Everything on artboard goes to bitmap intermittently
Running iD (15.1.3) on Windows 7 - Don't laugh this isn't my machine but the one I have to work on. grrrr!
Every now and again the entire artboard contents and surrounds (not the UI), changes to low resolution resulting in something resembling a scene from the game Minecraft, fonts images imported vector graphics etc. This is only on inDesign, no other program, so it's not a system or graphics card error. The attached image shows up as all bitmapped but tin reality it's just the artboard that goes pear shaped. Is there a fix for this or is it…1 vote -
character style list flashes but won't open
Sometimes, ID gets into a state where the Character Style drop-down list will not drop down. I can click either the list item itself or the little [v] button to its right, nothing happens. If I click it again, the screen will just flash open the list for just an instant, but it will not drop down the list and let me select from it. The only workaround is to use View › Character Styles, which slows me down quite a bit, because I usually leave the View › Paragraph Styles window open.

Column rules generate overlapped lines in PDF
InDesign 16.2 (Windows 10 and macOS Big Sur on M1 have the same behaviour).
I have a text frame with common rules active.
When I export a PDF (print) InDesign creates two overlapping lines in the exported PDF instead of a single line, to create the rule.
If I export a PDF (interactive) from the same document, the line is not doubled and overlapped.I upload the resulting PDFs made with print and interactive.
In some workflow, like laser engraving, this is a problem.
Can you fix this in some way?

Text with missing fonts are invisible in InDesign 16.1 macOS Catalina
Missing fonts in a document were usually showed with a replaced standard font and a light red highlight, so it pops you in the eye directly.
In the new InDesign 16.1 on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 this feature is suddendly missing for me. The text with the missing font is completely invisible. Just an empty textbox. Just when you klick in it or open the preflight window, there you can see the errors.Did I miss some new settings? Sometimes you just want to quickly edit the text and generate the final pdf later. Would be great if can enable this…

Clearer online navigation arrows on web - Accessibility & UX Improvements
Currently, the page navigation arrows are not defined enough for accessibility and clearer navigation. If someone has a published doc that is a white background, one can not see the page navigations in the main view clearly at all and people assume it's just one page. Also, the hover-over fade also can cause the assumption that it's one page.
A suggested solution is to make the directional arrows, non-fade and a 1pt thicker and more defined drop shadow...

Interactive "Go to Page" destinations don't update when pages are added or removed from document.
One of the possible interactive actions in a document is "Go to Page." I can have a button jump the Publish Online view to a different page in the document. Unlike EVERY other page-related function in InDesign, the page number designated doesn't update if a page is added or removed between the button and the target page.
Example:
I set a button on page 3, that when clicked jumps the view to page 10. If, later in the document creation/editing process, a page is deleted between these pages, the view still jumps to page 10, not page 9 which is…

publish online doesn't respect layout
I can't drop screenshots for confidentiality reasons, but the proportions of objects in the exported 'Publish online' site don't match proportions in the inDesign document.
-images are strangely blurry even though they have more than enough resolution
-online objects not aligning with where they appear to on page in working doc, and scaling/cropping within their boxes differently too.1 vote -

Spell check does not work
When I open the dialog, it already says "Spell Check Complete" at the top. I changed what to search, to get it to say "Ready to Check Spelling" then clicked "Start", but nothing happens—just goes back to saying "Spell Check Complete".
InDesign Beta (16.3) running on M1 MacBook Pro.

Opening new document and no access to most menu items
v. 16.1
- open existing document
- most menu options greyed out, not available even by shortcuts
- i should be able to open a document and print or copy something or paste into... no functions are available!
- at some point, the functions come back, but i'm not sure when or how.

Linked PDF Drawings in Indesign Document not showing in Exported Document

ID 16.2: duplicating a spread displaces all unlocked objects vertically!!

The number on the Image Place Thumbnail is not correct
It should reflect the number of images 'in' the cursor. But its 1 too high.
When 2 images are loaded, it shows 3.

Find command highlights text in background
In long INDD documents with text flowing from one page frame to another, the text often does not refresh properly when the page is turned. Using the Find command then often highlights text that is in the text story but is not visible on screen when highlighted by the Find command. The attached JPEG shows an example of the problem. The JPEG is a screenshot of an INDD page showing a Find for "Brown" but with random text highlighted at line 15. My enviroment: InDesign LTS version 15.1.3 (mandatory) - InCopy LTS version 15.1.3 (mandatory) - Extensis UTC 7.0.10 (mandatory) - clients OS Windows 10/MacOS Mojave- Font family OTF/TTF.Fonts get activated, then again so that theindesign/incopy document refreshes and detects the fonts but unfortunately this could result in significantly longer loading times for large files and other unexpected performance issues.
The fonts are active for the whole system (reg query "hklm\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\fonts)

Wrong swatch color for color using hsb values
I'm using InDesign version 16.1 on Mac OS X 11.3
When setting a color using HSB values, the color which is created is wrong.
In the screen shot I added you can see two swatches, both have the same related values.
One is set via HSB the other by RGB.

Find/Change in empty cells of a table
I am trying to add a bullet (or any other character) in empty cells in a table in InDesign. With GREP this works, but only cell by cell via 'Change'. 'Change All' does not work, however. I tested this in both CC 2020 and CC 2021.
