1. Nach Update fehlt die Möglichkeit ein Bild im Text zu verankern

   Seit dem Update auf InDesign 17.3. fehlt all meinen Bildrahmen das kleine grüne Kästchen das man zur Verankerung von Grafiken in Texten verwenden konnte. Auch das Einfügen eines verankerten Bilder per rechten Mausklick funktioniert nicht mehr. Vor zwei Tagen war die Funktion noch wie gewohnt vorhanden. Gibt es evtl. einen ShortCut, um diese Funktion wieder zu aktivieren oder die Möglichkeit die Software darauf hin zurück zusetzen, dass die gewohnte Funktion wieder vorhanden ist?

   Leider kann ich außerdem in diesem Webformular mit dem unten stehenden Button weder PNG-Dateien noch JPG-Dateien uploaden, um ihnen ein Bild von meinem Problem zu zeigen :-( Fehlermeldung: "The following files are not supported and have been removed:

3. Display settings affect Epub output

   I just spent a couple of hours trying to figure out why one of my images (placed Illustrator file) was pixelating in EPub output. The same image is placed in 6 places, and only in three of those instances was the output incorrect. Image is identically placed in all six instances (size and scaling), the link is valid (not missing), and all export settings were correct. As a last resort troubleshooting this, I realized that in the three locations that were pixelated, the display setting for those three was set to Typical rather than High Quality. I set them to High Quality and lo and behold the export was fixed.

   I've never seen this happen before and I know that it's not supposed to happen at all, but in this case it was definitely the problem. I'm assuming it's a bug, but whether it's repeatable or not I don't know. Unfortunately, I can't send the file in question for analysis because the content is sensitive and proprietary but wanted to report it anyway in case others are having the same problem.

4. Switching between Cross Reference "Link To" types causes Crash

   1. New Hyperlink Destination: saved a Text Anchor (paragraph includes a graphic so I don't want to use the Cross Reference > Link To Paragraph option in this instance.)
   2. Cross-References palette hamburger
   3. Insert Cross-Reference...
   4. Change Link To from Paragraph to Text Anchor and it crashes. (I want to use Cross Reference instead of Hyperlink so it will include dynamic page number.)

   See attached crash reports and screenshots (you'll know which goes with which by time indicated in file names).

   This is super frustrating and is hindering the project's progress. Please fix/stabilize soon.

5. Parent page issues Indesign 2022

   Indesign 17.3
   Mac OS 12.4

   Facing page document using 4 parent pages. All pages become left pages when converting to single pages. This has never happened in over 20 years of working in Indesign.

6. pages panel scrollbar and accents in spanish

   Hi. indesign 17.3 has been giving a lot of problems lately. The page panel has no sidebar to scroll down and up. There are pages that go blank and I have to restart the program to get the information back. If I type text, the Spanish accents "'" appear in triplicate. Could you please solve these problems?

7. Swatches panel scrolls when selecting a swatch with wacom tablet

   InDesign 2022 v17.3

   Whenever I select a swatch using the pen on my Wacom Intuous the swatches panel scrolls randomly, sometimes scrolling so far that the selected swatch is no longer visible. This issue happens about 95% of the time while using the Wacom.

   Using the mouse or touch function on the wacom does not have this issue. This issue also doesn't affect any other panels within InDesign.

8. Table Of Contents Page Number Before Entry and Alphabetical Listing

   I'm on InDesign 17.3 on an Intel iMac Pro (2017) running macOS 12.4 (Monterey), though I have the same problem on my new M1 MacBook Pro (same OS). No matter what I do, no matter what preferences I reset or cache I clear, I can't generate a table of contents with the page numbers before the listing, or generate a table of contents in alphabetical order instead of page order. I know it worked at one point, because I painstakingly created a paragraph style with nested styles to automatically generate my table of contents for the monthly magazine I make. At some point, though, page number before entry and alphabetical listing just stopped being a thing, even though the options still appear to be available.

9. screen reproduction of color is spazzing out

   I'm trying to get InDesign to display colors correctly. I have synced all my settings with our printer, deleted a cache file (Users⁩ ▸ ⁨username ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Preferences⁩ ▸ ⁨Adobe⁩ ▸ ⁨Color ▸ ⁨ACEConfigCache2.lst) that was causing a problem, updated the program, restarted the computer—all the usual suspects. (Deleting the cache file worked for about one second—it repopulated the instant I re-opened InDesign each time).

   Now what's happening is that the appearance of color isn't stable. It changes between two looks, seemingly at random, as I click on things. I've attached screenshots of the two different ways that it looks. The darker of these is closer to accurate—screen colors match the swatches in the palette better in that version. I really want it to stay that way!

   Because of the way it's happening, this is clearly a bug. Please fix it!

11. SmartStream crash

    We are experiencing an issue where InDesign v21 will crash while we are using HP SmartStream Designer. This occurs when we start creating an imposed job, and will fail at different times with our templates. We notice this occurs predominately with the 6x9 postcard template.

    This happens often enough to where we are hesitant to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign, as we are not having this issue with v19. We have tried remaking the template file, which did not fix the issue. Is this a known bug? What steps would be best for us to try next?

15. new frames automatically placed below pasteboard

    I am using InDesign 17.2 x64.

    Occasionally when pressing the little red box of a text frame to continue the story and then placing it on the next page, the text frame will be placed not on the page but far below the pasteboard. (It will have an X value of anywhere from 68 to 400 inches.) It also increases the size of the pasteboard. This happens regardless if the text frame has an object style applied with a position value, or if it has no object style applied.

    It also happens if the the shift key is held down when the new frame is placed, and prevents placing more than one frame at a time.

    It doesn't happen on every document, but once the bug occurs, it affects all frames/stories in the document, and the issue persists in new copies of the file, in an idml version of the file, and in the idml file if it is opened in earlier versions of InDesign.

    It also happens on completely blank master pages, so it's not an invisible text wrap or something.

    I am using InDesign 17.2 x64.

16. epub doesn't support the none color. Since it has no colour it needs to output in a way that it is not displayed to the user.

    Erub doesn't support the colour "None" which I use when I need to hide text from a document. [ And seriously it would be MUCH easier if you allowed people to post files created in YOUR tools to user voice. You look like you don't care. ]

17. Right-to-Left and Left-to-Right text boxes and style sheets are confusing

    Dear Adobe InDesign Team,

    Please simplify how users specify left-to-right Western language text boxes and documents versus right-to-left Middle Eastern language text boxes and documents in the multi language version of InDesign.

    There are no fewer that four places where paragraph direction and language specification appear in various places in the InDesign workspace.

    Users would benefit from simplification of language-switching tools, because InDesign's interface does not readily expose what language text direction it is using and sometimes switches paragraph direction without users knowing what these international language settings are defaulting to.

    My issue had to do with US English text showing up properly in a text box, but when I tried to format a numbered list using the tab bar, the tab margin indicators were reversed, and I could not set up tabs.

    Issues also show up when a text box is identified as US English, but InDesign's dictionary thinks the texts is a right-to-left language and marks every word misspelled.

    Pleases simplify how languages are specified and have InDesign automatically switch paragraph direction once the user determines the language of the document.

    The only exception needed is when foreign words are embedded in text and need to appear right-to-left within a left-to-right text environment (or visa versa) — or when a document needs to be dual-language.

18. Keep Getting an error code 205 when launching InDesign

    Bonjour,
    Depuis ma dernière mise à jour InDesign 17.3 le code erreur 205 s’affiche, j’ai essayé de le désinstaller, réinstaller… Mais rien à faire. J’ai donc suivi les instructions d’Abobe par rapport au code erreur 205 mais toujours la même chose. Après avoir insisté j’ai enfin réussi à ouvrir InDesign, tout fonctionnait bien. Mais quand j’ai redémarré mon ordinateur je ne pouvais plus utiliser InDesign (code erreur 205).Aujourd’hui même en téléchargeant la version antérieure le code d’erreur 205 s’affiche au démarrage du logiciel Indesign. Le reste des logiciels eux fonctionne bien. Merci de votre aide !

    Indesign doesn't mark 'single letter Replace' comments in the last words in the line. If there is 'Replace single letter' in previous words, it works fine, if there is 'Replace whole last word', it works fine.
