying / dragging several objects and groups between pages. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commentedThere is a setting for that in the Layers dropdown menu - just change it and it will behave as you described.

I have tested this in the current version of InDesign (15.0.3.425) and have the same issue - InDesign crashes instantly.
Resizing single Textboxes was fine - till i doubleclicked one of the handles => Instant crash.
See attached Screenrec (Video also shows the version number at the beginning)
