  1. Keyboard Intermittently disabled after opening file

    In InDesign 16.2.1, often when I open files it's like the keyboard shortcuts are disabled. I hit Ctrl+A to select all, or I select something and hit the delete key and nothing happens. I have to close the file, but not InDesign, and then re-open it to make things work correctly.

  2. Drop down menu

    The drop down menus are not responding when I hover over. I'm using InDesign 2021 16.01 and have recently updated to OS Big Sur, this is when the issues began.

  3. Try to export a small file size pdf but get error message everytime

    The previous InDesign document exported to a pdf no problem but for some reason next updated version will not! INFURIATING...I'm on a magazine deadline too!!!
    InDesign 16.2.1 x64
    and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC version 2021.001.20155

  4. InDesign M1 Expired

    Hi,

    Just downloaded (2021-06-01) the M1 version and ... seems 'expired'.

    I've have 'repaired' CreativeCloud, logged out, removed the InDesign M1 version then reinstalled it but I always get the 16.3.0.5 version.

    I've found a post re this expiration which told about the 16.3.0.14 but where can I get it ?

  5. automatic resizing of text frames doesn't work properly with text variables

    I have a text frame containing just a single text-variable. The text frame is set to horizontal size adjustment. If the varibale is shorter than the text frame then the frame is resized properly. If the variable is longer the text is being squeezed together. The frame stays as big as it was before.

  6. Apple M1 Mac mini. Big Sur, InDesign CC 2021, tables are SLOW

    I've created a 6 column, 355 row table. No fill, default black stroke. I've created this same table, from the same data 100 times on my 2015 imac, running InDesign 2017 thru 2020. High Sierra was the highest MacOS on previous computer
    When I copy a word or phrase (100 or fewer characters) and paste it into another cell, it is showing the thinking beachball for 15 seconds. I'm simply double clicking on 5 characters to copy, then clicking into another table cell to paste the word. Everything that I had previously completed using tables in previous versions was quick.…

  7. iCloud drive

    inDesign thinks links are gone when files are being stored in iCloud Drive (even though the cloud version is still in the same folder on my computer). Please allow inDesign to download linked files in iCloud Drive automatically so I don't have to download and relink manually.

  8. Montserrat Font Constantly trying to load in InDesign

    Whenever I open an InDesign file the background task starts up and it is Montserrat Bold trying to load. This occurs no matter what file I have open and whether or not the file uses the font being loaded.

  9. cc libraries

    In 2021 update, the cc libraries freeze and are unavailable. I tried to delete something from my library 3 times, and nothing happened. Then I closed the window, and when I reopened it had deleted three things.

    Anyone else having issues with libraries with the new update?I know the 2021 update is still really new, so if this is already being fixed I apologize.

  10. PDF Files Not Exporting

    When I try to export any file in InDesign to a PDF of any type or size nothing happens. No error messages pop up and nothing happens. My background tasks say export failed but no indication why. Also there are no corrupted files, disconnected links or errors in my document and it has been exported before.

  11. InDesign's eyedropper tool is inaccurate. Photoshop's eyedropper tool is perfect.

    First off, thanks for the wonderful apps! This is about the eyedropper tool featured in both InDesign and Photoshop. The eyedropper tool in InDesign does not grab the exact color from a source image, yet the eyedropper tool in Photoshop works perfectly. Is there a way to use the Photoshop eyedropper code in InDesign, so that it will acquire an accurate color, and users don't have to open Photoshop to acquire the correct color when working in InDesign? Thanks!

  13. InDesign import from Microsoft Word does not pick up all formatting

    InDesign 16.0.1, macOS 11.1, MacBook Pro M1
    1. Import Word file
    2. InDesign text randomly ignores bold and italic formatting present in Word doc. See attached screenshots.

  16. Drag-Duplicating using Alt/Opt key does not work if key is pressed after dragging

    I am working on Mac OS Big Sur v 11.3.1 using Indesign CS 2020 16.2.1.
    I cannot duplicate images using the command option shift key.
    I have also noticed that holding the shift key down to proportionately size images is also not working. Could you advise if this issue can be solved? I have read the thread posted in 2020 and it said it was under review. I tried the workaround suggested changing live Screen drawing to "never" but this has not changed anything. Please help! Thanks.

  17. Slow performance - spinning wheel - AdobeFnt22.lst

    Hi Adobe, we are still having major issues with a lot of spinning wheels in InDesign version 15.1.1. because of the AdobeFnt22.lst files that are created with every document. Basically when we open a document it resyncs/updates the AdobeFnt22.lst file of every document that was previously worked from that Mac. This is causing a lot of network traffic and spinning wheels in InDesign. The problem is fixed if we restart the Mac or rename the "Document fonts" folder so that InDesign no longer uses the fonts so does not create an "AdobeFnt.lst" file.   18. Pages Pallet - page numbers under thumbnails hidden under last row of a small pallet

    1. InDesign 15.1.3
    2. Create a document where the Pages Pallet is smaller than the thumbnails in the pallet.
    3. Expected to see page numbers under the Thumbnails on the last row.
    4. Actual Result: The last row shows the thumbnail, but the page numbers are hidden, but only in the WORKSPACE views of: Advanced Book Essentials Essentials Classic …and my custom one (probably based on one of those above.)

    The page numbers appear to work correctly in the other WORKSPACE layouts.

  19. Selection Tool cursor disappear issue

    Reposting this issue from Beta Version as it has not been resolved
    I am using Indesign Prelease 16.3
    Cursor disappears after period of inactivity.
    Cursor will appear if hovering over an object, otherwise invisible.
    A restart will resolve this which is not ideal

  20. The Same Adobe Font is Considered Different for Different Users

    InDesign Version: 16.2.1

    Steps to reproduce issue: Open an InDesign file, set font to "Montserrat" (the Adobe Font version), save. Another person opens up the file. Instead of displaying "Montserrat", the font shows as "Montserrat (OTF)" in the font menu and all the text is highlighted red because that "font" isn't activated. If that person changes the font to "Montserrat" on their computer and saves the file, the same issue happens on my end. It's essentially treating both of our Montserrat fonts as different fonts, even though we're both using Adobe Fonts.
