InDesign becomes unresponsive for one minute on closing document with missing link on disconnected drive
Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server
InDesign 2022 – version 17.1 x64 running on Windows 10.
Steps to reproduce the issues
2a Map a folder (mine is located at a VPN) to a letter in Windows Exporer.
2b Create a new document.
2c Place an image from the network drive letter located on the aforementioned VPN connection.
2d Shut down your VPN connection.
2e (Note that the link in the Links panel does not realize that it is broken - no indication)
2f Close the document (Ctrl+w or Close in the File menu or just close the document tab).
2g Now try to interact with the InDesign menus. Or try to close the whole application.
I would expect InDesign to be responsive as soon as the document is closed. Id like to interact with the menus or be able to shut down the InDesign application altogether, instead of waiting for 60 seconds.
InDesign is totally unresponsive for one minute (50 to 60 seconds). Then it becomes normal again.
