The InDesign team appreciates your valuable feedback and concerns. These go a long way in helping us make InDesign better for you and update it continuously to cater to evolving user needs. The app bar design was changed as part of these improvement efforts, and will also help us in introducing some modern and exciting functionalities which we have been working on.
While doing this, we have taken care not to remove any existing functionalities which were available in the previous App Bar design. These have only been relocated – either grouped along with similar functionalities (based on results from our user research) or shifted to improve usability (to provide a consistent experience) while working across Creative Cloud apps, especially Photoshop (Ps) & Illustrator (Ai), which are frequently used by InDesign users. We do understand that it takes time & effort in adopting these but we sincerely hope that the…

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.htmlAn error occurred while saving the comment C W commentedHi Uwe -- Yes, it's an InDesign table. So many many problems with the Import PDF Comments feature. Not sure for whom it is useful at this stage. For my work it's terrifyingly destructive. I won't touch it with a 10-foot pole until it's better thought out and implemented.

2. Import edits from PDF to a text box that overlays another text box, in this case strikethroughs of text on the TOP BOX
3. Select "Apply" to edit
4. Edits are made TO THE LAYER BELOW.See screen dumps.
1: what the edit looks like in Acrobat.
2: what the ID file looks like with the PDF edit imported -- not visible.
3: what the ID file looks like when the caption is resized for clarity -- ID is applying the edits to the text on the LAYER BELOW.C W shared this idea · -

Double-click the Eyedropper Tool to open Eyedropper Options dialog.
Check that Character and Paragraph Settings option are checked ON.An error occurred while saving the comment C W commentedEyedropper does not work to pick up text formatting for text within a table cell for me either. In order to pick up and apply basic formats like font and size I have to copy the text to a non-table box and format it, then paste it back into the cell. OSX 10.13.1, ID 13.0.1

An error occurred while saving the comment C W commentedInDesign does not recognize that an placed AI file has changed -- if the change is minor, for instance shifting graphics on the artboard. If Illustrator artwork is moved relative to the artboard, then just saved (command S), the file does not show as modified in the Links panel. In order for InDesign to see it as modified, the Illustrator file must be Saved As and overwritten. This is an ongoing problem for at least the last three iterations of InDesign, but specs are:
InDesign CC 2017 13.0
Illustrator CC 2017 22.0.0
OSX 10.13C W supported this idea ·
Same specs here: MacOS 10.14.6, Indesign just updated last night to 15.1.2 -- no cursor in most if not all boxes.
