1. Missing or Damaged Links in 17.0.1

   Just opened file created two years ago in InDesign. Links panel shows links ok, but pages show gray rectangles. Replacing the link seems to help, except if the link is a PDF. Those are not working at all. They show up on screen as pixelated, even at high screen resolution setting; but print as gray rectangles.

2. Scaling issues in Indesign 2022 17.02

   After innstalling the 17.2 version the page/artwork will no longer be shown in 100% on the screen. After deleting the version and going back to 17.1 the problem is solved.

5. Document grid hiding guides

   When unchecking "Grids in back" in preferences>grids, the document grid hides all guides that are places on it.

   That is, if for instance I place a ruler guide at the 2mm mark, and it happens to fall on the document grid (or its subdivisions), it will not show.

   That is even when the guides are in a different color.

   This is extremely problematic, especially in cases where I want to have an image/solid color as a background for my spread, and I want to make use of the document grid and also specially placed guides.

   Please fix this, or at least make it an optional preference that we can uncheck.

6. Adobe InDesign published document

   When viewing a document for review, if you scroll too quickly and then reverse the direction of the scroll, it can get caught into a scrolling loop that I cannot stop. It scrolls up and down incredibly quickly on it's own. I have to exit the document and then come back in. Happens in Chrome and Firefox.

   iMac, Catalina 10.15.7
   Indesign 17.01

7. Find/Replace: Doesn't find the text size format after a transformation

   InDesign 17.2 Win10 x64

   1. Type text with size 7pt
   2. Transform the text frame to 80%
   3. Textsize is now 5,6 pt
   4. Try to find the Text with find/replace and "find format" - size 5,6 pt - it doesn't work

   But it works with a text size of 8 pt (transform to 6,4pt)

8. Incorrect font in Paragraph Style Options "Font Family"

   InDesign 15.1.3
   In the Paragraph Styles panel, in "Paragraph Style Options: Basic Character Formats: Font Family:" the Font Family field has Adobe Garamond Pro when the actual font setting is Adobe Garamond.
   Expected result: The Font Family field correctly has Adobe Garamond
   Actual result: The Font Family field incorrectly has Adobe Garamond Pro

9. Review: Previous feedback is no longer displayed in previous file version

   Previous feedback is no longer displayed in previous file version! This is extremely tedious when checking the files, because even if you make a copy of the file and assign a new review link to it, your colleagues cannot compare the corrections with their comments. Likewise, I cannot check whether I have received the feedback with the subsequently marked errors and thus adopted them.

10. Shortcuts register/work without modifier key

    You can enter one letter, number, and symbol to keyboard shortcuts for Style Options.
    The characters you typed are not displayed, but starting with InDesign 2020(15), it will act as a shortcut.
    This should be disabled.
    Prior to InDesign 2019(14), registration did not work.
    Common for Mac and Windows version.

11. Navigation Points Not Available to Scripting in InDesign 2021 (16.0)

    Problem Description:
    Querying navigation points inside a movie trigger errors from InDesign 16.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Query movie.navigationPoints.length or movie.navigationPoints.count() with Extendscript.

    The following script shows this issue(s) with simple document containing a move and one button with a play at navigation point action applied.

    Actual Result:
    Each produces two separate errors.

    Expected Result::
    Both should be valid queries.

    Any Workarounds:

    No. Expected functionality is simply missing.

    movie.navigationPoints.everyItem().getElements().length at least doesn't produce an error, but it also doesn't include navigation points.

    This feature was added back to InDesign, but the scripting of it was neglected. I've filed a bug in prerelease as well. Posting here so others are aware.

12. Persistent Spinning Beachball

    I am using InDesign 2022 v. 17.1. I get a spinning beachball that lasts for six seconds each time I click. Opening a file or switching between InDesign and another program results in a much longer beachball. Several minutes after the document is open, the beachball becomes permanent and the program becomes unresponsive.

13. Fixing images and text wrap

    Since a longer time there is a bug, that makes it impossible to let the text flow around beside an image, while this image is fixed with a anchor mark. The line, where the anchor mark is set doesn’t flow around. That makes an unhappy compronise necessary: Either you don’t set the anchor mark and the image doesn’t flow with the text or you set an manual word wrap.

    This should be fixed because in other programs it also works.

14. InDesign 17.01: UI scaling range issue on high-DPI monitors

    PROBLEM:
    Since new UI scaling was invented in ID 17.01 all panels are displayed way too big and overlap in my resolution setup @ 2560x1440px and Windows OS scaling factor of 125%. The range is already at minimum. No work is possible anymore, I have to use ID 16.4 again and exchange via IDML. Please help!

    MY SETUP:
    2x EIZO CS2730 27" monitor @ 2560x1440px
    Windows display settings scaling factor: 125 % (needed, otherwise everything in the system is too small e. g. fonts, menus, explorer, browser

    Please have a look at the two screenshots showing the InDesign environment at 125% Windows OS display size and at 100% "standard size".

    SOLUTION:
    I ask Adobe to extend the UI scaling range to more "stops" and make lower values accessible for high-DPI monitor setups with Windows OS scaling factors above 100%. Thank you!!

15. On Export - "Save As" name field not consistently highlighted by default

    1. 15.1.3 version
    2. Open InDesign, open file, click on a page, CMD E to export.
    3. Expect "SAVE AS" field highlighted to be able to change export name, as with previous versions.
    4. Sometimes nothing appears to be highlighted, taking hitting TAB several times to get to the "SAVE AS" field. However, sometimes it is highlighted - so this is not a consistant problem - as sometimes it does come up highlighted. It does seem that when I first open a file / export - that it is not highlighted, but after that, it does come up correctly highlighted.

    This is not a consistant problem, which is what makes it a problem. You never know if you can just type a new file name, or do you have to grab the mouse to get to the SAVE AS field, or try to TAB to the field, not really knowing how many times it takes to TAB over.

16. Control Panel missing fields for Type

    Updated to InDesign 17.2 and noticed that some of the fields to the right in the Control Panel are missing for type. Using 27-inch monitor in full screen mode. If take out of full screen mode and move my window way over to the left off screen, and pull the Control panel out, then I see the fields. They used to fit.

18. 2021 variable font repeatedly unavailable causing InDesign to freeze

    In InDesign (version 17.0.1), I am using Acumin Variable, which initially shows up with no issues. However, InDesign begins freezing and minutes later, a pop up notification says the variable font is unavailable. This has been on-going and other designers I collaborate with are experiencing the same problem with this font.

19. inDesign creates an invalid href for an Archive.org link

    When InDesign creates the href for a link from Archive.org it does not href to archive.org, but to the dead link.

    example:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20220320173121/https://freewheelingeasy.com/
    creates the href for "https://freewheelingeasy.com/"
    rather than the correct href of "https://web.archive.org/web/20220320173121/https://freewheelingeasy.com/"

20. User Interface got large

    The User interface got large and many commands in the control bar have been hidden even if I set it on Small in the preferences!
    I can't get the small interface that was in the previous version.

    Did you open Preferences > User Interface Scaling and try to change the slider?
    You’d need to restart InDesign to see the changes.
