Printing Error: Problem initializing the current printer - Check the system print setting?
I have not changed anything in my settings for this error to occur? The previous version works and I have cross-referenced all my settings and they match but it will not allow the print booklet export to the Adobe PDF drive which has always worked?

    Sometimes, InDesign might crash while accessing the printer setup or while printing documents with some specific printers. The crash is intermittent and specific to Windows only.
Currently, this issue is observed with the following printers when their drivers are not updated:
•	Konica Minolta 
•	Canon ColorPass
•	LANIER
If the printer you are using is not listed here or if updating the drivers of the listed printers does not resolve the issue, please share the following information at sharewithID@adobe.com to help us investigate the issue further:
•	Printer driver and printer setup details.
•	The configuration of your printer – local, network, or wireless.
•	Is the printer configured as your default printer?

 commentedI am using a Primera printer - to print labels - and getting the" Printing Error: Problem initialising the current printer. Check the system print settings". I have followed the above suggestions, but no solution yet. Is there something else I can do,? Has Adobe changed something? Or what is theeh technical reason behind such an error if I need to go back to Primera? Any assistance would be grateful. Best regards

 commentedI am facing the same issue with InDesign and Photoshop 2019 using Windows 10. It was printing perfectly two days ago and now the program crashes and closes suddenly. I have sent many crash reports but still cannot print from both the desktop and laptop.

 commentedI started having this again after the latest Oct 2018 update. I tried several options as described below but it doesn't work from the Print. However, I can still Export so at least I have an option.

 commentedI also had the same issue lately. To fix the issue, I uninstalled it completely and reinstall update version. Then it starts working very well. I think while updating it miss some of the files.

 commentedIt usually happens with the hp user if you use 3rd party cartridge. Hp driver update recognizes it cause the problem. If it happens due to the cartridge, changing paper won't work know more at https://www.printererrorrepair.com/canon-customer-service/

 commentedI have the same problem when printing a booklet. Yes it works to change to printer to Microsoft print to PDF, and then change it back to Adobe PDF again. I get the solution from the

 commentedThis worked for me: 
 1. I created a blank file with the same number of pages as the original ID file
 2. I imported the original file with options/all pages and placed it
 3. Printed to booklet
 It's a workaround, but quick and relatively painless. I make any edits to the original, and the new file updates automatically when opening it for print to booklet
