1. 'Search for Missing Links in this Folder' not working

   InDesign is not finding other missing links in a folder. I have only Illustrator files stored I a folder titled 'Illustrator', which is a subfolder of another folder titled 'Content'. The Indesign file sits at the same level as this 'Content' folder.

   There are over 100 Illustrator files in the folder, some with single artboards and some with multiple, and some are placed in multiple locations in the InDesign file.

   InDesign as no problem finding other missing links in other folders (titled Photoshop, PDF) which sit at the same level as the Illustrator folder.

2. Swatch gets duplicated when already in a Swatch Group

   Swatched get duplicated when importing objects with the same color swatch if the original swatch is in a group.

   To replicate the issue:
   1. Import an object from Illustrator. A swatch is created.
   OR Create a new swatch.
   2. Make a group with said swatch or swatches.
   3. Re-import same object from Illustrator. A new swatch will appear with the same name but ending in "2".

   Eg. Although a "C=100 M=0 Y=0 K=0" swatch exists (in a swatch group) the new object (which is the same as before) will create a new swatch names "C=100 M=0 Y=0 K=0 2". If the same object gets imported again a third new swatch is created "C=100 M=0 Y=0 K=0 3"

   When working with a brand manual's imported color swatches groups, this is very problematic.

3. class names when exporting to html

   Hi,
   would be nice if paragraph or character styles would be saved intact when exporting to html. I work with a lot of books to create epub versions, and many of them have class names like - 1, 2, 3. or 1level, 2level, etc. When exporting to html all names where digits at the begiingis of class name, are changed to ''. So 1-level = _-level, 2-level = _-level. Which creates obvious problem. Would be nice if other solution would be applied, for example - html1-level, html_2-level, or anything else, but with names intact.

4. InDesign quitte à répétition

   Bonjour Adobe

   J'ai un problème avec un bloc de texte dans la mise-en-pages d’un livre de 780 pages.
   Lorsque la première fois, j’ai généré la table des matières pour la Liste des figures et tableaux et que j'ai voulu y faire des corrections InDesign a quitté et quand j'ai réouvert le travail, à chaque fois que j'ai voulu enlever du texte le logiciel quitte et requitte.
   Quand j'ai regénéré la Table des matières, je n'ai plus eu ce problème avec la nouvelle Liste, mais je suis toujours pris avec ce bloc de texte problématique.

   J'avais déjà eu ce problème dans le corps du texte d’un livre de quelques 250 pages. Quand j'ai pu repérer le paragraphe fautif j’ai dû ecopier tout le reste du texte dans un autre document InDesign. Ce fut très désagréable et très long.
   Pouvez-vous me dire comment me débarrasser de ce bloc de texte svp.

   J'utilise CC 5.9.0.373, InDesign 18.0 sur IMac REtina 5K, 27 po. 2020, Big Sur 11.7.

5. Display performance

   after fighting with the display performance for a couple of days, I finally could preview it changing the settings in general settings. I haven't found any other solution for now but at least it works.

6. InDesign 2023 18.0 /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ filling up with DBTmp files

   We have an automated process using InDesign to export the XML out of a .indd files. We are experiencing a scenario where InDesign is leaving behind numerous DBTmp files in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ to the point that our Mac is filling up a 500 Gig SSD. These files do not clean up after Quitting InDesign, a Reboot, attempting the Reset InDesign Preferences Shift-Control-Option-Command startup of InDesign. These files are also locked. In our scenario, we hit 119,000 files or so and InDesign just quit working due to the drive being full. I have attached a list of the files to this request

7. Publish Online Embed and Interactivity

   When embedding a Publish Online document in a webpage, "read now" appears in the center of the document, and when the document is clicked, it goes into fullscreen mode. The problem is, once in fullscreen the "read now" button does not go away and prevents any of the interactive features in my document from being used. Once in fullscreen, the "read now" interface needs to go away.

   It may also be useful to change how a user accesses fullscreen from an embedded document. They may not want to use fullscreen but are forced to when they interact with the document.

8. 2023 InDesign PDF:

   Bleeds are not appearing when importing InDesign PDF into 2023 InDesign document using Monterey 12.2.1, even though we have accepted the document bleed settings in the preferences. The same exact file works in the previous versions (2022, 2020, 2019)

9. Mysterious page breaks

   Through several InDesign versions there is a problem with unintended page/column breaks. The bug is discussed in this forum thread:

   The workaround to remove Keep options and Balance ragged lines isn't a good one, I really need those options in a lot of my styles.
   Sometimes it's enough to type a space at the end of the paragraph before the mysterious break for everything to pop back. This bug is a huge problem in collaboration with our InCopy clients who are not experienced users.
   The bug is currently frequently encountered in both ID 17.4 and 18.0, but have been there for many years/versions.
   I can't share any screen shots/videos since I'm working with sensitive information.

10. Image catalogue script only has Desktop as a folder option. InDesign 2023

    When I've used this in previous editions, I was able to pick any folder on my computer. Now it only has Desktop as an option.

11. Crash on HTML export when notes contain hyperlinks, and messed up HTML

    Steps to reproduce
    1. Export the attached file starting with "B272" as HTML
    2. BUG: ID crashes
    3. EXPECTED: No crash
    4. QUICK FIX: Remove all notes that contain hyperlinks
    5. RESULT: No crash on export

    Note: The reason for crashing is NOT that many of the URLs contain a colon in a non-standard place. You can enter any URL and it will still crash.

    This problem happens with about 80% of files with links in endnotes. It will not happen when endnotes are converted to footnotes. 20% of the files do export without crashing, but the HTML of endnotes is often messed up.

    POSSIBLY RELATED ANOTHER BUG
    Steps to reproduce
    1. Export the attached file starting with "B617" as HTML
    2. See the HTML of the endnote 18. The last sentence is repeated twice
    3. See endnote 11. The <a> tag is not inside the "hyperlink" span, but appears at the very end, outside of the main "endnote-011" span.

    It could be that ID messes up HTML in endnotes, sometimes so badly that it crashes.

    Using latest Indesign 18.0 on Macos Ventura 13.01 on M1 chip

    Steps to reproduce
    1. Export the attached file starting with "B272" as HTML

12. Indesign crashes when pressing the hot keys for copy

    Indesign 18.0 (Apple Silicon/Intel)
    Mac OS Monterey Version 12.6
    Macbook Pro (16 Inch, 2021)
    Chip Apple M1 Max

    Brand new Macbook Pro, brand new installation of Indesign. It crashes every time I press hotkeys for copy. When it re-opens it crashes again. Everything is delayed and slow when I reopen, so I save, close Indesign and re-open. I get a good 5-10 minute run and it crashes again. Crashed 10 times today.

13. Paste with Formatting Button Obscures Text

    The new button to paste with or without text formatting is positioned so it covers up punctuation at the end of the text. This is a problem because you can't tell if the punctuation is correct and present unless you deselect, press Esc, etc. The button should be positioned lower, like the old OpenType button so all the text and punctuation can be clearly seen.

14. Hyperlink url gets cut off

    When creating a hyperlink by selecting text, the hyperlink gets cut off if the selection exceeds a certain number of characters – and the link ends up invalid.

    Easy to reproduce, see attached video.

16. hand tool stuck after sleep

    Almost always after computer screen sleep, InDesign is stuck with hand tool selected. Switching tool appears to work (changing in the panel), but cursor is still showing (and working) as the hand tool. Works after restarting Indesign. Sometimes it also resolves itself after a while, if I go working in other apps.
    The problem has been present for several versions of both InDesign and macOS, so it's not a recently appeared problem.

17. [ID-4251249] Exiting Presentation Mode changes Application's Window size at higher UI Scaling when connected to external monitor.

    InDesign's Window size set by user prior to entering Presentation mode is not retained upon exiting from Presentation mode when connected to external monitor and with the UI Scaling set to other than Small setting.
    InDesign's window becomes fullscreen.
    It would be great to get back to same size and position.

18. InDesign 23 has screwed my comp.. Can't even open file explorer tabs. Lost access to all work

    After attempting to export a PDF from InDesign with 'Full screen' opening, it crashed and closed InDesign and ever since I have no access to any of my files.

    Everytime I try to open a folder (even ones that have nothing to do with Adobe CC or programs etc.) it just freezes and crashes. So now I can't access anything on my PC. I've uninstalled & reinstalled, reset preferences on boot, saved as idml and re-saved, reset the computer.. Nothing is working.

    So not only am I unable to work today because of this (which means lost money) I imagine I'm also going to have to spend time, and possibly more money, fixing the issue myself. And quite frankly, when I pay this much for software, I expect more than a "I'm so sorry, that's just the way it is. You'll have to redo the work." response from the support team. Especially now it has gone beyond crashing in-program and I do not have access to important business documentation or anything else on my hard drive.

19. black glitch

    while I move a photo or any text, a black rectangle is created along the entire screen that prevents me from seeing what I'm doing, and it disappears as soon as I stop doing what I was doing

20. Font menu doesn't jump to the selected font in the list when font menu preview is enabled

    Pre-Indesign 18.0 when accessing the font menu it jumps to the position in the list of the current font.

    The same action in indesign 18.0 - the current font is selected in the Recent Fonts section as the top of the list. This is quite annoying.

    If Front Preview is disabled in preferences, the pre-18.0 behaviour is the result, but of course there is then no preview.

    EDIT: I set Type preferences - Number of recent font to display = 0 which has resolved my issue.
