1. InDesign 2022 - Wrong Icons in Toolbar

   It looks like the icons for selection and direct selection are flip-flipped in the toolbar.

   Selection should be black, and direct select should be white.

2. Can't open some Indesign files in finder

   Since the latest 2022 update certain Indesign files will not open via finder - either by double clicking the file icon or going command>O. The app doesn't even acknowledge your action, only workaround is by opening via the app which is an absolute pain. Absolutely ridiculous.

   INDD 2019 v14.0.2 x64.

   I have an INDD book. I export the book to PDF and everything is fine. I export it to ePub and many things go wrong:
   (1) spacing between words goes haywire. This appears to happen when they are Small Caps.
   
   (2) Certain characters are missing and not rendered - for example ḷ, ṇ, ṃ, ṭ, etc.
   (3) Footnote hyperlinks are no longer working.
   (4) ToC hyperlinks are not working.

   I attach both PDF and ePub files. System doesn't let me attach epub or zip files si I renamed epub file to "Udana-Master-epub.pdf" - please change file ext to get an epub file. Thanks.

4. Bug: overwriting embedded objects with not embedded ones keeps them imbedded

   Indesign CC 2022, v17.
   Steps to reproduce :
   1. open two documents which have the same linked file (image) embedded
   2. edit the image outside of ID.
   3. relink the file in one of two documents, so it becomes unembedded
   4. copy the unembedded file to the other document, overwriting the same, but still embedded object/image.

   Exprect result: the object in the target document should not be embedded anymore and it should be up-to-date.

   What happens: depending on how the files is placed (inside a table cell or not) ID will only mark it as "it has been changed" by the yellow triangle or overwrite, but keep it embedded. If it shows the yellow triangle and since it's considered as embedded by ID, it cannot be updated (update button locked), which keeps the yellow triangle showing and overlaying the symbol for embedded objects so you don't know whether it's still embedded or not, until you right-click and find the "Unembed file" option.

   Note: this doesn't happen in 14.0.3.

   Indesign CC 2022, v17.

6. Swipe Gestures not working

   'Swipe Gestures to navigate within pages' used to work earlier in both mobile phones and laptops.
   But recently when I tried, Swipe Gestures are not working at all.
   Adobe clearly mentions that publish online supports smooth gesture controls : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/using/publish-online.html

   Please fix this ASAP.

7. object style override plus-sign when multiple elements selected

   Object style made. Works fine.
   Multiple items on page need same style. When applied to ONE item, styles menu looks "normal." When applied to multiple items, with items selected, the styles menu shows plus-sign after style name.
   All of "clear overrides" options tried. Does not fix. Cannot verify that use of style is correct if styles panel gives false feedback.
   In the past, earlier versions, I don't remember ever seeing this apparent conflict.
   MacOS 11.5.2
   InDesign 17.0.1

8. lose keyboard shortcuts

   InDesign 17.1 on 2019 MBP, Catalina 10.15.7
   All of the keyboard shortcuts involving the "command" key stop working (command + spacebar, command + shift, etc.). This usually happens after leaving the app open for a long time (during a long call, lunchtime, etc.) and they don't work again until the computer is restarted.

9. Alt text missing on hyperlinks after "Export as Interactive PDF"

   I work primarily in InDesign and create accessible PDFs. During the design stage, I always add the alt text when creating hyperlinks or adding images, and export it as an interactive PDF.

   As we know, after updating beyond InDesign version 16.1, the hyperlink alt text will not appear on the Link tag, but instead, it appears on the "Link - OBJR" (aka "Annotation") tag within the Link tag.

   I work on long reports that usually have hundreds of hyperlinks and this is a big and very time-consuming problem for me, so I reverted back to v 16.1.

   I've been ignoring the past several updates for InDesign, but my CC updated it to v 17 and v 16.1 is no longer available.

   Is there an acceptable solution or workaround?

   Can this be fixed in a future InDesign version???

   The world is becoming more accessible and this bug is quite a big problem for designers like myself.

10. Weird things happening in layout

    different colors or shapes appear when zooming in or out. It does go away once you move a text box, etc.

11. Intel iRIS XE graphic graphic bugs using dual monitors

    Sometime its glitch graphic appear, i had to zoom in and out to sort it out, and i didnt screenshot this time (it was big one) but sometime it does appear similar like this screenhot.

    Spec: Lenovo i7 1165G, 16GB ram, 512GB NVME, IRIS XE Graphic, one laptop screen and one 24" 1080P

    Does anyone experience with glitch graphic?

12. InDesign 17.01: UI scaling range issue on high-DPI monitors

    PROBLEM:
    Since new UI scaling was invented in ID 17.01 all panels are displayed way too big and overlap in my resolution setup @ 2560x1440px and Windows OS scaling factor of 125%. The range is already at minimum. No work is possible anymore, I have to use ID 16.4 again and exchange via IDML. Please help!

    MY SETUP:
    2x EIZO CS2730 27" monitor @ 2560x1440px
    Windows display settings scaling factor: 125 % (needed, otherwise everything in the system is too small e. g. fonts, menus, explorer, browser

    Please have a look at the two screenshots showing the InDesign environment at 125% Windows OS display size and at 100% "standard size".

    SOLUTION:
    I ask Adobe to extend the UI scaling range to more "stops" and make lower values accessible for high-DPI monitor setups with Windows OS scaling factors above 100%. Thank you!!

    Please urgently resolve the bug descrbed below by Johan. Our users are affected for a very long time now.

    Basically all the diacritics are messed up, regardless of font used. The PDF looks fine but the text if copied from the PdF is garbled.
    This is in 16.2.1 (2021). It was working in 2019.

14. Can not save or export in MacOS Montery

    1. version 17.0, apple M1 (also rosetta) MacOS Montery
    2. Click File, then click Save, Save As or Export
    3. A window pops up to save or export
    4. Nothing shows..
    5. nothing to show....

    I can work on my files, but can not save, save as or export anything.

15. Error(#14, #18, #22, #23, #33, #39, #40) while trying to publish your documents using Publish Online in InDesign

    Hi,
    I work on InDesign 16.1 on macOS Big Sur 11.2.1.
    Since April 2nd, error #18 PublishOnline has been occurring when I try to publish online any of my documents. I tried on several computers and it still failed at 98%. I also tried with a blank file and the problem was there too. My files work well when opened with another account.
    Please find attached a screenshot of the error as well as a test file. I tried every solution on the help center and it didn't work. Could the issue come from my account? What solutions can you suggest? It's my working tool and I really need a quick solution. Many thanks in advance for your help.

16. Anchored headings on even pages appear out of order in generated tables of contents

    Using InDesign v17.1 on MacOS 12.2.1. On a 50 page document with facing pages, using custom positioned anchored level 2 headings that appear to the left of paragraphs and are aligned at the left side of the text frame. When generating a table of contents, the anchored headings on even pages appear before their corresponding level 1 headings. I've moved the anchored objects slightly inside the frame and changed the left margin but problem persists. When pushing this same text to an odd page and regenerate the TOC, the problem is fixed.

17. navigation

    The navigation bar at the bottom of the screen is visible as soon as we hit a key.
    It is a bit annoying when you use this tool to make a presentation..
    Can we add an option to hide it ?

18. Pasting forced line breaks instead of end paragraphs (InDesign)

    When pasting data from Excel, each row comes in with a Forced Line Break marker at the end, instead of an End Paragraph marker. This is a recent change within Indesign, as you used to be able to paste from excel into a table in Indesign, maintaining the proper rows and columns. Now when you paste in the same information, it doesn't recognize the end paragraph, and tries to put all the data in one row.

    The same issue has been found when pasting text from Microsoft Word into Indesign - instead of End Paragraph markers, you get forced line breaks. This is a nightmare when trying to manage intricate text and utilize various style features.

19. Share for Review / Hyperlinks not working

    Hyperlinks are not working on Share for review, using image, text or even buttons. They work fine if you export the document as Interactive PDF. Already tried to delete the review and upload a new version, but nothing seems to work.

    Does anyone else have this issue?
