1. Print to PDF with trapping gives undefined error.

   How about Adobe fix this problem of printing to PDF with trapping. It had been giving this problem since v18. Every printer that images film or plates use the trapping feature for assistance in press registration. Adobe InDesign is useless in creating PDF files with trapping. I guess I will have to start using my Quark Xpress program to do this.

2. problem with Hyphenation

   In the generated PDF file, in some cases, an additional letter is added to the hyphenation sign
   When you copy the text from the pdf file, an additional symbol appears. How do I fix this problem?

3. Some dielines converting to filled shapes

   Environment:
   CS 2025 (InDesign 20.0.1, Illustrator 29.1)
   Mac Studio (M2 Ultra, 192gb, Sonoma 14.7.1)

   We receive dielines as .dxf files from engineering. We open these files in Illustrator and create a layered file (dieline and art), export the individual layers as dieline and art, then impose the project using InDesign. Some dielines are changing from a stroke to a filled shape (think Minus Front) once the .pdf file is written from InDesign. (line verified as line in Illustrator in both the Illustrator document and the pdf generated of the dieline to use for imposition. InDesign generated (imposed) pdf file is different from the files used to create the pdf. Attempted to resolve problem by placing Illustrator file and using "Object Layer Options" to control desired art. No effect.

   Occurs mostly on interior cuts, not perimeter cuts.

   Thoughts?

6. set default save location to original file folder

   Please make a setting in preferences with two options for default file save locations:
   a) Always save to last used folder (the folder you used in the last save to session)
   b) Always save to doc uments original folder (the folder where each individual document currently is saved and opened from)

   Currently InDesign uses option a) which in my case is a total desaster since everytime I am in a hurry saving or exporting something the file lands in some other project folder where i can search / delete or move it afterwards which results in a bad workflow.

7. Indesign Beta 2025 Importing a PDF - baseline shift is off

   Opening up a PDF (which was orgincailly created in Indesign) in Indesign seemed to shift baseline shifts of body text to -4pt and then the super/sub/ scripts to -7.32pt?

8. Punjabi / Gurmukhi character encoding errors after exporting to interactive PDF

   InDesign 2025 and 2024:

   Punjabi / Gurmukhi documents exported to interactive PDF have character encoding issues. Some glyphs cannot be read by screen readers or output to braille.

   After many hours of research and testing, it was discovered that exporting from InDesign 2023 does not create this issue.

9. incopy

   I am using InCopy v. 20.0 with DropBox. When I open a document, changes that other teammates have made to items in the Assignments panel have not automatically updated like they used to. This is a new issue with the most recent update. Prior to the update, when I opened a file, any changes by myself or other people have updated automatically, but now I have to manually update each one in the Assignments panel. Is there a fix or a setting change that can address this?

10. Share for Review does not update

    Share for Review creates a link but does not update content.

    Reproducing:
    - File created in InDesign 2024, Share for Review link created. Updating the content often showed a red "There was an error updating the artifact" error but would still update content in the link
    - File opened in InDesign 2025, where it was converted to a 2025 file. Comments from previous version carried over in "Review" panel
    - Clicking "Update Content" in Share for Review causes long loading icon. Once completed, it showed no red error, but the link did not update content. Upon third or fourth try, the red "There was an error updating this artifact" appears.

    Share for Review creates a link but does not update content.

11. Hyperlink messes up data merge in multiple record layout

    I've tested this in multiple documents, and it appears that if you add a hyperlink to a document, it messes with the data merge in a multiple record layout. The resulting merge is out of order, and every third record is duplicated, as you can see in the attached screenshots. My workaround right now is to add the hyperlink after the merge, but it would be nice if my templates could include links so I don't have to do this each time.

    Using Arrow Keys in Transform Panel/Control Panel no longer works properly - ID 20.0.

    Since upgrading to ID 2025 (20.0) using the arrow keys in Transform Panel or Control Panel no longer works properly. Previously I would scale something larger/smaller using the arrow (or Shift+Arrow): 110%, 120%, 130% ... .
    Now with Shift+ArrowUp it will first scale 110%, then the cursor is no longer in the Scale Percentage Field. Second Shift+Arrow click and instead the Object will Flip Vertical. Third Shift+Arrow and it will start moving up the page.

    Now to scale up another 10% I have to replace the cursor in the Scale Percentage Field. Quite annoying when wanting to quickly scale something to size.

    This problem is not just with the Percent Scale Field but all the Input fields seen to react this way. Width/Height, skew by degrees, rotate ....

    This seems to happen only with placed images. Objects or Text Boxes created in the Document still continue scaling larger.

    Windows 10, ID 20.0, recently reinstalled Wacom Intuos but that was working okay before so doubt that is the issue.

13. Adobe Review: automatic adoption of text suggestions and incorrect filter behavior

    When I receive comments on replacing text or deleting text sections via Adobe Review and these are displayed in Adobe InDesign 20.0, the display switches to comments with the status clarified. After each correction, which cannot be accepted with approval but must be made manually, I have to set the filter in the control panel back to unresolved comments to work on.
    It would be desirable for a filter to only be set in the control panel when I activate it. I would also like options for inserting, replacing or deleting text to be applied with a click and not have to be done manually.

14. Not working window tiling introduced in macOS 15

    MacOS 15 Sequoia introduced window tiling, which lets you arrange windows on the screen in tiles.

    This automatically works for any window of any app on my Mac. It also works for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator windows, as long as «Application Frame» is activated in the window menu.

    But window tiling does not work with windows of Adobe InDesign v20. Even with active «Window Frame».

15. Inserting PDF-comments removes OpenType superscript formatting of endnote references

    When a PDF-comment is accepted and inserted into the text, the formatting of the following endnote reference(s) with OpenType superscript position is removed.

    This applies only to numbers with at least two digits and affects only the last digit(s). When another PDF-comment is inserted into the Paragraph, the problem occurs again.

    The formatting is applied through a Character Style and while the Character Style remains applied, the formatting of the OpenType superscript position is visually removed.

    A workaround is to apply the Character Style to the character(s) following the endnote reference. This is not always possible, so often the thinnest space (an 'invisible' character) has to be added behind the endnote reference to be able to apply this workaround. When another PDF-comment is added into the same Paragraph, another 'invisible' character needs to be inserted to fix it again. The problem seems to shift equally to the number of PDF-comments inserted into the text.

    Of course this bug and workaround costs a lot of extra time and therefore money, plus it negatively affects the relationship with the client.

16. View on open document fades to pure grey (i.e. the chosen background color)

    Happens frequently, mostly after some actions just after the opening of the app. See attached screenshot with applied "select all" command to show something.
    Temporary solution: Reopen document. But that is still irritating for a mature application.

20. Data Merge Issue with Chinese Characters in Adobe InDesign 2025

    Steps to Reproduce the Issue

    Open Adobe InDesign and create a new document.
    Prepare a CSV file with Traditional Chinese text using UTF-8 encoding.
    Use the Data Merge feature to import the CSV file into InDesign.
    Place the merged data field into the document layout.
    Preview or finalize the merge.
    Expected Result

    The Chinese characters in the CSV file should be displayed correctly in the merged document without any distortion or encoding issues.
    Actual Result

    The Chinese characters appear as garbled text (random symbols or question marks) during the merge preview and in the final output.
    Switching to different fonts (e.g., TrueType, OpenType, or system default fonts) does not resolve the issue.
    Attempts with different encoding formats (UTF-8, UTF-16, etc.) and alternative CSV/text file formats (via Google Sheets, TextEdit) also fail.
    Upgrading to Adobe InDesign 2025 (20.0) Traditional Chinese version does not fix the issue.
