After pressing "Cancel" in "Relink..." dialog, the item is no longer selected in the Links panel
- InDesign 13.1 x64, WIndows 10
- Select an image on the page, and it is highlighted in the links panel. Press "Relink...". Press "Cancel".
- The link should be highlighted in the links palette so I could press "Relink..." again immediately
- The frame is still selected but the image is no longer highlighted in the Links panel. You have to deselect the frame and re-select it (or manually click the link in the panel) to highlight it again.

Edit with other - doesn't see Photoshop as an application
I use the Indesign feature on the links menu to Edit With, either using the default application or another. We just updated to the latest CC (ps, il, in) and the other application isn't the same. For any jpg or pdf, it shows Photoshop or illustrator or Acrobat as available to open the image selected. However, if I select an ai. file, it shows Illustrator as the default, and Preview as another option - no Photoshop. I select Other to add Photoshop, go to the applications folders, click on Photoshop and it's only seeing it as a folder, not as an application.
From a finder window, if I click on an ai. file, choose open with other, go to the applications folders, select Photoshop it does see it as an applications and allows me to open the file.
It was a very useful, speedy way to edit images in either illustrator or photoshop using the Edit With in Indesign.
Why doesn't it work now? Why does Indesign not see Photoshop as application anymore?

Typographer's Quotes bug?
I've encountered an issue with Typographer's Quotes not working. I've searched extensively online and tried all the usual suspects (Typographer's Quotes is on in preferences, both Document and without any documents open; reset preferences) but I've been unable to fix them.
After further investigation, it seems that the issue only occurs using a single typeface (Skolar Latin, installed as OTF versions in Windows 10 Pro itself, rather than via Typekit). When typing double or single quote marks in InDesign with any weight of this typeface, then the straight version is inserted, irrespective of the Typographer's Quotes setting. If I do a search for the relevant double or single quote marks and replace them with the same (as this used to fix the issue on the Mac) it replaces them with the straight version, again, irrespective of the Typographer's Quotes setting. However, if I use any other typeface, the issue doesn't occur - all quotes are inserted with the correct Typographer's version.
I've also conducted some other investigation and, basically, narrowed it down to being an issue (bug?) with InDesign CC 2018 (version 13.1 x64) on Windows 10 Pro (version 1803, OS build 17134.165; Dell XPS 8930 / i7-8700 / 16GB RAM / GTX-1060 6GB). I've arrived at this conclusion due to the following reasons:
Typographer's Quotes work fine in Illustrator CC 2018 / Photoshop CC 2018 / Microsoft Word on the same PC - hence not an issue with the OTF files, or anything relating to the font files themselves.
The issue doesn't occur when opening the same file in the Mac version of InDesign CC 2018 - hence not an issue specifically relating to the document file, InDesign preferences, or and Paragraph / Character Styles, or OTF files (as all are the same as on the PC).
The issue is reproducible in different InDesign documents on the same PC.
The issue is reproducible on a different PC.

type tool stops working / document freezes
My Type / Text Frame button randomly stops working and then the whole document freezes. I then exit out of the document, open it again and it either works for a few edits until it freezes again or I need to close/open numerous times until it works. I've done all the updates and this has been happening for a few weeks.

eyedropper tool
Adobe InDesign CC 2017 (also 2018) The eyedropper tool does not work on text, when there is a second layer with data in it. On the screenshot I tried to make the text green.
When the red layer is turned off, it works properly.3 votes -
'Move Pages' causes the position of content to shift to the right on right-side pages, master same for both files
'Move Pages' causes the position of content to shift to the right on right-side pages, even though the master pages are the same for both files.
I am trying to take several page sets and combine them in one file, but I have to manually fix them after moving the pages over. Very concerning as I'm not sure if anything else is breaking or getting lost in the move.

US Dictionary continues to use UK spellings
My Indesign Dictionary is set to English: USA, but it still regularly corrects to UK spellings i.e. enrol vs. enroll. I am running Indesign 13.1. Can this be fixed?
3 votesThe Dictionary section in Preferences dialog shows the Dictionary that is in use for a particular Language. The path (which looks like /Linguistics/UserDictionaries/Adobe Custom Dictionary/…) shown in the dialog is the location of the dictionary that is being used. You can add your own custom User Dictionary by clicking on the + button.
The Language used for Spell check is NOT the one chosen in the Preferences dialog. To specify the default Language used for Spell check for all documents, you should close all documents and select the Type Tool. The Control panel (when Character Formatting Controls – ‘A’ button is selected at the left) shows the Default Language set for all documents. This is the language used for Spell Check. You can also open the Paragraph Styles panel, double-click on the [Basic Paragraph] style and under Advanced Character Formats section, change the Language.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

InCopy assignment names don't change with file name
Backstory:
We have particularly formatted files that we use to create new versions for new products. The copy isn't created new, but modified from the old version that was already used in InCopy. The Issue:
My InCopy guy FREAKS OUT when he sees the name of the assignment assets (attached screenshot) are that of a previous project not at all related to the file he's currently working on.The Long and Complicated Solutions:
I know there's a way in InCopy to rename these, but it's long, complicated and outside of a standard workflow. A shorter and easier method would be to create a new text object and copy/paste the text there. But that's still not ideal. An Ideal Solutions? (if ever at all possible):
The actual Assignment name (that starts as "Assignment 1") can be changed by simply double clicking it form the assignments panel if you neglected to change it when the assignment was created. Could assets also get that treatment maybe?Any simple fixes would be helpful.

Dictionary Hyphenation in Uppercase ignored (German)
Custom hyphenation settings are ignored for uppercase words in user dictionary (at least in german).
Example:
dictionary entry: "kro~~~nach" (select field "case-sensitive" not set)
Expected behaviour:
Lorem ipsum Kro-
nach dolor sit amet kro-
nach
Actual behaviour:
Lorem ipsum Kron-
ach dolor sit amet kro-
nach
Workaround:
Enabling "Case-sensitive" and adding lowercase and uppercase version leads to correct hyphenation.

Indesign crashes when I export 2 PDF files in a row.
I always create two PDF files for clients. One with spreads and one with single pages. But every time I try to export the second PDF (no matter which I do first) the app crashes.
This happens every single time, even if I wait until the first PDF is long finished.

pages tab unable to scroll past spread 42-43
I have a book with 56 pages. The 'Pages' tab can only scroll to pages 42-43. I can't get to the pages below. This makes it impossible to rearrange pages below 42-43.

Endnotes and multi-language layers
InDesign CC 13.1
As a long-time user of ID, I want to report what looks to me like a serious bug.
Working on a multi-language book project for the first time since the endnotes feature was introduced, I noticed that when importing the second language on a separate layer (as I have been doing for many years without any problems) the endnotes are imported with correct references in the text but the notes themselves lose their numbers, showing the dreaded <?> instead.
Trying to work around the problem using David Blatner's DTP tools' "import layers" feature gives the same result.
It is my experience that the Introduction of the second language with its notes also jumbles up the arrangement of the notes of the first language (which were alright to begin with).Since we are making books in simultaneously published language editions all the time, the possibility to combine the use of both endnotes and layers is crucial. Now, in the middle of the project I had to revert to the old ways with separate files for separate languages, which is a pain as you can imagine.
I would even settle for forgoing the assets of the endnotes function and working with "dead" endnotes—as I have been doing for so many years—in order to regain the benefit of using layers, but, unfortunately, this version of ID does not allow me to import the notes as normal text.
Thanks for your help.

Fullscreen Application Frame Under Menu Bar
When opening the program, occasionally the top bar of the interface is under the menu bar. Being as that also contains the portion of the interface used for moving the whole window, I must change my System Settings to hide the menu bar to move it back down. This also happens in a couple other CC programs as well.

Hand Tool/Help Menu Shortcuts Mixed Up
In their default states, the Hand Tool and Help menu options are bound to H and F1 respectively, but pressing H during normal use of the program consistently uses Help instead of the Hand tool.
Removing the F1 shortcut from the Help menu fixes this issue. I've experienced it in other areas, and I assume this solution will work for those as well.

Indesign doesn´t load printer configuration
When I try to print and go to printer preferences, InDesign does not load the preferences saved in the driver for printing modes, paper sizes, etc. It is an Epson SC-P800.
