  1. 'Background tasks' que updating fonts and so cannot PDF files

    I cannot PDF as in the 'Background tasks' que its updating fonts and I cannot stop it doing this and have to restart InDesign. Sort it out please. Also Adobe fonts are often not accessible and as a Studio we have been told to avoid using them.

  2. column guides

    Column guides don't keep the gutters consistent. When changing the guides from 2 to 3 columns with a gutter at 4mm the gutter changes to 4.33mm, WHY???

  3. PDF comment panel resets when moving back and forth to the doc

    The website is too awkward to search quickly, if this has been posted/mentioned before, so apologies if this has been covered.

    I'm working on a catalogue I have PDF Comments on, and I'm sourcing content from other ID files. When flicking back and forth, the PDF Comment panel resets back to the top and opens up each page tab, after I've minimised that page, because it's so long.

  4. Better Trackpad

    Hey. This may sound weird but I would love for the trackpad on my windows laptop to work the way it does on my mac since they've come such a long way. I bet users would appreciate the effort from your side.

  5. Y coordinates incorrect when pasting objects on pages with different heights

    I have several pages with different heights. If I paste an object using "paste in place" from page to page, they do not paste in the correct Y location from the original. However, the X location is correct.

  6. escape key works intermittently

    On macOS, escape key works intermittently to close any dialog box, such as placed image, export, or save as. For decades, I have been flying along using the escape key to dismiss dialog boxes—until these latest versions. SO frustrating. Please fix!

  7. Indesign 15.1.2

    Depuis hier, mes raccourcis clavier "dupliquer/déplacer" (fleche+option+cliquer glisser) ne fonctionne plus.
    De même, déplacer un objet ou le faire tourner avec la touche majuscule pour qu'ils se déplace selon un axe horizontal/vertical ou qu'il tourne selon 45° ne fonctionne plus :-(
    Je ne trouve pas pourquoi...
    J'ai la dernière version OS et Adobe..

  8. Crash: book-panel shows unopened file as opened, when saving Indesign crashes

    I noticed an issue with the book panel.
    For some reason sometimes it shows the icon for "file is open" on some files even though they're not opened in Indesign.

    When I open and want to save them, Indesign want me to define a filelocation again. It seems that Indesign lost the connection to the original file then.

    When saving the file (I usually overwrite the existing one) Indesign crashes.

    See attached screenshot for the "opened file"-icon in the book panel.

  9. Command & Space Problems

    Updated to MACOS - Catalania, now animated zoom doesnt work anymore by holding COMMAND & SPACE! InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop can`t do it anymore. Also holding SPACE to move the Paper doesnt work anymore.

  10. Backup

    I recently lost an important job that I developed in InDesign, due to failure in the external hard drive. I use other programs that make automatic backups and that create a backup copy of the file, thus making it possible to recover lost work through an automatic copy made by the program. Would it be possible to have this mechanism in InDesign?

  11. Inline Text Frame beside another inline Text Frame when Auto-Size

    • Make Text Frame and write word "Second".
    • Cut the Text Frame.
    • Make larger Text Frame and paste the "Second" Text Frame inside.
    • Select the character represented the Text Frame copy and paste before without any space between.
    • Select the second one change Auto-Size to Height Only.
    • Select the first one and change Auto-Size to Height Only.
    • Crash!

  14. Text cursor not displayed in InCopy on MacOS 11 (Big Sur)

    I know that InDesign 2020 (15.1.2) and InCopy 2020 (15.1.2) are not and will not be supported on Mac OS 11 (Big Sur), but nevertheless we are doing some testing because. Our customers may upgrade their Mac or buy a new one with MacOS 11 installed and expect that everything works as before.
    So we are doing some basic testing to be prepared.
    For InDesign 2020 (and 2021 prerelease) it looks fine. No big surprises.

    In InCopy however I am running into a strange glitch: the text cursor doesn't show up in all view modes (story, galley, layout).

  15. Change of indesign behaviour regarding form elements - problems of non printing elements

    Indesign Version 15.12x64 Windows

    I opened an old document (paper registration/order form) and suddenly became aware that something has happened.

    A lot of input fields was visible - in the old version i did never see tham in this view.

    But this was not the problem.

    The problem was, that if I converted the cocument to PDF with the STANDARD PRINT preset , all boxes were gone.

    After some investigation i found out, that those have been converted to intaractive elements also without my knowledge.

    Only after i changed the option "INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS" the very last option on the PDF…

  16. Using non-breaking spaces and export interactive PDF creates small boxes in PDF

    Using non-breaking spaces and exporting PDF using interactive PDF setting creates small boxes in PDF. Using Adobe InDesign 15.1.2 and macOS Catalina. I have tried multiple fonts in case it was a font issue. This just started happening last week when I did an update.

  17. 'Reveal in CC Libraries' Doesn't Work

    Selecting a link and clicking 'Reveal in CC Libraries' opens the Libraries panel but doesn't actually find or reveal the asset, which is the functionality I would expect from such a button.

  19. Clipping paths with inset frame only use the main clipping path.

    I have many photos with clipping paths that exactly outlines the garments. When using these against a backdrop, there is a thin white remnant of the white backdrop. To avoid this I can use INSET FRAME on the clipping path.

    But, if I use inset frame, the "internal" paths are disregarded and it only uses the first clipping path.

    I know I should fix the images, but it would take me ages. I have requested the different photographers to make the paths correctly, but they tend to revert to setting the paths at the garment edge. I do not know…
