Endnotes are tagged incorrectly when exporting to Accessible PDF from InDesign 2021
In InDesign 2021, endnotes are not nested inside of a <Note> tag like they should be. Now only the Endnote number is in a <Note> tag and everything else is in a <P> tag. Normal behavior is to put each Endnote in its entirety within a <Note> tag. In addition, for several versions Endnotes and Footnotes are in a <Note> tag but then there's a <P> tag within the <Note> tag. The <P> tag is unnecessary and causes an error when trying to validate Accessible PDF. Please remove the <P> tag within <Note> tags when exporting to tagged PDF.

InDesign Buttons and Forms NEEDS an "image field"
InDesign Buttons and Forms NEEDS an "image field" due to ease of ADA Accessibility logical reading order ease. Adding image form fields in Acrobat is fine but obviously more tedious work is required to order properly. This is a much needed feature in todays ADA demanding environment

Margin Issues When Threading Tables
InDesign 2021
Background: I'm working with an InDesign Template file that was set up with two pages (not facing) and a lengthy table in a text box.
Issue: Whenever I thread my text box with the table it contains, the table over stretches the margins on only the additional/threaded pages. It remains within the set margins on the original pages, and if you try to adjust the table on the overset pages, it shirks it on the original pages as well.

In a document imported from word, endnote links don't work.
I imported a word document with endnotes in indesign 2021. The link between the reference numbers and the endnote texts doesn't work. Any suggestion?

Error #18 Publish Online
Hi,
I work on InDesign 16.1 on macOS Big Sur 11.2.1.
Since April 2nd, error #18 PublishOnline has been occurring when I try to publish online any of my documents. I tried on several computers and it still failed at 98%. I also tried with a blank file and the problem was there too. My files work well when opened with another account.
Please find attached a screenshot of the error as well as a test file. I tried every solution on the help center and it didn't work. Could the issue come from my account? What solutions can you…2 votes -

mac mid 18, os 10.15.7, indesign 2021 (16.0.1).
spinning ball coming every now and then … not able to reproduce, behaviour is arbitrary. but happens often when needing to do something creative or fast, which then is always VERY annoying to wait. I wish you could solve that behaviour or REALLY rework indesign, since it seems to hapen to a lot of other people too.

Big problems with Illustrator files in InDesign
When I change something in a linked Illustrator file it doesn't update the image on the page in InDesign even though it's refreshed in the link tab.
And today I saw that a part of an image was missing (a little bit was outside the image frame) in a pdf file. So I looked at the InDesign file, but it looked ok. Then I changed the image to show in high resolution and all of a sudden the page refreshed and the linked file was updated and was now showing the same error as in the pdf.

Applying character or paragraph style causes eventual crash
I make extensive use of the command-RETURN keyboard shortcut to apply character and paragraph styles. It seems that if I use this shortcut enough times, InDesign will crash. This happens several times a day, forcing me to reopen all my files and try to remember where I was.

InDesign to Acrobat Accessibility Bug
When performing Acrobat remediation on InDesign publications containing correct export tagging, the Acrobat Reading Order tool shows "P" tags at the end of each line of text (as well as additional "P" tags in the middle of lines). The Acrobat Tags panel shows no paragraph tags -- just broken up lines of text.
Fortunately, these broken up lines are not reproduced as such by the screen reader. So why does Acrobat identify each line of text with a "P" in the first place?
This issue needs to be fixed as it creates a dilemma and lot of unnecessary remediation work…

Recently it's been taking longer than 5 minutes for InDesign Server to spin up a new instance when executed by Windows system. This issue appears to be user specific.SYSTEM

Looking for InDesign 2020 to install on new MacBook Air
Hi there, I just got a new MacBook Air and searching my CC for Versions of InDesign 2020. I need it to work together with the publisher app «Wood Wing Studio» which doesn't work on InDesign 2021. But my Creative Cloud only show's me Versions to intall from InDesign 16.0 upwards. I also had InDesign 2020 installed on my old MacBook Pro running on Big Sur and had no problems with it. Is there any solution for this? Thanks!

Pasteboard settings are broken
Adjusting the pasteboard size between pages is broken - see screenshot, I've set it to zero and still each page is miles apart. Sick and tired of these endless bugs.

Problem copying font from Acrobat Pro DC PDF (to Word and Indesign)
[Adobe Indesign 2021 - 16.3 / Suitcase Fusion 21.3.0]
Since the last update, I am unable to copy/paste from a PDF in Acrobat the accented characters of the French dictionary (ô, é, è, ç, à) to Word or Indesign, whatever the font is (Adobe font or personal font).
The glyph disappear when pasted.
The glyphs exists in the dictionary when looking at the panel in Indesign.

Style "based on" another doesn't inherit Export Tag settings
When a paragraph style (or character style) is created that is based on an existing one, Export Tagging attributes should be inherited just like all the other attributes are - that one category of settings seems to have been overlooked in the code. Garbled type on "Welcome to Indesign" page
InDesign 16.0.2
Not every time, but often the "Welcome to InDesign" page has garbled/overlapping labels under the thumbnails of all the recent documents as shown in the attached screenshot.
Changing the size of the application frame window moves the overlapping elements around, but they are still largely illegible. See second screenshot.
Switching to the list view and then back to thumbnails clears the problem.

The character sequence -xx'-x crashes InDesign 2021 (v 16.0) on Mac
The sequence of letters -xx'-x crashes InDesign 2021 (v 16.0) as soon as you write this sequence yourself, copy or mark a letter from it (e.g. to change the text size) or do a search for this string, in a normal text field.
To reproduce the issue, simply write -xx'-x into a text field in InDesign 2021 or copy it into the text field. The X'x can be replaced here by other normal letters, upper and lower case doesn't seem to matter. The crash seems not to happen if the last X is a special character like ";" or "!…

I know the most recent update was supposed to fix this issue, but I am still having issues with the blank box in the "Share for Review" section. Any suggestions?

I previously downloaded a Japanese font and it worked fine in CS-6 - I am now using 2021 and Indesign will not print the Japanese characters

Uservoice shows error message and creates double posts
I've klicked on publish button and got a error message at my last post.
I thought maybe it's a problem with the size of the attachment, so I've tried an other file and got no problems at publishing.
Now I've seen, that the first two attempts, that were stopped by a error message of this system here, were published too.
So fyi, I didn't want to make a double or tripple post.Maybe you want to take a look at this behaviour too.
