footnotes bug
How do I get footnote #1 in my screenshot to show up with footnotes #2 and #3 at the bottom of the page. For the life of me, I cannot find a setting that makes this possible. Thank you in advance.

colored areas on the screen

InDesign Just Doesn't Work
In a brand new file with 300 pages, tried placing a 100-page Word file numerous times, and it just wouldn't work. After a certain number of pages, the text would just stop. Sometimes, it would think that there was more text that I could place on the next page frame, and when I'd do those steps, it would just either create another blank frame, or pile multiple new frames of text on a single page. This is basic functionality that should be bulletproof, and it isn't. (For reference, I'm a long-time tech author who even taught PageMaker to clients in…

Last row of pages panel in horizontal view is missing page numbers under them.
Currently on Mac OS Big Sur using inDesign 16.1
When viewing the pages panel in horizontal view and the page count exceeds what the panel can hold the scroll bars appear but then the last row of pages seem to have their page numbers hidden behind the UI and are not visible no matter how much you move the scroll bars down.
I have seen this behavior since inDesign 15 on Mac OS Catalina.

Selection Tool cursor disappear issue
After few hours with no activity on Mac with Silicon disappear the Selection Tool cursor on the artboard. Quit the app and reopen it works as a solution for now.

Hairlines/artifacts randomly appearing on screen
Glitches of bands of light or dark pixels may appear over images, in transparencies and effects. These may come and go depending on resolution preview mode, zoom and/or if overprint preview is rendered. (The lines are similar to tiling lines in PDFx1a in that they are rendering glitches presumably caused by floating point calculations)

Problem with the display of the navigation bar on an Android smartphone and tablet of a document published by publish online
Hi all,
I have a strange situation with a document that I created in InDesign and then published online using "Publish Online". From there I got a link to share.
On the desk, everything is fine. But the problem is with Android devices where the options tab with next page, previous page, download button and others disappears after a few seconds and there is no way to get it back.
It is not possible to navigate between the pages of the document.
This is the bar with the options I am talking about in the attachment.

syntax issue in exported pdf out of latest ID Version
Was exporting a simple white pdf created with Indesign and High Print Quality Profile. Preflight is saying that there is a syntax-issue (General File Format Error).

Variable font doesn't...vary.
I just installed the new Macklin variable fonts from Monotype. They work as expected in Illustrator, and the "regular" cut works as expected in InDesign. However, the Macklin Sans font dosen't work well in InDesign: the prebuilt weights are functional, but when one varies the axis sliders, they seem to have no effect. Bug in the font or in InDesign?

Page transitions not working when published online to Adobe
When I publish online from InDesign, any page transitions that have been applied to pages do not work. The pages simply appear. All animations work well, but the page push that I set as a transition does not work. Hopefully someone has a solution for this? If I use a plugin like in5 I can get the desired effect. Hopefully Adobe can add the same functionality that In5 has. Can't add extra space before a styled paragraph
I need to add a few points of space before a styled paragraph to base align two columns. I add them in the paragraph box, but nothing happens and then the amount reverts to the original amount. How can I override? Never had this problem with previous versions of ID; I'm using the newest one.

InDesign .indd Files Opening in After Effects
1 - InDesign CC version 14.0.2
2 - Double click a .indd file in bridge
3 - Opens in InDesign
4 - Opens in After EffectsI've reinstalled InDesign and reset the default program in windows. Any help with this would be appreciated.
