1. Scrollbar is hidden upon defocusing the InDesign window

   Upon defocusing the InDesing window, the scrollbar disappears.

   This issue is creating usability problems - working on 2 monitors, clicking on the other monitor to grab some image or text, then trying to return to InDesign by clicking the scrollbar to scroll to the desired position does not work. Instead, randomly clicking the empty scrollbar randomly scrolls to the left or to the right.
   Whoever had the idea to hide the scrollbars had a very bad decision. None of known apps are hiding the scrollbar upon defocus, also, hiding the scrollbar has absolutely no benefits, just drawbacks.
   Please stop hiding the scrollbars when defocusing the main window. Lots of users actually want to return to an app by immediately dragging the scrollbar.

2. Hyperlink url gets cut off

   When creating a hyperlink by selecting text, the hyperlink gets cut off if the selection exceeds a certain number of characters – and the link ends up invalid.

   Easy to reproduce, see attached video.

4. Unable to Underline Numbering in List

   I have been facing an issue while trying to underline the numbering in a list.

   I am able to underline the text, but not the numbering.

   The character style is also not helping me in this case.

5. got stuck

   Not an idea, just a problem I have.
   Not sure this is the place to write for a solution
   Working on Adobe InDesign 2022 17.4 MacOS
   Steps to reproduce the issues: command+q
   Expected result: that the software closes. Even if it doesn't save, and will undo everything it did and let me open the file again and work
   Actual result: Shows a message (I've attached a screenshot)
   I waited a few hours
   My computer is boiling and I have a deadline

6. Unable to see Preset Templates in New Document

   When I try to open a New Document and find a template, all I can see are black boxes with a description. If I click on Preview I do not get one. Please see screenshot. How can I fix this?

9. 'Use Spacing' *STILL* not working for multiple pages using Page Tool

   1. Indesign Beta v 18.9
   2. Turn off Facing pages and deselect 'Allow pages to shuffle'

   • create multiple pages and then 'attach' one to another, by clicking and dragging a page alongside another in the pages panel, until you see the grey 'hook' then release it, so they stick together.

   • Now select multiple pages using the Page tool and the 'Use Spacing' option appears at the top. Type in a number, say, 50mm

   1. Expected result: All pages move 50mm away from each other, and you should be able to attach as many pages together as required for the task

   2. Actual result: everything stays the same, no spacing between 'artboards/pages' is automatically inserted, and you can only attach 10 pages together.

   NOTES:
   • I was hoping this issue was resolved in Beta.

   • I've tried 3 different computers (MacBook Pro M1 Max, iMac 2017 5k, MacBook Pro 15inch 2015) and doesn't work on any of them.

   It's a feature that would save a lot of designers working with Point of sale and event exhibition design, to be able to organise 'artboards/pages' directly in InDesign.

10. Placed SVG bounding box not correctly sized to viewbox/clipping path

    When placing an SVG file in an InDesign document, the object's bounding box does not match the actual extent of the SVG file correctly. There are two issues I have noticed:

    1. When elements extend beyond the SVG's viewbox, InDesign incorrectly sets the bounding box of the asset at the full extent of those elements. This occurs even if those elements are contained within a clipping path (as defined within the SVG – not referring to ID's built-in clipping path feature).

    2. Placed SVGs seem to self-crop about 1px from the edges of the viewbox. Consequently the bounding box has a 1px inset border of transparency, after which the SVG contents are visible.

11. Table & mixed inks on InDesign 18.1

    I created a group of mixed inks from 2 Pantones (432 and 2995) in 10% increments (121 shades in total).

    I create a table with alternate backgrounds (FPGP2995 shades 1 and 12). Everything's good. But when I select the first line to change it to shade 121, it systematically puts it at 20%! And if I change the percentage, it selects PFGP2995, i.e. the ink group...and the line stays white! I am attaching screenshots.

    Eine Volltonfarbe, z.B. Pantone, ist in InDesign bereits angelegt. Die Darstellung der Farbe ist in LAB.

    Wenn ich nun ein EPS (aus Adobe Illustrator) mit der gleichen Pantone-Farbe importiere, dann springt die Darstellung der Farbe von LAB auf CMYK um und wird dadurch wesentlich schlechter.

    Das geschieht auch mit anderen Farben, z.B. ANPA.

13. Footnotes still dropping out

    I'm using 18.1 and still having problems with footnotes dropping out randomly after I export to PDF. This bug has not been fixed, even though it's been a problem since at least 15.1.

14. problem of distorted previews even though their link is correct

    I am on indesign 18.1. Mac OS ventura 13.1.
    I have a problem displaying the images once I re-open my document. They appear stretched and refuse to export the pdf. The image links are correct and I have not moved the images from their original location. I have to manually update the links each time for the pdf to work. Can you help me?

15. PDF export not rendering Bevel & Emboss FX properly

    Bevel and Emboss FX not exporting properly to PDF (interactive). Example attached showing FX settings on a simple 50% gray filled square. Exported pdf file shows the render issue; compare to screenshot of how the object appears inside indesign.

    Running Indesign version 18.2.1 on Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1, M1 Max processor.

16. Effect color cannot be changed, InDesign freezes

    Version 18.2.1 on Windows 11

    Steps:
    1. Open a new document
    2. Create a rectangle
    3. Right-click on it, browse to "Effects" and select "Drop Shadow"
    4. Click on the shadow color

    Expected:
    "Effect color" window opens

    Actual:
    "Effects" window is disabled (grey header), but no window opens. Furthermore, no InDesign window can be enabled when clicking on it. Documents can also not be saved via Ctrl+S. I have to close InDesign in Task Manager.

17. Indesign always crashes during batch processing (after 55 files)

    There is a great script for batch processing
    creativepro.com/files/kahrel/indesign/batch_convert.html

    But on the last few versions of indesign, an error is generated after processing 55 files. It does not matter what documents and in what format to convert. For example, I created an empty document, copied it 60 times, and ran the script. Also on file 56, indesign crashed with an error.

    However, this is not an error of the script itself, the author could not reproduce it no matter how hard he tried. On previous versions of indesign (a year ago) everything worked without errors.

    I also deleted the settings, reinstalled indesign - the error persists

18. Cannot order Parent Pages

    In InDesign 2023 (v18.0) on an Intel Apple (macOS Monterey 12.6.1) it is impossible to reorder Parent Pages. This is possible in earlier versions. Please fix.

19. World-Ready Composer Breaks Text Variables on Export to Fixed Layout ePub Format

    If one inserts a current page number marker or a text variable on a master page and the paragraph style of that text specifies Adobe World-Ready Composer in Justification, when exported to fixed layout ePub, the page number or text variable will not print. This bug is present in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and possibly earlier versions (haven't checked).

20. dark interface &

    Appearance dark theme not matching the settings or OS. I selected dark theme but pasteboard and window top bar light grey. It should be uniform dark.

    Other issue is workspaces often does not show up after launching app requiring me to select a workspace other than my custom setting to show up on screen and only then can I select my custom workspace to have it show up. If I select my custom workspace right away after launch when no windows or tools show up nothing happens the screen stays without any panels or tools. Clearly a bug
