  1. PDF export wrong PDF version

    We are using InDesign server 18 to export InDesign files to PDF. The last months (since november, when we updated from 17 to 18) we are noticing that we have problems with disappearing transparancy.

    After a lot of research we found out that although the joboptions have the settings to export version 1.3, the server exports to version to a PDF 1.4. The PDF standard that is used is PDF X-1a:2003. This seems why transparancy is disappearing. I cannot reproduce this manually with the local version of InDesign I think because there is no possibility to use PDF-x1a:2003 and version…

  2. Incopy hyperlink Ok Button Grayed Out

    When trying to add a hyperlink to a page in InCopy, the Ok button is grayed out. All the other Link To Options appear to work fine, it is only the Page option that is graying out the Ok button.
    InDesign is allowing me to link it with no problem.
    I'm using InCopy & InDesign 2024, but also opened an old document that was done in the 2023 versions and noticed the same issue.

  3. Ocultar páginas

    Hola, con la nueva actualización de indesign, podemos ocultar páginas, y al exportar, estas no salen en el pdf. Esto está muy bien, pero ¿qué pasa si tenemos numeración automática y exportamos a pdf? pues que se mantiene la numeración y esto es un problema. Debería de haber una casilla de verificación o algo similar para que no enumere las páginas ocultas al exportar y así saldría perfecta la numeración sin saltar de páginas.

  4. Missing feature: Embed INDDs placed in an INDD

    So far, you can embed sort of all linked file types in an INDD, but not other INDDs. This should be possible to save a 100% fixed snapshot of a document.

  5. Unlink word document from Links - it used to work in Id2023

    I am missing the "UNLINK" button (right click on word document in Links). I just checked the same documents in both versions 2023 and 2024. In new version the button is missing.

  6. Fonts not previewing correctly when choosing different font from menu

    Running InDesign v19.0, but had exactly the same issue in previous versions -

    If I want to swap out an existing font for a new one in a text block in my project, the font does not preview instantaneously or correctly when I am scrolling through the Character menu. Sometimes, the font disappears completely, leaving only black blocks to preview. When I press return the text block does update to the new font but not being able to live preview is making it extremely hard to make design decisions and also see if the chosen font will fit the space…

  10. InDesign hangs for minutes when I/O for Document fonts is slow

    Using version 18.2.1 and opening a document that has an associated "Document fonts" folder alongside, the app performs a lot of I/O on the main thread. If the fonts are on slower storage, the app will open the document, but the window is completely frozen, since all those I/O calls are performed on the main thread.

    Note the attached traces: some calls are even performed twice for the same file. Can the CT calls be moved off the main thread?

  11. Proximity and distance from a display in InDesign

    I have a problem with my InDesign.
    When I want to zoom there is no with the mouse wheel. It moves the display further away from me and not closer. In Photoshop and the other programs it does work for me, but not in InDesign.

  12. Keine Darstellung der Seite (Seite verschwindet beim Text!!!!)

    Indesign 18.5 und 19.0 Bei der Texteingabe verschwindet die ganze Grafik (Seite) Auch beim verschieben vom Nullpunkt verschwindet die ganze Seite.
    Das alles ist unmöglich, ich kann mit diesen Versionen nicht arbeiten.
    Indesign 17.4.2 funktioniert.
    Ich benutze einen Mac mini M1 (Sonoma 14.1)

  13. Shortcuts assigned to custom menus lost after opening Keyboard Shortcuts again, clicking Cancel [Mac]

    In brief: If user assigns a shortcut to a menu created by a script, the shortcut will be lost after opening the Keyboard Shortcuts window again and clicking Cancel.

    Affects both InDesign 2023 and 2024.

  16. Stripes in objects that have transparency

    Dear Indesign community,

    I have installed the latest version of Indesign and always have these stripes in those objects that have transparency. The level of transparency does not matter. I set the screen display performance to the highest quality. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Indesign, but nothing has changed.These stripes can no longer be seen in the exported PDF.I use Windows 11, 64 bit, an Asus G814JV laptop with a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13980HX 2.20 GHz processor. 32GB RAM. And an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card. Indesign version 19.0
    I don't have the option to turn GPU performance…

  17. Indesign FREEZES or GETS STUCK when convertign another "version" file

    My Indesign version is CC 2019. 14.0.2 64 bits
    I try to convert from version 18.2 and I logged in, as the advertisement said. But when I click "convert" the button turns from blue to grey and unselectable. And the advertisement freezes there. I have to put cancel and the program lets me cancel and the bar above is again functional. But nothing else. The program still doesnt let me convert the file.

  18. Align panel issues

    I'm using v 18.3 on mac.

    My align panel isn't completely viewable and looks different that it ever has before. The normal options are gone. Also, in the top toolbar, the align tools only show up when I try to align objects. The tools don't appear when I attempt to align text boxes.

    I've attached a screenshot showing how the toolbar has always looked when I've selected assets to align, one showing how those options are gone unless I'm aligning objects, and a final one of the align panel. This has been very frustrating.

  20. relink with file extension bug

    Relink File Extension is not working. This bug seems persistent so I can only assume not too many people are reporting it, but it's slowing down my productivity. When I try to use Relink File Extensions and choose the option to link images that have the .psd extension rather than a .jpeg I get the error message "Failed to find 1 links in new folder.     Hi Kevin & others,

    It looks like you may be inputting ".psd" when it asks you for the filename extension.

    Try inputting just "psd" - that is, without the period in front.

    See what happens - it should work.
