tested with Colin's InDesign document opened in the prerelease build issued today.
Bug is fixed. All the data with text on path is there. Nothing is missing. Thanks,
Uwe Laubender
( ACP )An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedAlso tested with CS6 on Mac OS X 10.11.6. Issue persists. Also the one with opening the IDML file.

UweAn error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedAhem…
And while testing with older versions I tripped over a bug with IDML with data merge: Opening an IDML version of your document with CC 2017.1 revealed only one assigned merge field out of two in the original INDD document. I had to reapply the second merge field in the text frame. The one on the text path was ok.Result of the merged PDF was the same: Text on path missing on page 2 and onward.
So I guess this is an old bug…Regards,

Thank you all for the votes.
Can you help us understand the key problems that you face in the absence of ability to send an anchored image backwards?
What’s the current workaround that you have to follow?
What are the use cases wherein you need that the text appears specifically on top of inline anchored image?
This information will help us evaluate the functionality better.
Uwe Laubender supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi together,
there are three types of anchored objects:
Inline anchored, above line anchored and anchored. With Above Line Anchored objects text can be above the anchored object. See my screenshot uploaded to Dropbox:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/248t4ihodgx7l4f/AboveLineAnchoredImage-TextOnTop.PNG?dl=0
Of course it would be great if one could do that with the other two types of anchored object as well!
So you have my vote!Regards,

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.htmlAn error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedWhat I also see on my machine when testing GREP "w?" with InDesign CC 2018.1:
Memory consumption goes way up for task "Adobe InDesign CC 2018" as shown in the task manager. After a little while non-reacting InDesign is using more than 50% of my memory, constantly increasing. After two minutes 60% of RAM. So I had to kill the process, because I did not want my machine to crash. Fan is also whirling like mad. Have 68 GByte of RAM installed.

( ACP )Uwe Laubender supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Roland,
there's already a strange behavior if you are use the findWhat field for GREP in the UI and look for "w?" and there is nothing in the change field. Or formatting change is not defined. The first insertion point of a story is found. And then nothing on, even if there is a "w" somewhere in the text of the same story. ( Tested with CS6 and CC 2018.1 on Windows 10 (1803)).And yes, I can confirm, that InDesign is freezing.

I understand the confusion and apologise for the same. Before we could get out the issues in a release we posted the workaround plugins for any users who were blocked due to the bugs.
We have now send out an update to all InDesign users which has those bug fixes in them. Again sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while, We have concluded our investigation into the issue and below is our finding.
This issue is due to the use of a specific version of Extensis Universal Type client: version 6.1.6.
The issue is reproducible only with Id 2018 as Extensis UTC 6.1.6 is not compatible with Id 2019.Please note:
If you are using Extensis UTC 6.1.6 with InDesign 2018 please use any other version of Extensis UTC which is compatible with Id 2018 to avoid this issue.Or you can upgrade to Id 2019 and used compatible version of Extensis UTC.
Thanks,

If i disable UTC plugin everything works just fine - I'am contacting there support now.As a temp. solution it's seems to work if we SAVE AS.
New documents are not having this problem.:: Mads Daniel"
Hope, that helps.

The feature to “Preserve Filename on PDF Export” was introduced in InDesign 2019 in the PDF Export dialog.
The option is called “Use InDesign Document Name as the Output Filename”.Marking this Feature Request as Completed.

InDesign TeamUwe Laubender supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Barry,
this is a bug I'm also seeing with InDesign CC 2018.1.
Thank you for reporting.I think, that's "only" a screen redraw issue.
Saving a document, closing and re-opening the document should be fixing it temporarily.Regards,

Hi Stephen,
There is a preference in InDesign to save preview images with document, by default ‘First 2 Pages’ is selected in that preference. You can change the setting as per your requirement. It is under ‘InDesign CC/ Edit→Preferences→File Handling’.
Thanks
-AnshulAn error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi Stephen,
check your preferences with InDesign. Bridge is reading out the Preview images of pages that are stored inside an InDesign document. Default is to store the first two pages. You can change that to all pages. Also changable is the size of the preview images.Regards,
Uwe Laubender

Uwe Laubender supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Uwe Laubender commentedHi together,
I'm on Mac OS X and can see this bug a bit differently. I'm on InDesign CC 2018.1 version 13.1.0.76.
I am able to drag the panel to a larger size (bottom right corner only), but if I close and open the panel the window is resized again to the small size.Could you try a workaround: Group the EPUB Interactivity Preview Panel with another panel like the Animation panel, then it could be resizable again. And stays in size. At least that's a workaround for Mac OS X. Don't know if it helps on WIndows…

FWIW: The bug with the IDML conversion is still there.
To test this:
1. Open Colin's document with the latest build of InDesign prerelease.
2. Export to IDML.
3. Open the IDML with the latest build of InDesign prerelease.
4. Do a datamerge process where you merge directly to PDF.
The second data field in the document, the one in the text frame, not the one on the text path, will NOT be populated with data. The PDF will just show <<names>> at the beginning of the text of the text frame.
Workaround:
Do the data field again. First remove <<names>> so that the first insertion point of the text frame is selected and then click the names data field in the Data Merge Panel to insert the field.

Uwe Laubender
